I’m sure with a bit of thought it’s possible to set up a set of rules and parameters that acknowledge that the top 6 derive more revenue, but allow other clubs to stand a chance of competing. The question is whether that would be accepted by those top clubs. If they throw their weight around I’ve no doubt the football authorities would quickly cave. I’m sure they are much more content with the current cartel.

Perhaps a better PSR model would be a hybrid that in addition to the current 3 year loss, owners would be allowed to put in up to a certain amount of their own money annually, but in the form of a gift, not a loan. This would keep the club solvent in the event that the owner loses interest and decides to sell (as I understand this is the justification for PSR), whilst permitting genuine investment. By capping such an annual investment to the same for all clubs it would allow some clubs outside the rich 6 to compete.

It does seem incredibly naive. It actually gives an incentive to a person of lesser integrity to perform poorly in the hope of getting sacked and gaining an immediate windfall payoff. Whether or not Rodgers actually did this or not we can’t really know, but he clearly didn’t have much incentive to try harder.

Really exciting end to the season for fans and neutrals alike. Just because we’re likely to be on a heartbreak end to things this season doesn’t affect that. Without these draws there wouldn’t be as much interest in the FL. Obviously it needs to stay as it is. Can’t think of a more fitting end to a season.

What a relief! Got no finger nails left. Good solid win like of old. Great response to criticisms. The players and Enzo looked like it really meant something, so hopefully more committed than I had feared. Job well done.

Perhaps players with an eye on playing for a different club next season. Perhaps all the back office bullshit that’s going on the FFP or whatever it’s now called. Doesn’t help that Enzo only has one style.
