  1. Warwick Half in February is decent
  2. As I said in the build up, I was chilled about this one. Not at any point today was I going home at half time and not once was I negative about Ayew
  3. I don’t know why but I feel strangely chilled about this one.
  4. Standard kind of Run Through event where they fit 13.1 miles into a 2 mile radius. There’s a really beautiful part of the course as you head out to Wymeswold but the bit at the airfield both at the start and finish is mind numbing. You must cover at least 5 miles on the airfield. Hoping this works and you can see the map…..you’re more than welcome to find my strava and have a look at the route properly. It’s a race where I completely di**ed around and fell out with my friend along the way.
  5. Tunnel Vision runs are great! Is the Prestwold one the Run Through event?
  6. The new announcer feels a bit corporate and not as likeable as the other dude.
  7. The finish at Northampton takes the absolute utter pi*s. That bit along with the steps at Sixfields.
  8. After being sent home from work with the lurgy on Friday and spending yesterday in bed, I dropped down to the 10K. (Didn’t want to miss out on the t shirt or lose money) Dragged my sorry a*s around in 55 minutes and thanks to a chap being a dick at the start of New Walk, nearly vommed at the finish. Managed to run consistent miles and they only dipped as I stopped for a drink. I’ll take that today.
  9. I have a few pairs…. Mizuno Wave Rider 26 - cost £31 - for an every day shoe Saucony Ride 17 - parkrun shoe when not chasing time Saucony Ride Trail 15 - my light trail shoe Nike Air Zoom Tempo Next% - on their last few runs but used for faster parkrun/half marathon/marathon shoe Nike Vaporfly - for the odd occasion when o fancy a fast, flat, tarmac run. This is where I must point out that I have 4 x Runners Need 50% discount every year through my health insurance! Plus I buy last seasons shoes. On the lookout for a new race shoe so I I’ll be taking a trip to Derby Runner soon.
  10. Coros Pace 3 is a fabulous watch and great value for money.
  11. Ahhhhh good luck and I hope you hit your target! My issue is that I gauge my success on how many dogs I can stroke during a race
  12. Who is running Leicester half? Im torn between ‘racing’ and going for a PB or just having fun and clocking somewhere between 2:05-2:08ish
  13. My runs for this week are: 45 minutes recovery tomorrow after a race yesterday An hours session including 4 sets of 5 mins at just above half marathon plan with 2 minutes recovery Half an hour Thursday parkrun Saturday (casual easy 30 minute run) race day!
  14. It’s a home crowd sell-out so should be a good afternoon out. I think it’ll do the teenager good as well and remind her that city actually aren’t that bad…..
  15. Putting my interest out early as I’m sure it won’t make my ST sale day…I’ll be looking for 1 x adult and 1 x U16
  16. Hoping to go to Harborough Town v Bury (have just sent the other half down to the club to buy tickets) This will be my first ever trip to a Southern League ground.
  17. Last minute sign up to Leicester Half after a nightmare at Tissington Trail Half last weekend. Considering pushing for a PB although I’m not sure I can bank enough time before hitting New Walk
  18. You can wear bone conductors which are a great alternative.
  19. Tissington Trail Half tomorrow and I haven’t ran this far since Bosworth Half in June. It’s been nice of having a break in training cycles.
  20. There’s a whole app full of parkrun challenges! I’ve completed Leicestershire, nearly completed Nottinghamshire and Birmingham and only have a Q and a V to complete my alphabet. I hated parkrun when I first started attending as I used to constantly chase a time. Covid happened and now I dick about, talk to people, stroke dogs and head off somewhere decent for breakfast. I’m enjoying parkrun so much more than I did before.
  21. A few moments before the substitution he went to win the ball back and got up holding onto his calf.
  22. Best way of getting a long run in! Run to parkrun - parkrun - run home
  23. I walk for a few minutes before running. I’ve always been told that your first mile should be your slowest to give your legs/lungs/head a chance to warm up. If it’s parkrun and I’m in the mood for time chasing, I’ll always do a good 10 minute warm up jog to get the blood flowing
  24. He’ll never beat the OG that is Andy King
