Private renting is only more versatile if you can afford to move though, my point about the deposit makes moving very difficult for private tenants. Council house exchanges are a possibility for council tenants, although I have no experience of how easy or difficult they are, they do exist. If you can´t afford a second deposit or the higher private rental costs you can´t afford to move anyway, so you´d still be better off ´stuck´ in a much cheaper council property. Billions of pounds are spent by the government in the UK every year in housing benefit payments, it would be interesting to know how much of this is paying the mortgages of houses owned by landlords in the private rental sector.

There could be lots of issues, not least that most renters typically don´t have savings. When you agree a rental you have to pay a hefty deposit which you often don´t get back for weeks after you move out. How do people find the money for a sizeable second deposit before they´ve received the first one back? People have families with children in schools, they might have elderly relatives nearby that rely on them, they might live on the bus route to their job, or have a fairly short commute, maybe they don´t drive and live within walking distance to the shops, doctors, work, their friends. These are all things you take in to account when renting a property. If people are evicted and then can´t find another suitable and affordable property in the same area it can have a massive effect on a whole family for all or some of the reasons listed above, and probably more that I haven´t thought of. It´s not easy to just find something else nearby to where you currently live which you can afford. Not suggesting these apply to @Torquay Gunner btw, just thinking of the time I rented in the UK. Council housing enabled people to have a more stable long term home than the private rental market allows, and a stable home is key for every family´s wellbeing.

Where should they sit for you to feel less inclined to just ignore them?

Wholegrain mustard, grated cheddar, or pesto, all lovely added to mash. Never tried an egg though.

I'm always amazed when someone posts something from the LM, the website is virtually unusable. Who has the time and patience to navigate round all the ads?! -

Haha it sounds like our daughters would get on well together

I feel your pain, my 17 year daughter wants an iPhone too. I've told her I'll disown her, any half wit who chooses Apple shit over the far superior Android has no place in my family.

I´ve never understood people who enjoy going shopping just for a look, just browsing as something to do. Shopping for me is a chore, wandering around busy shops with no purpose is my idea of hell, not pleasure.

Haha I just said in the match thread, Matt Elliott looks like he's just come back from an afternoon out in the sunshine on the beer! -

I wasn´t sure where to put this, but this thread will do. We get around 850mbps downstairs, but this reduces to only around 350 upstairs. I´ve been looking at a wifi extender, but it seems that mesh is better, has anyone got any recommendations please, or pros and cons between them please?

Now we´re expecting the imminent arrival of the new TV, is it worth buying a new soundbar to get the benefits of Dolby Atmos? Presumably the built in speakers on the TV won´t be up to much, but is it worth upgrading the soundbar too, or just sticking to our existing one which sounds OK with our current TV?

If that was the comparison than I would agree. But we are not comparing arresting 16-17 year old teenagers for throwing rocks at soldiers to abducting children, some as young as 4 years old, are we? The Palestinian children, and that´s what they are at 16 and 17, who would ´only´ have been arrested previously are becoming statistics of deaths at the hands of the IDF. Some are actually as young as 10, and those who were previously ´lucky´ to only be arrested were subjected to abuse, torture, and violations against international law. This has been going on for decades, you´d have to do some incredible mental gymnastics wouldn´t you to not agree that this regime is also evil, which was the point originally made? Unless you feel that children being shot at for throwing stones at tanks in occupied land is fair, I suppose.
