Who do you want for next season in the PL
Claudio Fannieri replied to Fightforever's topic in Transfer Talk
I had this discussion with my lad this morning, I think he is one of those players who has had an absolute freak season and I think he will be a bit of a flop at premier league level, my lad disagreed. Then sammie bags a brace and my lad is smug as, however I still think it. It’s a no for me -
You miserable bugger 😂😂
-
But top and bottom is we didn’t blow it. So Enzo deserves credit it wasn’t a foregone conclusion, however for context I think what McKenna has achieved with Ipswich tops what Enzo has achieved. Winning leagues isn’t easy regardless of squad values, wage costs etc, of course Enzo had a very squad to work with but he still had to find the right formula.

It was the same person who posted the initial pic and then later laughed saying it ain’t the sponsor. Just assumed they had posted initial pic as some sort of ITK hint
-
Wonder if there is a possibility he stays if KDH does move on, as that would be the last of the little clique gone that were accused of freezing him out when he joined……..
-
Care to elaborate? Are they investing? Stadium or training ground sponsor? potential new owners?
-
Hallelujah, completely agree, it’s not about spending big but investing and recruiting well for players who fit the profile. Hermansen, Maviddi, Fatawu and Yunus have all come in without costing 20m+ each and are pretty good for Enzo ball, there is no reason we cannot find more players of this ilk moving forward difference is with premier league football on offer may open up new possibilities.

Absolute legend one of my fave ever Leicester players, would love to see him return in some sort of coaching capacity.
-
Would probably end up blocking Vardy’s Tifo 😂
-
I don’t think he is leaving but I do think he is quite in his right to call out certain elements of the club if they are being run like a complete and utter shit show by rank amateurs, let’s hope Top realises he has a good one and after mess the club has ended up he backs his man and bins off Rudders. I have a feeling this summer will see a fair bit of upheaval and change but for the better.
-
I think if JJ is potentially available then there will be other interested parties in and around mid to lower end prem teams, which potentially does then strengthen a potential rival but I agree we have every chance of getting circa £15m for him which would be pretty much all profit for a player who is possibly deemed as expendable

Would be a cracking signing., free transfer, technically very good and would thrive in Enzo Ball. Just coming into his prime, all in all just the kind of signing we need to be making. Just hope we are sensible with wages.
-
That was my thinking as well although I am far from an expert and @st albans fox does seem very knowledgeable on the finance side.

I wonder if Casadei will be on our list of summer targets either on loan or as a permanent deal. Enzo clearly rated him and I honestly think as the season progressed he would have become more and more part of the first XI had he stayed at the club. -
He can be a bit of a liability at times but his ability to drive forward with the ball is something that nobody else really offers from defensive positions, his run at Preston was superb and really did deserve the goal. I think he is good enough for where we will be next season but in the same way if we receive a decent offer that enables us to book a profit and reinvest then I think we should and would take it.
-
It will be interesting to see what happens around naming rights and sponsor deals over the next few weeks, I do wonder if the club will announce training ground naming deal, new club sponsorship deals and possibly even the stadium naming rights, that conveniently offset any PSR issues for this season, enabling us to not sell KDH.
-
Wow looks like this thread could destroy the who are you quiz on @BSLBPod so many potential random players gone in a day 😂
-
Also I wonder if the discount relates to the sale being finalised before the end of June so any profit goes into this years PSR calculation, will very much depend on the level of discount they want and what ever profit we are hoping to take into the accounting period.

However for fairness and consistency he also was absolutely magnificent against Bournemouth, whilst he is slow, I actually think this season he has looked more aggressive and quicker in his transitions. He is literally our play maker and I really can’t see us releasing him, he has been integral to how we play and therefore think he will get at least 12 month if not 2 year deal enabling us to recruit and bed in his long term replacement.
-
Absolute legend of this club and watching him celebrate on Monday night showed just how much he genuinely loves our club. Will be a massive loss in terms of his professionalism and maturity, definitely one of the core leadership group. Really hope he gets an absolutely superb send off.
-
Another point to all of this is I would potentially class these clubs as direct competition particularly Brentford and Fulham regards the battle for relegation, therefore we need to be careful we aren’t strengthening a rival, for that same reason I ain’t convinced KDH will see this as a progressive move. I think you are looking at big 6 and possibly Newcastle and West Ham as the only ones that could be seen as a genuine step up from where we are as a club.

Wilf is nowhere near good enough in possession to play as a defender in Enzo ball.

He will command massive wages and in all honesty I think will set his sights a lot higher than a team just promoted from the championship. -

I was of a similar mind frame last summer, really wanted us to sign him but not so sure now, both times we played them this season he looked like he absolutely shit the bed, he is talented but given the Man City and young English player tax, I think there is better value to be had with players such as Jacob Greaves or Ronnie Edwards -
Fully appreciate that and I certainly ain’t saying it will happen but I would sincerely hope the club have been actively working on getting potential deals lined up and not just waiting until the end of the season to make a start. Players such as Iversen and Thomas could be moved on fairly sharpish if we are sensible with our fee strategies and hopefully bring in £7-10m in profit. You would hope we have been very active with agent(s) with links both home and abroad to generate interest. The next few weeks will be very interesting to see how we operate. if the supposed rumours of Rudkin moving on are true, I wonder if his contract terminates on 30th June and his task and potentially his severance package is heavily incentivised on our ability to be EFL PSR compliant.
