  1. My rough plan at the moment is to use it as a stopover for a couple of days before heading into Slovenia.
  2. I do one that is 6 hours of 4 mile out and backs (2 out 2 back) on the Humber Bridge. To be honest, boredom sets in before fatigue. The best thing I have learned is that walk any uphill/incline and steady pace the flat and downhills. Give it a go as they’re good fun!
  3. There’s this niggling feeling that I have that the uncertainty of the points deduction is having an affect on attitudes.
  4. Had seats selected and went to sold out before I could pay looking for 1 adult and 1 U17 please
  5. Has anyone been to Liechtenstein? I’m tentatively planning another European road trip and would like to know if it’s worth a stop over for a few days?
  6. I made a comment about this but then my child reminded me that some have to get trains home
  7. Yip. Only twice so far - 56K and 50 miles. Next year will be my first 100K followed by my first 24 hour
  8. I got odds of 4/1 on us to beat Tottenham on Monday
  9. I swapped from Apple to Garmin and then to Polar. I think it depends on what you’re doing running wise. My main reason for changing was for the battery life. The battery life on an Apple Watch wasn’t enough for 10/12 hour run recording whereas the Garmin battery life was. I now need a watch that will have enough battery for 24 hours and my Polar watch fits that criteria
  10. If anyone can’t make it and decides to sell and adult and u18’s ticket, please let me know as I didn’t have enough points to buy tickets before today
  11. We spent a bit of time in the Jewish Quarter which was really lovely and chilled
  12. It was a shock to my eldest when she realised how small the UK actually is! I love a road trip but 20+ hours non stop, nope. I’m bored after 4 hours
  13. Finally back from our road trip and covered just shy of 2800 miles. Would I do it again? 100% yes. Mont Blanc is absolutely insane and definitely somewhere I’d go back to. We camped facing Mont Blanc and it’s a breathtaking view. We stayed in a mixture of Airbnb’s and camp sites (mainly Airbnb’s as I’m a bit of a princess) and it was really good fun. We managed to spend less that £100 a day on food and snacks and that included eating out almost every night. A somewhat controversial opinion here…..I don’t like Rome. Far too overwhelming for me but perhaps my opinion would change if it was a different time of the year. Temperatures ranged from 23 degrees in Calais down to 43 degrees in Italy The 10 year old found Italy too warm but the teenager loved it. In total we used 3 and a half tanks of fuel and our beautiful T5 didn’t miss a beat. The worst part of the journey? The fricking M25 on the way home. 3 lanes closed, part of the Dartford Tunnel closed and what should’ve been an easy 3.5 hours drive back turned into just under 7 hours. Countries covered - France Belgium Switzerland Luxembourg and Italy which beats our previous record of 4 visited in one trip last year. Already planning next years trip!
  14. The loss of a child is a pain that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. It’s such a numbing, empty feeling that is like no other pain I have ever known. To have lost a child in such a horrific way is incomprehensible and I don’t know how these poor parents will carry on. We send our children to these holiday clubs hoping they’ll have the best time and come home talking absolute nonsense about their day. Instead these poor children and parents have had their lives changed forever in the blink of an eye.
  15. We stayed in Graglia but now further down near Rome in a village called Roccantica
  16. Currently in Italy for 10 nights having driven from good old Leicestershire. Stopped off in Luxembourg and was totally taken aback as to how stunningly beautiful it is. Definitely one to go back and explore. Also stopped off in Switzerland, Lausanne, for lunch and a break. Again, stunning. Exciting to see Lake Geneva being prepped for the Olympics. Stayed over in Northern Italy for a night and I have to say that I feel a little bit underwhelmed by the country so far. I’m hoping once I’ve acclimatised to the 40 degree+ heat I’ll start to love it more. 1256 miles covered in 3 days and was so thankful to have our T5 VW as we stored loads of food and drink in there. Avoided the ££££ of the French toll roads, paid €70 combined to enter and leave Switzerland and €54 on the Italian tolls. Fuel in Luxembourg was £1.28 per litre of diesel so topped up the tank there. Will take the tolls back to France when we leave. Have a few nights camping at the foot of Mont Blanc before heading back home.
  17. It also depends on how old your house is. We looked at this but because we have a 70’s house, they wouldn’t even entertain it
  18. Do I think 3 years was a bit stupid? Yup but I’ll be the one to say it…..I blinking love Vesty (he’s my every game £1 bet to score first and to score anytime)
  19. Manchester Half in October is a good one as the course is fast and flat . I took 6 minutes of my PB there last year.
  20. Livingston Relays? I managed my fastest run in a long time at Mallory Park yesterday - 25:37 - so a decent benchmark and I’m building up to PB mission. Started first in the relay team and had to endure the most ridiculous rain. It felt good and we finished 9th as a Vet Women’s team. It wa amazing to see our men’s senior team come second with our fastest runner coming home in a little over 15 minutes
  21. 4th from bottom having had to win big at the last game of the season.
  22. Aston Hall is good fun but not one to race! If you want a decent fast’ish course, Edgbaston Reservoir is good fun as is Oaklands.
  23. Check out Start Fitness. They tend to have last seasons trainers at a great price.
  24. I was good today until Albrighton and Vardy were down in front of the Kop having their moment to celebrate. Seeing the duo together hit home just how amazing both he and Vardy have been for us
  25. Absolutely no idea as to how I’m going to survive today at work but I would not swap this feeling for anything right now! What a night
