Just say no. He isn’t better than what we’ve got, nor is he likely to be so in time.
-
Or we could get a cut-price PL proven player like Shaqiri? Was dead set against him initially but I’m coming round. It’s a deal at c £12M which carries no financial risk for us, and with Maddison, we could replace Riyad’s assists, creativity & goals with 2 players costing about 50% of what we’ll receive for Riyad. Someone on here might actually tell us what Shaqiri’s goals & assists for the last two seasons were...?
-
The upside of 3412 or 352 is that Nacho gets a run alongside Vards. The downsides are threefold: - Morgan plays unless we buy another starter for CB (assuming CP has the clout to drop Wes); - Huge pressure on Maddison to create everything in his first season in the PL - No starting place for our wingers, any of them Just saying.
-
Agreed. Everything in Puel’s past, and the signing of Maddison, point to us playing 4231 again next season, possibly 442 (diamond) on occasion. Still need another CB as 3rd/4th choice. Hughes isn’t ready & I suspect Amartey isn’t considered good enough, despite his AFCON reviews...

Jack Wilshere - signs for WHU 3 year contract
Steve Earle replied to Stevosevic's topic in Transfer Talk
Pay as you play, just maybe. Otherwise, I’d steer clear. -
How about we offer them a BOGOF deal? Pay the £75m for Mahrez and you can have any one (or all) of these for FREE! *Musa *Ulloa *Benny *Mendy *James *King

Meh...

Getting Iborring now...

We could play 3 at the back, which would see Drago play regularly. I doubt it, but we might...
-
Drago is twice the player Gibson is or ever will be. Nuff said!
-
No doubt it’s just a slip of a finger, but you’ve taken the your/you’re they’re/there/their thing on to a whole new level with “Evan’s”!

Because he’s possibly out of reach?

Or maybe Bale? Or Ronaldo? ?

Realistic Starting XI and Aims for 18/19 season!
Steve Earle replied to AdamDey99's topic in Transfer Talk
Apart from 16/17 (obviously!) the aims are the same each season - to improve, be more competitive, have a stronger & deeper squad, etc. So next season we finish 6th or as close as we can to that, we get more points than last year, we do better than 2 cup quarter finals. The way the window is shaping Puel is likely to start the season with the best squad in the club’s history- albeit lacking the best ever player. He’s going to have to deliver from the off! -
Balon/Barn D’or/Door - love it!

I haven't seen Anderson play but what I've heard (mostly on RL!) and read excites me, Maddison too. We could buy the two plus Roberts with what we get for Mahrez, Musa Ulloa & Slimani. How good would that be?! Now gutted to be missing first game of the season, it's building up nicely,
-
He is good, but horribly inconsistent. My Stoke supporting pal calls him a MOTD player - guaranteed to produce a watchable highlight most games, but not actually to influence them that much. Then again, if you'd played with the donkeys at Stoke for the last two years wouldn't you be 'lazy and miserable'?! If I remember correctly, he went on record last season to the effect that it was hard to play with so little quality around him. I wouldn't be excited by us showing interest in him, but I could understand the rationale...he just might be outstanding if surrounded by better players.

So you didn’t read my post. Hey ho. Lest anyone should think I’m thin skinned, please do so (read my post that is). To my knowledge no-one has had any kind of pop at me on here. My post wasn’t (drum roll...introduces whacky concept) about me, but about the tone of debate on here. Which I can’t control, but was trying in a polite and respectful way to influence. Just a bit. Night.
-
Christ alive. There’s nothing anyone on here could say that would piss me off. Bore me rigid, sure. Exasperate me sure. Make me slightly ashamed to support the same club as some on here - certainly! But I guess you’d rather score childish points than reflect on a vaguely serious post.
-
I don’t know you, you don’t know me. I’ll give you the benefit though. That was intended to be humorous, right?
-
No. Sorry, in the perhaps forlorn hope of improving the tone of debate on here, what I meant to say was: I don’t really see how he’d be an improvement on anyone we’ve got, never mind being close to a Mahrez replacement. With respect, etc.
-
No-one on here knows me from Adam (sorry, no personal reference intended!), nor would give a damn if I left the forum. I have a life, a job etc, and don’t live on the internet. I’ve enjoyed logging on to Foxes Talk over the years, a few times a day, posting the odd thought. I left another forum years ago (they wouldn’t remember me, I don’t remember them) when it got to the stage that every little post of mine brought forth abuse of one kind or another (what do you know?,etc), such that the only sane thing to do was get out. I hope we’re not heading in that direction here, but it does seem to me that every poster who might know anything of interest to most readers is now almost automatically subject to (at least) interrogation or (at worst) abuse or ridicule. I’m sure there are some posters on this forum for egocentric reasons, but surely we’d want this forum to be an environment in which people with some/a little knowledge would be happy to share that, without fear of abuse or recrimination? In short, could we lay off both the ITKs and those that wish they were? It’s only a chat forum, after all.

He does, and hasn't said it will certainly happen, just that it's looking very likely...
-
Behave! A starter every week for us if he signs.
-
Looks a terrific prospect. But after two years’ crying out for a decent no. 10, I’m hoping that if we do sign him, we don’t play him there! Why? If we persist with 4231, then any improvement he brings to no10 will be offset by a lesser player replacing Mahrez in one of the wide positions. Perhaps more importantly, it’d mean not starting Nacho, one of our very few potential worldies, and who ended last season on top form playing just behind Vardy. So I hope he’s coming to play in a midfield 3 alongside Wild & Silva, leaving us the option of 2 or 3 up front...
