  1. All I can recall about my visit to Salzburg, some 35+ years ago, is that everything, absolutely everything, had a picture of Mozart on it.
  2. Wow! That's an impressive security list - do you work in counter terror/security services? My old neighbour had to have his house security proofed due to a threat from dissident republicans, and didn't get that lot. Mind you, he did have a gun so, there was that extra protection
  3. No, thankfully his contract ends June 2025.
  4. Salah is an excellent footballer, but Messi is an exceptional footballer. Posing stuff on the internet doesn't make it true. I cite half the posts on this forum as an example
  5. The average is probably about £2,500m2 https://www.homebuilding.co.uk/advice/how-much-does-an-extension-cost
  6. Just been to see James Martin Live, he had a section on food of yesteryear. Including a candle salad, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candle_salad I'm glad It's no longer still a popular food choice The Wimpy Bender in a Bun also featured, I did like a Wimpy, but fortunately don't remember that.
  7. So, you were right. Someone has thrown paint at the wall.
  8. Garnacho scores that against us.
  9. Don't blame him!
  10. The squad will be completely overhauled next season. Vardy will retire. Anyone half decent will be sold, as we won't be able to afford half of the wages we're paying now in the championship.
  11. Glad you are enjoying it @tom27111 I think we may have mentioned that owning an EV is great
  12. It very much depends on your itinerary, we have kept them for the whole cruise but on other occasions they take them all, do the necessary immigration and stamps for you. Was that your Marella Canaries cruise? Or the Middle East?
  13. You've just acclimatised to doing it now, I guess. And, if you did get mugged in Spain, you can still just drive home. For me, it's the perceived hassle that I'm away from home, I'd need to find an Embassy or Consulate to get an emergency one to fly home. Even more awkward if I'm off on a cruise and not based in one City. I've got a land/cruise tour of Asia later this year, and I think we'll need to keep our passports with us when we're out there. Now I've rephrased my Google search, I think I'll get something like this. I'd feel more secure having it in a separate bag to all the general stuff in a backpack. And, I recall talking to someone recently who had their card scammed using the NFC/contactless chip, one of these with a blocker would be extra secure for that reason, too. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DG28DPSY
  14. Thinking of ways to keep items secure about your person when travelling, an alternative to the backpack we'd usually have. I thought I'd have a look online, as I've seen belt bags etc advertised before. Realised searching for 'secure body bag' probably wasn't the best phraseology
  15. I went to a restaurant in SF, the table wasn't ready, so we were invited to sit and get a drink at the bar. Bartender didn't move more than 1ft to pour 2 glasses of wine. The wine was $15 per glass, plus 10% state tax, and then he wanted an 18/20% tip. For pouring a glass of wine, that was next to him. Needless to say, that didn't happen. Stupidly, I've booked to go next year as well Although, it should just be 1 night in Miami and a couple in Seattle. I am angling to swerve Seattle and go to Toronto instead, though. All subject to Donald not ducking up access to the Panama Canal, so.... Not sure if the Chinese are going to take a dim view of my current valid ESTA
  16. Costs in the US have increased dramatically. I know they have in most countries but, I went to San Francisco and LA in October, hotels, food and drink were nearly double my last trip to the US. The menu prices are bad enough, and then they add 10% state tax and 20% service charge (unless you spot it and remove).
  17. I tended to do this outside of Europe and just have a driving licence but, Deb was advising, in Spain your DL isn't accepted. I went to Zeebrugge last week, we were informed we must have our passport with us, which surprised me. I prefer leaving it in the hotel/ship safe where it can be accessed in the event of an emergency (or missing the ship) and figured if you're mugged, it's easier to replace your DL at home, rather than not be able to get home without your passport.
  18. I've always had my driving licence, do they not accept those? I keep that with me on holiday, when out and about, with my passport in the safe. Unless I've has specific instruction to have my passport.
  19. My Dad still has one of these, along with a cut throat razor.
  20. There are plenty that do more than 270 and the range is vastly increasing. If you bought one, you could charge whilst at the match. People with home chargers rent theirs out at a much lower rate that the Corporate ones. If you were here long enough or you could just top up enough miles to get you home, paying a few ££, instead of a lot of ££ in fuel. I just did a 300 mile trip, just charged an extra 80 or so miles for £20 ish, during a normal comfort break.
  21. It would be fine. I always consider the BB dates a rough guide, only recently finished the eggs which had a November date on.
  22. The curry's Tech Centre is a lottery. I've had a few repairs and instances of help. But, I had a laptop that suddenly became as slow as Ayew. The tech guys told me it was my WiFi, despite having numerous other laptops and devices whizzing along. It was under warranty cover so, I insisted, it was sent away. It returned a couple of weeks later, total rebuild, with all new components. I was delighted to collect from the same tech guy and confirm 'so it wasn't my wifi'.
  23. My excursion did drop me off outside the Heineken museum Fortunately, lunch had other options available. Bruges today, so, I'm hopeful of even better choices.
  24. No, I'm on a ship, somewhere approaching Amsterdam.
  25. The only draught we've got is also Heineken. Fortunately, someone had been to the stores or some bottles were loaded at the last port and the Peroni was back in stock
