Akinbiyi was a bad sigining by any metric. I asked AI and the adjusted for inflation its about 11M today but what 5.5m got you player wise in 2000 was arguably more than what 11m would get you today, so it isnt really a fair measure in my opinion. in any event, he was sold within two seasons for half the price we paid for him, and barely appeared (and never scored) in the top flight again. he only had two seasons in double figures in the second tier, with one of them only being 10 goals in all competitions. I don't bare him any ill, because he always looked like he tried bless him.
