If we had signed zaha and the other 2 lads who names I can’t say this week the attitude to Ayew would be very different- in isolation 3 million for a really experienced prem level player coming off a really good season to be a squad player for us would be decent business - without the other bigger starting players it just seems crap - I get that but he isn’t a bad player for where we currently are

probably still got a book value of £10m ish so would need to be more than that to sell him so we dont post a loss on him- if not it will be another loan- surely even cooper wont fancy this guy- been robbing a living here since day 1- worst signing of last decade- very close if not

was only ever going to be a loan- we cannot afford to take a loss on him because of ffp- same scenario with soumare - we paid 12 for him didnt we so his book value 18 months on is probably still 5m and nobody was going to pay that- this way it just kicks it down the can and next year his value will be nearly zero so any sale would be profit

I hear you - and I obviously see you are bang against this one for plenty of good reasons - I’m slightly less against it because of the reasons I gave - I don’t think him and reed are bad back up down the wings at all - both come as really hard working and good attitudes as well from what other clubs fans say - we have zero cover for Mav or Fatawu and no idea if they can make the step to this level - we obviously don’t have the money to go after some of the players I listed on the other thread earlier and we know we are in big trouble with point deductions etc - I stand by if it’s relatively good value I don’t see it as a bad thing

Fair comment but that’s a different matter - Ayew has shown he can provide - that’s his job - he isn’t a striker - he is a wide man nowadys and does a very decent job at it - especially when you consider the state we are in - I agree about his age though - nominal fee and 2 years max - get it done
