After banking the Mahrez & Musa money, and more to come hopefully from Slim, Kingy, Simmo et al, we’ll have spent less than most even if both CBs sign. Call me greedy if you like but I still want @themightyfin‘s ‘big name’. Ziyech or Hazard if Puel is really thinking of 352/343 (which I doubt), Bailey or Hazard if it’s the more likely 4231. Any news @themightyfin?

Liked what I saw of Mendy in pre-season. Seems however he’s an injury waiting to happen, like Matty. We can risk one of them in our 25, not two.

Don’t know if the billionaire owner of Al Hilal knows who he’s talking to here. Slim is one of the deadliest number 9s in world football, as the stats from his time at Sporting testify. At Leicester he has a typically excellent goals-per-minutes ratio, and would have both played and scored more but for club politics, which demand the Sheffield-born striker Vardy starts 90% of games. If Al Hilal’s owner can whisk Slim away from Leicester for a cent under €30 he’d be seen as the Daniel Levy (no faith-based insult intended) of Arabian football. And it’d be the perfect riposte to that upstart club, Al Nassr. Of course on behalf of all Leicester fans, we hope you fail miserably and that Slim stays with us and plays more often with his friend and brother, Jamie Vardy??

Hope we persuade Darnell Johnson to sign his new contract. He should then spend a year out on loan at the highest level we can find for him, which I doubt would be above lower half Championship. Long way off PL level now, but in a couple of years, maybe. If the Croat signs I’d be happy with Hughes (from what I’ve heard, not seen) as fifth choice, possibly with further cover from Amartey. This is posted in Outgoings btw because 1 I want Benny off our books pronto, and 2 DJ needs a spell away to further his development

His first season at PL level, given the #10 shirt, told to take all set pieces, etc etc. Having seen Diabate run up blind alleys countless times in pre-season I don’t expect much from him. Actually think a loan to a Championship club would do him good. Gray remains Mr Frustrating but he’d be in my match day squad every time, as would Albrighton. Ghezzal I’m worried by too. So many Monaco fans calling him ‘worst player ever’ etc. Think we need more creativity & goals from a wide player. Hazard it’d be for me, loan Diabate out, ship out Leo & Slim...

So we’ve had hints from ITKs that we’re in for Leon Bailey and that we might be in for Thorgan Hazard, but there’s been nothing in the (reliable) press linking is to either recently. Nothing at all linking us to Ziyech. Unless he’s @themightyfin‘s ‘big name’? Am I the only one worried that as we stand we’re in danger of asking too much of Maddison?

Some people are on the pitch... This one is exciting- and therefore worrying! Hazard, Mepham & the winger from Monaco would be a brilliant end to the window. Could it happen?

A superb player in The Unbelievables. Ranieri understood and played to his strengths while protecting us from his weaknesses. One of few who actually improved the season after (just him & Kasper?). Time to go though. Leeds perhaps? Happy with Amartey as cover for Perreira, despite that shocking cameo v. Man U. Knight looks a prospect as third choice. But not, please Albrighton. Just don’t!
