The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)

At least you’ll miss the inevitable end of season woes….. Footpath is a great app and have saved my ‘let’s just see where this goes’ runs so many times -

I know you can on Monsal but not sure on Tissington. Looking on Footpath it doesn’t look like there’s any paths off the trail except. -

I accidentally crashed a 10K race there a few years back and they encouraged me to go through the finish and gave me a medal! -

Is it an out and back? I’ve done a couple of jogs there before and I can’t imagine it being much fun! At least Tissington is point to point -

After walking around Carsington Water I promised myself that I’d never ever run there…..good luck! -

Why it can’t be left alone and they simply change the ballot process? Say for example you’ve got in on the ballot, you can’t enter it again for 2 years. Ran for charity? Great but can’t do so for consecutive years. Also you need to have a deep connection to the charity and not because you want to run London. Perhaps a minimum entry requirement for charity and ballot of say have run a half under x time. it’ll never work, the cost of shutting down London for a whole weekend would be insane. I feel that it devalues the event. It’s a bit like changing the FA Cup from a 3pm kick off - totally unnecessary and a tradition that doesn’t need changing. -
Watford 0-0 LCFC, post-match thread

It was interesting watching Winks today. There were numerous times where he had the ball and he showed and at times vented his frustration at the lack of movement from players to keep the ball moving. Harry, we feel this pain every single game. -

I’ve done it twice. It’s not my favourite however it’s a decent event. The gated road part makes you question your life choices though! Both times I’ve run it, the weather has been insanely hot for the time of year! -
Having watched this again, am I seeing right? He pulls his hair during play and then shoved him on the floor off the ball? I saw the off the ball shove (and was asked by one of ours what I was shouting for) and can’t believe that the linesman did nothing!

It was right in front of the linesman and I couldn’t believe that he didn’t even flinch when it happened!

I was looking forward to this one and then I saw Hamza. Good night all

Is this the new one? I looks at it but no way am I entering it. Undulating is an understatement! -
Ipswich Town (A) Saturday, March 7 = 3, and I do mean 3, pm

Ran with an Ipswich fan at parkrun today. He feels that we’re too good to go down and that if we run up to play today we could get something…..I politely disagreed with him. -
Montaigne - I’m a fantastic wreck I'm a fantastic wreck Wrecking everyone around me I'm a fantastic wreck And if I'm a little bit Deranged would you not Estrange me or change me And if I can write your name can I be Angry and nasty And if nothing else can change me And I am just this way then Would you love me?

Is anyone running the Derby 10K in 2 weeks time? I’m so out of shape but entered again as the t shirt is so nice (apart from the DCFC badge on one of the sleeves!) -
At least I can go to bed now and either wake up pleasantly surprised or not shocked in the slightest. G’night

Last time we took the lead in an evening kick off, I dozed off all warm and happy but woke up to sheer disbelief! Somehow I need to stay awake and pray! C’mon City

Not renewing my season ticket: I cannot be only one
waddadamadda replied to LinekersLugs's topic in Leicester City Forum
This may seem a little dramatic however football has long been the only escape for my now 16 year old. She had a horrendous time at secondary school and the one incentive for her not to give up was going to watch Leicester. She’s known no different for the last 13 years and has created some amazing friendships that have kept her going. Am I happy with the way the club is going? No. Do I enjoy the time I have with my daughter (except away games as I buy her ticket, drive her there, buy her food then she goes off with her friends to stand elsewhere!)? Absolutely yes and I won’t give that up to try and prove a point. She knows that her season ticket is a privilege but there were days where I nearly didn’t have a daughter so bring on the trips to Plymouth and Exeter if relegation happens. -
I’m at Cardiff watching Cardiff v Luton and I’d forgotten as to how poor L1 is. Can’t wait for next season……

MSK Osteopath -Avin Patel. When I lived near Lutterworth I’d see him at his Wigston Clinic but most recently I’ve been to Scraptoft. He’s a genius. https://www.avinpatel.co.uk -

Whereabouts are you? I can recommend an incredible osteopath. He’s based in Scraptoft but has clinics throughout Leicester. He’s got me through several marathons and ultras injury free. -

Well imagine my surprise this morning. Teenager went with her dad and I stayed at home. I fell asleep around half time all happy thinking that my Leicester were back and had some fight in them. And then my alarm went off this and I saw the notifications. Wow. How on earth did it all go so wrong…… -
Just trying to be optimistic and convincing myself that I do actually want to go today!

I’m going for a post La Manga part 2. Blues fans taking the absolute p##s out of us, away fans 100% backing the lads and we sneak a victory and go home happy.
