  1. Pearson, O’Neill, Little all cut their teeth at lower league clubs and had some record of success, Wellens has cut his teeth in the lower leagues, his experience at Salford was a weird one, as the owners wanted a change in style hired Wellens mid season and didn’t give him a pre season, they are a basket case of a club, winning the league with Swindon and promotion with Leyton Ortient and now having them challenging for the league one playoffs is no mean achievement. What makes me smile is that some would be happy to see Kingy given a chance when he has zero experience but because he is an ex player, at least Wellens has some pedigree, experience and success, he gives me similar vibes to Pearson and Little not a sexy trendy appointment but somebody who wants to play good football but pragmatic enough to dig in when required to take points. Gives me the feeling he would grab this club by the scruff of the neck and drag us kicking and screaming into a new era.
  2. If that is the case even more reason for us to focus on promoting our academy prospects. Got to build the club round players such as Stolrcyrk, Joseph, Nelson, Braybrooke, Cartwright, Alves, Evans, Monga, Hutchinson, Page etc
  3. I really do admire your optimism and belief but this is the same Top and Rudkin who thought hiring Steve Cooper who had been pretty rancid in the premier league with Forest and allowing him free reign to piss money up the wall on shite like BDCR, Ayew, Skipp and Eduoard was a decent idea. They are pretty clueless when it comes to managerial appointments and the strategy is all over the shop. I truly believe they would have no hesitation in appointing Russell Martin despite his failings at Southampton if the opportunity presented itself.
  4. I wouldn’t agree, he has secured promotion from league 2 with Orient and now has them challenging for play offs in league one on a fairly limited budget.
  5. Summer will be fine it will be January when it all unravels that’s Rudkin’s usual MO
  6. I think Rosenior would be a great appointment and I think the lure of coming back to England with a job with a club with genuine premier league aspirations and with a world class training facility not withstanding the fact we would probably blow Strasbourg out the water in regards of financial package and transfer budget. So I think it would be a very tempting offer for him.
  7. EMPOWER – Dare to Believe: The King Power Super Power program identifies top-performing employees through tournament-style competition, designed to inspire and support career advancement... Rumour has it Top has already granted Rudders a bye to the final of said tournament style competition
  8. Daka seemed a really exciting signing and I think he has clearly stagnated and his career stalled here. I honestly believe he is the right player, wrong time, he had undoubted potential but the truth is Vardy hanging around as long as he has done has not helped Daka, who has had to contend with playing 2nd fiddle. He showed in the game against Moscow how devastating he can be and at that point he was primed and ready to step up and play a prominent role for us and that could and should have been the catalyst for the changing of the guard. However such is Vardy’s position and role at the club, Daka was shunted back to a bit part role and as a consequence his levels have dropped massively and he looks a shadow of the player we signed from RB Salzburg.
  9. I would liken our ownership to that of Blackburn Rovers, prepared to spend and invest to a degree but little or no football knowledge or experience within the boardroom and therefore as a consequence make many poor decisions, managerial appointments and when they do get one right they inevitably leave due to frustrations. They are also pretty aloof and rarely engage with the fanbase.
  10. I think a large part of our drop off in the 2nd half of the season was down to a drop off in intensity, which was largely due to not having enough central midfield options, KDH and Ndidi were both running on fumes and playing with knocks and the remaining options were pretty limited. Losing Casadei and not bringing in at least one midfielder to offer up genuine opportunities to rotate coincided with our poor run. yes we had the a very expensively assembled squad from previous years but our recruitment focus was still flawed in not securing a midfielder to offer fresh impetus and options. In January we exited the window weaker in a critical position then we had entered the month and it had a significant impact on our momentum.
  11. Because Cooper ripped those foundations up you clown 🤡
  12. Absolutely, yes he had flaws, but in the main he overhauled the culture of the club, promoted younger players, oversaw a decent recruitment strategy, made us more professional, forged a decent rapport with the fanbase and pushed for the highest standards of professionalism across every aspect of the club. Would have him back in a heartbeat, similar to Pearson in the way he raises standards and puts in excellent foundations
  13. How about the following - LCFC board - Destroying a Legacy It’s factual, calls out everyone involved, Top, Rudkin, Whelan and points to the poor decision making that has undone all the previous good work and foundations both on and off the pitch. A message that isn’t offensive to anyone, so should unite more than it divides.
  14. Just a thought but how about something along the lines of LCFC, the time for change is now. that way it points at all aspects of the club?
  15. Sorry but he has been with us for 4 seasons now, the occasional lung busting run forward with the ball, followed up by meandering back at a snails pace to try and cover the man he lost because he has zero awareness of what is going on around him. He is the midfield equivalent of Faes, is capable of moments of brilliance but in reality makes far more costly errors than he does offer positive involvements and as for attitude and commitment, they have both checked out.
  16. Completely agree however I doubt it will happen, we are in desperate need of a complete reset, as you say we need a Maresca/Pearson type to come in and completely overhaul the place and establish the culture and blueprint for a successful and sustainable future. However my fear is the self preservation society that own and control our football club are in that horrible short term cycle of trying to desperately hang onto the coat tails of the premier league. Rather than take a long term view where we may have to accept a year or 2 of championship football but change our strategy to promoting our top academy players and building our an exciting young squad with a bright up and coming manager, and whilst short term we may take a bump or two, long term we will be on the right road, we will instead lurch from one short term appointment to another to another in the desperate hope we bounce back and by some miracle stay up. There is far more chance of me getting behind a championship team/squad built around players like Stolrcyrk, Bausor, Jospeh, Nelson, Cartwright, Braybrooke, Monga. Evans, Alves etc than seeing tossers like Ayew, Soumare, BDCR, Coady, Vesty et al trotting about stealing a living from my club any longer.
  17. Our recruitment has been so hap hazard and disjointed it’s beyond belief. in the last 2 years we have utilised European markets to sign some real exciting talent and decent value such as Mads, Abdul, Mavididi and BEK but then have spunked money and wages on absolute dross in the British market including.BDCR, Ayew,, Eduourd, Skipp etc. Our recent record on domestic transfers is dire, we have wasted millions on the above and yet ignored exciting young EFL talent like Harrison Burrows, Ronnie Edwards, Kwame Poku, Hayden Hackney, Tom Fellows etc etc all players easily within reach last summer and wouldn’t have cost a ridiculous sum in fees and wages whilst also offering potential, long term strategy and future sell on potential. We are so poorly run, the last 2 summers have proved that we are very much driven by the manager at the time. Last season whilst the recruitment wasn’t perfect there was at least a coherent plan, a reasonable mix of experience and younger players, clearly targeted to play in Enzo’s system. And yet this summer just gone I am not sure what was going on, it was so random, Okoli, BEK and Facu seemed to be club signngs and wouldn’t be shocked if these were all scouted and identified targets prior to the summer and then Coopers premier league experienced mob of Skipp, Ayew, BDCR and Eduoard, all of which have had lengthy spells of not being involved. It has been absolutely criminal whilst also blocking any pathway for our genuinely talented academy prospects to develop and see opportunities to be involved in the first team matchday squad.
  18. I hope you are correct regarding the penny dropping but I wouldn’t put my money on it.
  19. Reality is no decision to sack him will have taken place last night, when Cooper left it was announced around 4pm the following day after a lunch time kick off. even if the decision has been made and relayed to him, there will be legal paperwork etc having to be drawn up, agreed and signed prior to any announcement, wouldn’t be shocked if there were to be announcement that it would be later this evening or even tomorrow.
  20. Was at fault for the opening goal and then made another error that gifted United the 2nd that was disallowed for offside, granted he had some nice touches but as a defensive shield he is a fecking liability and the way he lumbers around when trying to track back makes my piss boil. Can’t wait to see him leave the club, like so many others here, just hanging around collecting their wages with little or no affinity for the club, I reckon 75% of this squad can’t wait to get out.
  21. Sensible post but you forget one thing this is Leicester City Football Club, a club that thought hiring Steve Cooper would be a good idea after he had spunked millions at forest and had them on the verge of the relegation places playing horrible turgid football, so I wouldn’t be shocked in the slightest if the went ahead and appointed Martin.
  22. What a mess, this season with woeful recruitment (managers and players) has created untold damage, we are in a far bigger mess than we were 2 years ago and that is after the club did a reasonable job of pressing reset with Enzo, but they have managed to undo all that hard work and more by then reverting to type. The disconnect with elements of the fanbase is growing beyond repair and to be serving up the absolute muck on the pitch is just further alienating the supporters. Top has to act now and be ruthless, today he has to move on RVN, he also needs to announce the removal of Rudkin and Whelan, and recognise the need for systemic change across all areas of the club. They are so out of touch with the fanbase it’s beyond comprehension. if he is unwilling to take this course of action then I am afraid King Powers time at the club is drawing to an end, as sitting doing nothing whilst Rome burns is utterly unacceptable and shows a level of ignorance and contempt towards the supporters who have loyally followed this club through thick and thin. Next season I can see crowds dropping below 20k and the club won’t be able to attract influencers, tourists and day trippers for a home game versus the likes of QPR, Swansea and Preston to fill the empty seats and that is not being disrespectful to those clubs, it’s a harsh reality. Lots of the ‘legacy’ fanbase are the ones who are venting their frustration and anger toward the club and voting with their feet, they will be the ones who have been turned off by the matchday experience, the direction of travel of the club and the lack of communication from the owners and their senior management. This has become a club where there is little or no accountability, continued deflection and ignorance to our demise and a lack of any long term vision/strategy as to how we rebuild as a club. Something has to change as the current direction of travel is taking us to a dark place and without immediate action I genuinely fear the club will become a shadow of what we recognise it being. I really cannot believe there is one supporter who genuinely accepts what has happened to our club both on and off the pitch these last 2/3 years is remotely acceptable and if you do then I would question if you really are a supporter or more of a day tripper, tourist type of a fan, because this hurts like hell seeing my club being destroyed by the current ownership / decision makers.
  23. He has checked out, the club have to act, not to try and save us from relegation but to try and build some semblance of positivity and some sort of coherent plan for next season. Team selection are all over the place at the minute, players frozen out then suddenly in the side, players who have been starting disappearing from matchday squads, it’s such a mess. The change in formation has done nothing we look devoid of ideas, he has to go today and the long term planning of how we will operate as a championship club, which players will be here and how we build competitive squad focused largely on our academy has to begin in earnest today.
  24. I have said it before I would love to see Richie Wellens given the job however I have a feeling it will be Russell Martin.
  25. I haven’t defended RVN I think he has been terrible, I am just saying he has a plan and structure but it’s not fit for purpose with our squad. Which is criminal, as a manager you have to come up with a style that suits the skills of the players available to you.
