Have you viewed this YT channel? https://youtube.com/@unbeatled?si=IAFUiR3fG4W-ohVQ Not the only one on YouTube doing this of course, but one I often view.

I bet they didn't bother spying on us.

I would like to wish the new Lord Mayor well for his term in office. He seems to be a very community spirited man and this honour is well placed. Here comes the but..... Although the nominated charities are deserving, much needed and serve across the communities, there is the enivitable Asian leaning. Kidney disease is 5 times more prevalent in Asian communities, diabetes too, far more common. The food charity is also Asian based. I have noticed this 'leaning' towards needs within their own communities far greater amongst Asians than other groups. In theory, the wider community hopefully will benefit too but, to me at least, it does demonstrate that we still have a heck of a way to go for a truly less inwardly looking mindset and to look at a more colour/culture blind and truly all inclusive philanthropy.

It would be nice if YouTube flagged AI content. I guess it's OK if using AI to illustrate facts, but I reckon there must be lots of pure AI fiction dressed as fact. I've seen two 'documentaries' come through on my feed, each claiming some previously unknown 'facts'. One was about the Beatles, another about a incident in WW2. Both were pure fabrication but were quite convincing in their portrayal, including of course, 'actual' footage and photographs.

That's good to hear. I Hope they all survive.

Some years ago, I was on a training course held at the Holiday Inn. As lunch approached, I was absolutely bursting to go loo. Unfortunately, the toilet contained just 2 urinals and 2 cubicles all were being used and there was a queue of 4 or 5 people. Eventually, it was my turn. However, I had a brand new pair of cream coloured denim trousers from Next on and they had button flies. I was really struggling to undo them so after only completing two of them and unable to wait any longer, I managed to get hold of the little fella and pee. Within 2 or 3 seconds, I felt a warm sensation going down my leg. I hadn't quite retrieved enough to fully clear the remaining, still fastened buttons. Plus, of course, there was now a massive dark patch showing down my trousers. Luckily - if that's the right word - it was a sunny warm day, so I went over to Castle Park lay in a quiet spot and let the sun evaporate my embarrassment. If I stunk of stale urine that afternoon, folk were too polite to say anything.

Agree. I too, have suggested this. However, the track record of the city mayor and council demonstrates that, if buildings are repurposed, then they will be for students or 'Places of Worship'. Meanwhile, green spaces outside the city centre are being built on instead.

Well, today was disastrous. Both were alive and being fed by the mother around 09:30. When checked an hour later, one had died. We looked at the camera feed again around 12 o'clock and the remaining chick had fledged. That was good - we thought. No. A little later we found it lying dead in some rain water that had gathered in a tub a few feet from the nest box. We assume it had partly fallen/flew into it and couldn't get out and drown I scooped it out and laid it on some soil nearby. We noticed during our lunch the mother, with a caterpillar in her beak, flying down to it several times. Sad to see really.

Has anybody actually been canvassed on their doorstep by a politician? A day doesn't go by where they don't make a reference to, 'What people on the doorstep are telling us'.

I kind of missed Walshy' play off winner against Derby. Iirc, a shot had just come off the bar and I threw my hands on my head and looked up to the heavens. Almost immediately, I then heard the roar and those around me going crazy.

Indeed, then when we reached the city centre, we would then watch the TV's in the Visionhire shop window to see all the results on Grandstand before catching the bus home. That reminds me of another memory. Other folk on the bus spotting your scarf and asking 'Did they win?'
-
I couldn't say why they died, other than it is unusual for all to survive. This could be due to lack of food, inexperienced parents, etc. One year, we had 5 or 6 chick's ready to fledge. They were very noisy, seemingly healthy and being fed from the nesting box hole. We were convinced one evening that they would be on their way the next day. The next morning they were all dead. We assumed that the parents may have fed them something that had been sprayed with some garden chemical or another. It was quite sad watching the parents still flying up to the box for the next day or two and appearing confused as to why no chick's were appearing.
-
Update. 7 eggs were laid. 4 hatched. One chick died after 3 or 4 days, another after 7 days. The two remaining ones are now climbing out from the nest occassionally and stretching their legs and wings. If all goes well, they should be fledging the nest completely late Sunday/Monday.

I do wonder if these early results and the inevitable 'rise' of Reform that they seem to underscore, will be looked back on as the beginning of the end of that party. There are already indications that where they do have control of councils, there are cracks beginning to show, with regard to council tax rises and so on. Also, the fact that many of their policies have a headline grabbing and populist narrative, they are short on detail and practical implementation. I believe that they will be 'found out' and this 'upheaval' period will abate and the status quo (Lab/Con) will return. That said; I do hope the traditional 'main' parties learn from what are genuine concerns an awful lot of the population have - we know what they are - and affect change somehow.

Then it could be argued that Rudkin is abusing that show of loyalty, exploiting it even.
-
Ignoring the points deduction and even forgetting about Top and Rudkins incompetence, if most of those players had shown just a modicum of desire in more games and committed just a handful fewer embarrassing errors/lack of concentration, we would have stayed up easily. In fact, if they went one better and played more akin to their ability, we would have been challenging for a play off place comfortably. Far too many of the players have, frankly, been totally non committed and unprofessional this season. Disgraceful.

I've told my wife I want the Bonzos 'Slush' played at my funeral. If it isn't, I ain't going.

I'm sorry we shot your Daddy, but it was for the greater good.

Never thought I would see those words in the same sentence to discribe us.
