  1. Can we have Seki Fofana on loan please?
  2. We don't, I'm just saying that sometimes the notion we should just sell unwanted players is actually not that easy. Balance sheets make for some illogical decisions.
  3. Wild thing is, if we sold him for £10m this month we'd be worse off in this seasons accounts than if we didn't sell him. Would have to be £12m or more to free up funds to buy.
  4. Mutual termination because Sheffield Utd have either agreed to taking Ward on loan or will cover Thomas's wages all season regardless.
  5. I think Brendan will come in for him
  6. When you buy a player you account for it evenly over either the duration of their contract or a set number of years. When you sell a player, you book the entire amount in the year you sell. However, depending how much you have left spread across future years for that player is also posted in full in the year you sell. That is why we refuse to sell players for less than what we've spread across the years and why we often don't end up selling such players. If we spent £50m this month, only £10-15m would be in this years accounts. If we sold £50m of players all £50m would be in the accounts but so would what we paid for them for the years remaining. This is why selling academy players is rife for the likes of Man City and Chelsea as its pyre profit for the year.
  7. If we did need to raise some funds because of FFP. £5m for McAteer would be pure profit on the books. Not huge money but might well be something we'd be tempted by. Don't see anyone paying £5m to be fair but who knows.
  8. Yeah that's a logical deal to do. It's not the end of the world if it doesn't happen and Praet stays.
  9. I know you've got to be proactive and maybe he's done this to put pressure on the club, but I'd be surprised if we'd be pushing for Sensi if it was that unlikely we're going to be able to make any signings this month. If things were very tight we'd need to sell and I don't think it's a need to sell but more it's only right we move players on if we are bringing others in. £2m across 4 years is £500k each year in the accounts. If we are that close to the limit then we'd be frantically trying to sell this month.
  10. Played 30 games for Monza last season.
  11. A 3.5 year contract does seem excessive. Would rather we chuff up a bit more in a signing on fee and it be a shorter contract but over that amount of time it's barely even registrable on the accounts for the transfer fee.
  12. Imagine getting done and still winning the league by 10+ points. There'd be bodies on twitter.
  13. Their home form is somewhat mediocre though - drawn 3 during this upturn in form.
  14. Southampton have a very good squad, Brussell is a hindrance rather than a help.
  15. Didn't effect him when he got it in August, we then went and won 9 the spin 😂
  16. We keep fighting the good fight
  17. He's likely correct in a general sense, but Sensi would be £1m a season in the accounts over 2 years or £650k over 3 years. I'd be astonished if we're that close to the bread line.
  18. I remember the turmoil in the days before his signing as it was looking possible that the deal wouldn't happen. Then the photo appeared of him holding up a Leicester shirt the same night we played Derby I think. Our 2nd greatest signing ever behind Vardy and the most talented player that we're ever likely see play for us. He is a phenomenon. I'd do anything for a swansong few years from him back here, you never know once he's racked up the bunce in Saudi for another season.
  19. Interesting to see who gets this!!! Wish we'd go and get Idiakez back.
  20. D2kqOXqWwAAiVH1.mp4
  21. I trust Enzo on his suitability in a playing sense but you'd be forgiven for being very concerned about his ability to stay injury free. Talent wise though he's top bollocks.
  22. No direct quotes but these stats are nuts as fcuk
  23. That's his net wage according to reports. Lots of places listing it at €3.7m / £3m a year.
  24. I thought it was €3.7m a season I'd read.
  25. I don't think we'd pay him 60 bags a week. I think that's what he's been on at Inter. He's not getting that anywhere in Italy again or another European team bar the PL. I'd hope it was less up front as a wage and more in bonuses.
