  1. My dad has this picture signed by Steve Walsh and it used to have pride of place on his bedroom wall. My mum made him take it down as she was fed up of ‘Walshie seeing her naked’
  2. The best marathon I have ever ever run. It’s magical and apart from the final climb it’s not as hellish as you think. It was my PB course until London this year as even though there’s 3 climb the rest is flattish and downhill. The final descent into llanberis is insane.
  3. Ended up at Trentham Gardens and simply had a nice, good, steady run. Nice to push the pace and spend some time in the 7 minute mile bracket but just happy to get round at the moment. So stupidly warm though!
  4. Anyone parkrunning tomorrow? Unsure of where to go as I’m not sure if I want a challenge or a PB pushing course
  5. I love mine. I was reluctant to buy then as I thought they’d be shite but honestly I’d be lost without them.
  6. Sold out this morning so missed out with my ST….after 2 tickets please (1 adult and 1 U18)
  7. The cynical side of me thinks this is a huge roll of the dice and a massive gamble. So we shall see……
  8. Made it out this morning for a speed session and the weather was once again hideous! Talking of socks, I swear by the Injinji or Hilly toe socks. Changed to them years back after getting numb toes and blisters and they have been such a good investment.
  9. My other half used my season ticket today and I think the message of ‘you made the right choice to stay at home today’ from the teenager told me all I needed to know.
  10. I’m doing that one as well! It was the downhill first mile and flat course that made me do it!
  11. I was at Market Bosworth as well today and had a really good morning. Spent the whole time chatting away and was nice not to ‘run’ this morning. Off out again tonight and doing a self navigated, no electronic devices 5 miler. Could be interesting followed by XC tomorrow
  12. My dad used to have his LCFC memorabilia up at home but mum moaned so much he had to take it all down! The one piece I’ve got my eye on is an autographed Steve Walsh picture of him turning away celebrating after scoring in the 1994 play off final V Derby.
  13. Managed my fastest parkrun of 2024 today over in Wolverhampton. Really annoyed at myself as I didn’t have time to do a warm up and I then stayed behind another runner for too long. Just over 90 seconds over my 2019 PB so I’m hopeful I can get back near there soon. New trainer day as well….went with the Nike Zoom Fly 6. Impressed with them today and for the first time in a long time the legs felt good.
  14. Jacob Blyth. Signed from Leamington, did great in the development squad then seemingly disappeared. Married the Holly chick from Geordie Shore but never quite hit the highs in football.
  15. Vardy Heskey Claridge Martin O’N
  16. Must be something in the Hinckley air! People wonder why a) I go out early and b) run solo around Wykin/Stoke Golding! Many a field has been visited. Following a bout of Covid, training plan has started ready for my half in April, May marathon and summer ultras
  17. Stating the obvious here but the need for an actual proven goal scorer who can play with or without JV is surely a priority?!! I have said for a while and others may not agree however I honestly feel that we are one maybe two players from being a capable side.
  18. In my opinion Long Eaton is faster and better than both Abbey Park & Watermead
  19. I love parkrun as you can choose to ‘race’ it or just dick about. I normally choose the latter Ran my 132nd parkrun today and 80th different location. 1st in age category and 11th female so can only assume that the fast runners had the day off
  20. You might enjoy but it didn’t do anything for me. I really like Warwick Half which is February as it’s not like a normal sh**ty RunThrough event where there’s loads of out and backs. There’s a hill around the 10/11 mile mark but the alpacas give you motivation. There’s also a rapid 2 miles pretty much downhill to the finish as a reward.
  21. I think it’s the same route as the September one and it’s as boring as f**k. The worst part was running past the finish, down a hill, then around and back up the same hill to the finish.
  22. I have a feeling about this one…a good feeling. I don’t think we’ll take the 3 points but can deffo see us coming home with a point.
  23. Finally able to place my normal pre match bet….£1 in Vesty to score anytime
  24. I swear by Runna. PB’d at half distance and twice at marathon distance using their plans. Yes they cost but the plans are based upon your data so adjust accordingly during training.
  25. Still holding out for 2 x tickets (1 adult, 1 u16 or 2 adults) as I don’t think it’ll make Thursday
