Reckon this could be a loan with an option to buy dependent on us securing our premier league status and him achieving a certain number of appearances, similar to the Fatawu and Yunus deals.

Not a lot has happened as unfortunately Rudkin has been distracted and spent most of today posting on his many Foxestalk burner accounts 😂😂 I am only joking so please don’t take offence 😊
-
Again at what point have I said he is responsible for sponsorship or corporate sponsors, I have questioned the elements that are within remit of football operations. You are throwing in so many curve balls to deflect the blame. I have never said Rudkin is to blame for all our woes, it has been a collective effort however he is very much culpable and for that reason I believe he should have been relieved of his duties a while back and in my opinion until he is moved on, then I fear we will continue to make poor financial decisions in relation to our football playing side budget and PSR performance.
-
The school yard bullying comment has really riled me, the majority of the posts have been well structured with genuine reasons to challenge his effectiveness, if there was loads of posts just calling him names or derogatory comments about him then I would agree, but on the whole the discussion yesterday and today has been conducted with respect and constructive posts.
-
At what stage have I said he needs to be a fully trained accountant? However as a senior leader and director of a multi million pound organisation, he should have a decent appreciation of financial management, understanding of PSR rules and how he manages a budget. Do you not agree that it should be a basic requirement for someone employed as a Director and highly likely to he earning a six figure salary?
-
None of us know the finer points of his contract however we all have a fair idea what the general role of a director of football entails. so I pose a question back to you, what reason do you believe and evidence you have to validate that Rudkin is not accountable or to blame for any of the failings?
-
Sorry but challenging the role and effectiveness of a man employed and very well rewarded to direct the day to day football operations of our football club, that has presided over us breaching PSR rules and on the brink of a significant points deduction before we even start the new season, is not school yard bullying. I am far from happy with many of the senior leaders of our club as they have presided over what can only be described as a complete and utter shit show these last 3/4 years, where at no point has any of them challenged the strategy or direction of travel that has contributed to us falling away from a position of strength to now a club quite likely to yo-yo or battle against relegation for a number of seasons until we can consolidate again. He, Top, Whelan and anyone else involved in this debacle should be held to account for their actions and involvement. If this was any other business that had experienced such a calamitous performance, the heads of a number of senior executives would roll. How people can defend Rudkin is absolutely beyond me. It isn’t all his fault however he carries a significant role and responsibility so therefore fully deserves to have his performance and ability to continue to undertake the role scrutinised and challenged.
-
You mean getting the blame for things that are directly in his remit? I know you can’t force players to move on, however you can be innovative and look at providing incentives to help grease the wheels or to ensure they sign an extension to their contract. for example with Youri, we could have agreed a fairly low release clause of say £15-20m with an additional incentive that he gets 10% of the fee, whilst we restrict ourselves in some way we are at least making it worthwhile for him to stay and in the same way we ensure we recover some sort of fee. A deal like that would still have seen us bank between £13.5m and £18m whilst Youri would benefit to the tune of £1.5m - £2m.
-
And yet still he survives, it is no wonder the club has fallen away,, since we won the league we have employed 5 permanent managers, the next appointment will be number 6 and yet despite the impending points deduction and likelihood we will be severely hamstrung in the transfer market as a consequence of our change in strategy, we seem so reluctant to change our Director of Football. I honesty believe had we had a more experienced and savvy operator at the club in the last 3-4 years we would have made an additional £100-150m in transfer revenue and without doubt found a way to move on some of the deadwood.
-
More importantly you will all be pleased to know that Potter is a good mate of Guillam Balague
-
Seems very similar to how the Maresca to Chelsea deal played out in the media and social media, reckon this is pretty much done, wouldn’t be shocked to see done deal tweets in next few hours and an official announcement in the next 24-48 hours.
-
Pretty sure this is a long standing interest from Rodgers time at the club, we were linked prior to VK coming in.
-
FFS we are truly going to repeat the same mistakes with potentially the 3rd manager in a row and hide what spend is actually available until it blows up in our faces and in 12 months time Potter will no doubt have John Morris working on his exit plan. If this is true and I have no reason to doubt it, what an absolute laughing stock we have become. I wouldn’t trust this current mob to run me a bath.
-
No it doesn’t, it depends on the severance package that is stated, hopefully will no more than 12 months and certain performance clauses inserted.
-
Did you actually read the post, I suggested Pearson as an alternative if we go down the route of appointing mediocrity like Ole or Cooper, he is nowhere near my 1st choice but would rather go back down this route than make a bang average appointment
-
I am probably going to be slated for this but genuinely if we are looking at someone of the ilk of Cooper or Ole I would rather we give the job to Pearson for 2/3 seasons with a view to restablishing our cutting edge approach to recruitment, analytics and sports science. Ideally bring him in with a young innovative coaching team and with a succession plan for his Assistant to step up and replace him in a couple of years. I would be looking at someone like Wellens and King to be part of the coaching set up with Wellens stepping up once Pearson has decided to step back.
-
Rudders has travelled to Stamford Bridge to snap up Frankie Lampard with a coaching team of Uncle Harry, the Forest fan Vicky McClure and Robbie Williams 😂
-
Depends on the terms of the deal, he may have taken a significant wage drop in return for longer term security. If he can replicate his form from last season I have no issue at all with it. I have a feeling he will play an important role for us, all in all a good dependable pro who was hung out to dry by Rodgers and as soon as he was shown a modicum of trust and belief was excellent. However if we have committed to similar wages to his last contract and extended by 3 years then I tend to agree that we have learnt absolutely nothing.
-
His Forest connections have no bearing on my opinion of him. I couldn’t care less their previous club history I just want the best available candidate to take over and who can deliver entertaining, progressive football that can deliver relative success. The potential appointment of Cooper is such a meh move in my opinion. It’s not one that fills me with excitement for the forthcoming season, however I hope I am wrong and he is a roaring success, I won’t be wishing him to fail, I just cannot see him being a good long term appointment.
-
Not Cooper then?
-
Appreciate the information, appears this is far from a foregone conclusion as from the sound of it, there are a number of sticking points. interestingly not from the Wassarman stable, he is represented by CAA Base Ltd who also represent Maddison and Casadei. personally I still think it will be someone else, we always seem to have a name leaked as front runner and then they fall away, happened with Scott Parker last year, Preki etc. Will be an interesting 48 hours or so to see what develops
-
Interestingly on the price of football podcast there was a question in relation to return on investment and we finished 20th …..bottom of the league below both Forest and Everton who have had points deductions and deemed financial basket cases, make no mistake, the concerns the likes of @CosbehFox @Chocolate Teapot and @st albans fox raise around the current state of the club and how it’s being managed or mis managed clearly has some foundation.
-
The reason I feel like that, is that I felt given the perceived interference he experienced at Forest, then you would expect he would have walked and yet he stayed for a long time accepting a situation that clearly was not sustainable for him as manager of the football club, to an outsider, his position had been completely undermined and untenable, he was a dead man walking for a long time before finally being put out of his misery. I may be wrong in this assessment but he is also giving me Chris Wilder vibes, a good manager who delivered premier league football, had a decent season but then their managerial limitations were exposed. Personally it’s not a direction I want to see us go down, doesn’t mean I am right, but I have serious reservations as to whether Cooper has peaked, my preference would be to take a punt on an up coming progressive manager with a higher ceiling but maybe a bit more risk, rather than Cooper and managers of that ilk.
-
My big fear after Maresca, who clearly challenged the club in areas where he felt it was under performing, that Rudkin et al will go to self preservation mode and appoint a manager of the ilk of Cooper, who they feel potentially will provide less challenge of the club rather than go for someone more progressive but who will demand far higher standards and expectations which potentially exposes failings and shortcomings within certain departments within the club.
-
Really hope not, just seems a pretty lazy and uninspiring appointment.
