Let’s hope Bournemouth still retain a strong interest in Daka and are in a position to pay a fee that makes a permanent deal viable for both parties, enabling us to reinvest I. A position where we desperately need a new option to freshen us up

The world of football finance is a murky business and with so many opportunities to write off losses etc etc it would be very easy to lead a prospective manager to believe whilst budgets would be reduced there was still headroom to work and there was no breach on the horizon. Unless Enzo had Kieran Maguire in tow, the club with the sale of Fofana, Maddison and Barnes pending, could easily peddle out the narrative that we wouldn’t breach and Enzo wouldn’t really have been able to dispute or doubt it. People can say Enzo was naive however in the same way we as fans had an inkling things were bad but didn’t have the facts as to the severity of any breach and whether we were in the mud financially or more if we were struggling for financial wriggle room. I don’t blame Enzo in the slightest, even Brendan was led down a garden path that he could rebuild then to be told that wasn’t an option at the last minute. The board and leadership of this club has form for keeping Managers in the dark regards budgetary constraints and it would not surprise me in the slightest if this happened again with Cooper.

Maybe the club feel that Alves would benefit from a loan, given how much football he has missed, a season of playing plenty of games could be just what he needs and then next season comes back ready to step up to our first team, much in the same way Barnes and KDH did. If this is the plan then the deal and the terms of the deal make much more sense.

However in that time we managed to lose our manager, which has impacted our summer preparation, make no mistake our recruitment will have been structured around what Enzo had identified was required and Glover will have had a rake of options ready to go. The appointment of Cooper will have meant a change in direction, time needed to assess the squad and then potentially a shift in strategy and potential targets. Our plans will have been disrupted and hence why we have perhaps been a bit slow since Cooper joined the club.

Ex Players - They used to play for us
Claudio Fannieri replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
I really am running out of any justifications for this current mob and how they are running this club. We most definitely have vacancies within the clubs academy structure where a former title winning captain would no doubt be respected and a role model and yet we allow him to move to one of our nearest rivals, it really is starting to piss me off, the levels of self preservation and the way the club are allowing itself to become further and further detached. Every day they seem to outdo themselves. Beyond a joke now, it is like the club has become a parody. -
Promotion has massively got the clique out the shit, I honestly think they believe we are back at our level and whatever happens now is not of there making. my opinion of the situation is that the hierarchy believe we are better than we actually are and that we are still dining out on past success. we are no longer the Leicester City that won the league in 2015/16 or FA Cup winners, we need to accept this is in the past and realise we need to show to prospective managers and new signings a desire to build a new exciting future and make people buy into it. We have lost our hunger and what made us the club we were, we have become complacent with a degree of arrogance and entitlement and as a consequence we have become run of the mill again.

Steve Cooper: The Tactics Thread

John? Didn’t know he was a mean mover as well as a super agent and Rudders chief advisor 😂 -
Hang on where the hell did I say that? Cannon barely got a sniff and when he did it was a handful of minutes. I think he started 3 games and in those he scored 3 times. At the time he was bang in form and could have kicked on but was pulled out the team to be replaced by Daka who largely from February onwards stunk the place out and could barely hit a cows arse with a banjo. Cannon has lots to learn and is far from the finished article however had he been given a decent run when his confidence was high I actually think his numbers would have been better than Daka who even at championship level was still bang average barring a handful of games.

Another decent young player that we have missed out on. Really disappointed given our recent challenges with PSR that we haven’t been more creative in the transfer market, there is some real value in the EFL with some decent young talent available at decent prices. Rowe, Harrison Burrows, Ronnie Edwards and Jordan James would have cost circa £20m and would have been £4/5m in terms of PSR with opportunity of high sell on potential. Really confused by the direction and strategy of the club at the moment. Surely investing in young hungry players with high sell on potential is the best way for us to start to rebuild.

Concerns about the direction of the club
Claudio Fannieri replied to Lambert09's topic in Leicester City Forum
Not sure which is in more disarray at the moment, our club or the country but what we both have in common is that the leaders seem to not have a clue -
Cannon barely got a sniff of a run though, majority of his game time was cameo’s off the bench.
-
Difficult one to assess as to whether he even wants to be here or whether we should look to move him on. what is absolutely criminal is that we didn’t take a punt on Harrison Burrows given how we want to use our left back to provide an attacking threat, his numbers were insane last season, would have been a really low risk transfer.

Steve Cooper: The Tactics Thread
Claudio Fannieri replied to SecretPro's topic in Leicester City Forum
Really concerning that we are failing to break down bang average teams and our lack of creativity and goals is alarming considering the quality and level of opposition. Lots to consider for Cooper in regards to personnel, how he utilises certain players and how can he make us more potent. As for Rudkin and Top they need to act and provide the players needed to give us the slightest hope and chance of being remotely competitive. Very very flat feeling going into the new season. -
BANG! That’s how we get a new player!
Claudio Fannieri replied to Lineker's Left Foot's topic in Transfer Talk
Would be a very good signing, quality player, is this just a guess or do you have some inside intel on this one? -
Horribly sad and devastating news of Shakey’s passing and at a relatively young age. Will never be forgotten and forever loved by us Foxes fans for his contribution to some of the greatest times in our clubs history. RIP Shakey once a 🦊 always a 🦊

Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)

Scored as did Jeff Schlupp against Wolves in a friendly, so doesn’t look like a move is imminent -
Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)
Claudio Fannieri replied to iancognito's topic in Transfer Talk
Something has crossed my mind on this transfer, I wonder if Vardy’s injury is medium to long term, the club has been pretty vague as to the nature of the injury and regards his return. Could Ayew be seen as relatively cheap option to cover his absence. Especially when you consider his pressing stats etc and the fact that Daka couldn’t hit a cows arse with a banjo and Cannon doesn’t seem to be impressing. I wouldn’t be at all shocked if we do sign him that it is then announced that Vards injury is more serious than first anticipated. I am getting peak Brendan vibes on this one and the club are keeping it under wraps until a replacement is signed. -
Who do you want for next season in the PL

Zian Flemming from Millwall would be a decent addition, good physical presence, scores goals and is versatile -

Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)
Claudio Fannieri replied to iancognito's topic in Transfer Talk
If there is any shred of truth in this what an utterly utterly uninspiring move. I really hoped we would have used promotion to attract young exciting talent from Europe and the cream of the EFL, with a smattering of young PL fringe players on loan with options/obligation clauses. I am at a loss to what our recruitment strategy is this summer. Absolutely honking -
Jordan Ayew (interest confirmed by Percy)
Claudio Fannieri replied to iancognito's topic in Transfer Talk
Just a thought, but I wonder if we did show interest at the time as an alternative to Decodova Reid, it will have been highly likely we had 3 or 4 options of a similar profile and it could be that the Ayew enquiries did take place but didn’t progress. Doesn’t stop journos reporting it especially if it helps an agent mate keep his client’s name in the public domain to smoke out interest from other clubs. -
Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Claudio Fannieri replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
If it is a 16 point deduction and that is a very big if then that means the breaches have been of catastrophic levels and surely the ownership and senior management can brush that under the carpet and expect to carry on, the atmosphere and already fractured relationship with the fans will be in my opinion irreparable. But -
Steve Cooper: The Tactics Thread
Claudio Fannieri replied to SecretPro's topic in Leicester City Forum
The one bit I do really wonder about is what has Cooper been given as a target for the season and his mandate as Manager, is it too keep us up at all costs, is it to be competitive and develop a team of relative younger players even if that means another season in the championship. The issue is dependent on whether his appointment is based on longer term targets or very much short term defined objectives will very much change his perception in regards to the use and development of younger prospects and his view on our recruitment policy. let’s be honest if his future employment depends on us staying up then his focus will be on safer, older, been there seen it and done it characters than being brave and putting his faith in younger more exciting players who will make lots of mistakes and need to grow. if cooper is playing it safe and our recruitment is fairly uninspiring it’s highly likely the objectives he has been given, will be influencing his decision making. -
