Safe in the knowledge that bluetits had now finished with our birdbox for the season, I cleaned it out. Over the last few weeks, we have had many Chaffinches in our garden and this morning Mrs. FFF noticed one fly from our bird box. Curious, I turned the birdbox camera on and was surprised to see what looks like a completed nest. Didn't know they could breed this late in the year unless it's the weather that's had something to do with it?

There was another depressing stat during the coverage of the match, we dropped a total of 32 points from winning positions last season. 32! We're already on 2 for this season.

Is it me or does this seem like a long season?

I was in our local Tesco and the girl at the till asked for my club card. I explained I don't have one. She then asked the customer behind me if she could scan hers so it would save me a couple of quid.

I think that horse has well and truly bolted. Better to convert all the empty premises into homes/flats. (Not student accommodation either) Also Mr. Burnham. Re, ....giving local people something they lost a while back: the power to say no. Ninety-five percent of folk do NOT want city expansion.

About 10 or so years ago I went to see The Wilko Johnson Band at the O2 Academy in Leicester. I think that place holds 1500 folk? That night there was fewer than 40 of us, yet other venues during that tour were packed out.

There were reports recently of white working class students performing badly in our schools Previous reports have highlighted white male students particularly. I work in a school as a volunteer and have noticed a vast, vast majority of school publicity online, in the schools themselves and in student information booklets held in our school library, rarely portray white male students. Try it yourself, Google any school related topic, click on images and see what appears. Oh you'll get the odd white male student, but a very low percentage. This news item currently on the BBC website is typical. Of the people shown - no male white student. In fact just one white male portrayed - approx 6% Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised about the poor performances

I think the media can raise expectations too. I was excited for the eclipse and glad I viewed it but, the general light didn't dull half as much as some of the pre event reporting led you to believe. Also, the Perseid meteor shower is described as a treat/spectacular in the media when in reality you are more than likely to see 1 faint streak a minute - if that. Re the Northern Lights: if you look at other objects in any footage shown, you can notice it is sped up.

I Hope so, but worry there are too many inconvenient truths that'll get ignored by those with interests in the here and now and not so much the future. I've even seen it in my own family. An older member dismisses climate change but adds the caveat, if it is real, I'll be long gone by the time it gets really bad. I reminded him that he has grandchildren and they'll have children...... I despair.

I'm not convinced. If you are a woman, elderly or some other vulnerability and the driverless bus arrives, empty bar one or more fellas on board, would you get on? Folk with Ill intent, could even target such routes and times to exploit this. CCTV won't help if they are masked up and they'll only need to pay a couple of quid to stalk for victims

Sods law it'll be cloudy. Even patchy cloud can be a problem at that time of the day with the sun getting low in the sky.

I used to support a fella for a few seasons, who has since died. I then, along with some others, supported a group of 4 or 5 on match days though only for a couple if seasons. I have had two further offers to support individuals that I've declined. The reason was not the on field performances but the commitment. They would need to go to every home match, including evening ones and I didn't wish to let anyone down so, on balance, I said I was no longer available.
