Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

It will be due to a clause, once we are relegated his pay off will reduce dramatically, only way he does before that is if walks of his own choosing or agrees to accept a reduced pay off for mutual termination. I imagine he was hoping to be relieved of his duties a few weeks back and get his full pay off but now it’s highly likely we will be relegated next week, the club may as well hold off and pay the bare minimum. -
Strange there is no Monga, but great to see Aluko and Evans on the bench. another strange selection though, no Riccy P despite being such a positive addition on Monday, Soumare still stinking the gaff out, whilst Ayew and BDCR continue to pick up a hefty pension and take up two places on the bench despite offering feck all for weeks now. And then McAteer appears from nowhere to start. The sooner RVN is gone the better. Whole club is so stale and stagnant.

It is a strange situation, I am a bit like that too, if he plays the youngsters then all I want to see is us win, but it then prolongs this weird situation, whereas he keeps the same group we get our usual dry humping and then he leaves and we can start to move forward. -
Mads Riccy Okoli Coady Aluko Ndidi Skipp Monga Bilal Mavididi Vardy jake Evans on the bench as a minimum as well. Once our relegation is confirmed bring in as many of the genuine academy prospects and give them valuable experience and make it clear to certain 1st team players that there time is up and need to find a move away in the summer.

I watched the game vs Leeds and although they lost they played some decent stuff and play with a real intensity too. He has even managed to get Kelechi making lung busting 60 yard recovery runs to support the defence 😊 He has blooded a decent number of academy players and their transfer business has been pretty decent too, Hayden Hackney would have been a brilliant summer addition to the squad to replace KDH instead of us spunking £20m + on Skipp 😩 Carrick would definitely be on my shortlist alongside Rosenior, Rohl, Wellens, Liam Manning and my dark horse would be Reuben Selles, did a great job at Reading under really difficult circumstances and conditions and gone into Hull and got them moving in the right direction as well.

I am sure I read somewhere that Maresca was recommended to Top by an owner of a premier league club. Also wasn’t Enzo’s Agent John Morris, the one who represents Vards and was known to have quite a tight relationship with the club and Rudkin.

One of my concerns about us this season has been a real lack of physicality, we have a squad littered with players who are small and/or lack physical presence. When you look at other teams they look bigger, stronger, quicker and fitter than us, I really do think we need to have a look at the profile of players we want for next season and the following season in the premier league should we go up. Thomas, Winks, Skipp, VK look too lightweight and then when you look at players like Daka and Soumare, they just don’t have the resilience to cope with the physicality and pace of football in England.

This has become one of my biggest issues of recent weeks, I don’t have an issue per se with Wilf as we know what he is about and too be fair he always gives 100% but Soumare is an absolute fraud of a player. Every game he will make 2 or 3 runs where you think wow this guy could be a real player, but for the most of the game he aimlessly ambles round the pitch, often on the wrong side of his man and in possession playing 5/10 yard safe passes either sideways or backwards. I know Winks and Skipp apppear to be on the naughty step but why would you not mix it up and give one of Henry Cartwright or Sammy Braybrooke an opportunity to start alongside Wilf and the other on the bench. I am not saying either are world class but with one eye on next season the development opportunities this presents would be massive. We are going down, so why not use these last 7 games to focus on getting ready for next season.

I reckon Dawko is Jersey Budd and the club have stopped paying him his royalties 😂

Probably offer family members jobs on decent wedge.

Speaking of Brendan, quoted on BBC that Celtic need a refresh, need new players or players need a new voice ….. perhaps Top has had a word and wants him to come home 😂
-
Have you heard Everton Wooo now that is embarrassing

Sorry to say it but When your smiling has been a terrace song that was sung for as long as I can remember. Away days in the late 80’s and 90’s it was a real regular. So think you may be mistaken. It’s definitely our song and I bloody love it. Our decline was die to piss poor management on and off the pitch not our choice of pre-match music 😂

He will have to play the PR game and maintain a certain amount of professionalism in the public domain and in press conferences, if he comes out all guns blazing saying he is a gone once we are relegated etc then he will be in potential breach of contract and he will want to protect whatever agreed severance payment. what is said in press conferences and what is actually happening are often two very different things. I wouldn’t take anything said about his future being a genuine hint he might stay. He can’t come out and say I am a goner as soon as we are down. -
What a horrible question, truth is I hope neither are here. However if we remove Ruud and Rudkin is still here, we are just kicking the can down the road, the club needs systemic change and the only way that truly happens is by removing Rudkin and bringing in a competent and forward thinking DoF. Rudkin proved last year even with a decent manager, he still managed to piss him off and nearly derail the season because of false promises made about January spending, add Brendan and Ruud to that list as well. Ruud has been a disaster for 16 games, however Rudkin’s fingerprints are all over a far longer decline, the issues he has helped create by offering long term extortionate contracts to some bang average players has led us to 2 relegations and being massively restricted financially by PSR through wasting 100’s of millions of pounds and allowing countless assets to leave the club for free. Rudkin is by far and away the biggest charlatan of the two, and if he is allowed to continue in his role then I am afraid we are set for more of the same.

How much did Chelsea ruin us this season?

I am sorry no way do we end up worse off under Enzo than we currently are, for a start off we wouldn’t have had the change in ‘style’ under Cooper so more likely we would have hit the ground running, recruitment would have been different and players like Abdul and Riccy would have been 1st choices. I am not saying we would be mid table but I reckon we would be much closer to Wolves than we are now, even if we still went down. I have no doubt we would have taken some beatings under Enzo, but we have under Cooper and Ruud, but i do feel we would have been far more competitive in games against teams in mid and lower reaches of the table. -
Watched quite a bit of the Boro vs Leeds game, both teams play with so much more intensity than we do, really will need to up our game if we want to bounce straight back up.
-
The following players have zero book value and given they will be high earners I would be tempted to cash in even if it’s relatively small fees, possibly could get £5m-£10m for a few - Riccy P Ndidi Justin Thomas Vestergaard also the following will have relatively low book values so could also shift for a small profit and help with a complete rebuild - Soumare £4m/5m Daka £4m/5m Souttar £7.5m VK £5.5m Coady £2.5m Winks £5m Faes £6m So there is opportunity to generate some space and move on high earners

Yeah it was 4 o’clock on a Sunday afternoon after we played Chelsea as the lunch time kick off the previous day. I think it will be anytime from 4pm onwards today if it is happening. -

Really hope this is the case, I also hope he has walked without a severance package and therefore not constrained by an NDA as I would love for him to give an honest appraisal of what he was promised and what is actually going on at the club. if he has walked with a negotiated settlement then highly likely it will all get swept under the carpet yet again ……. -

…….please share with the rest of the class 😁 -
If we lose on Saturday and Wolves win on Sunday we are effectively relegated as we will be 18 points behind with 6 games to go and a goal difference of at least 31 to make up.

I think he is prepared to accept his reduced payout now to get out, that is what I gleamed from his interview with Sky Sports after the game. -

It was Cooper who insisted on signing players with premier league experience so we spaff money on BDCR, Ayew, Eduoard and Skipp, all of which barely get a sniff, then he excludes Ricardo. We conceded chances at an alarming rate and only for horrendous finishing and our goalkeeper making unreal saves were we spared from a number of heavy defeats. Ruud is appalling, been a terrible appointment but so was Cooper, the work he did to let the structure and culture unravel in such a short space of time makes him equally as culpable to the absolute shit show of a season. -
The only saving grace is that the book values for all 4 you have quoted are fairly low now, in fact Ndidi will be nil so we could allow him to leave for a fairly low fee on basis that the buying club cover his wages in full. The other 3 are all comfortably under £10m, so if we are sensible and I know that usually isn’t the case with us but if we are we should look to do deals that clear the book value and if we can book a small profit then great but if not the key issue is to remove high earners. There will be clubs that will see all 4 as decent value signings now book values are relatively low and plus all will have relegation wage reductions coming so again makes them more gettable.
