  1. No worries at all. We were undecided between paving and tarmac and were going to compare prices. We were told that they're about the same now, generally due to the increased cost of tarmac. But ours is definitely less than the paving quoted for yours, per sqm. But, yes, it's a lot of money to do it. As I've currently got approx 150sqm of bad beige gravel, I'm hoping it'll be a significant improvement and money well spent. Tarmac does come in different colours, we only wanted black so didn't explore other options. It can definitely look bland if it's just all the same. We're having a couple of rows of grey blocks all around the edges to break it up. A paved area and some flower beds.
  2. @Bellend Sebastian I asked our chap for a rough cost, 45sqm of block paving. £6-7K depending on blocks chosen etc. I was going to ask if you'd considered tarmac as our price per sqm is less than that, but I think our cost is reduced as we're having about 100+sqm of it, and it costs less in bulk.
  3. Gutted for Kasey and gutted for us. Been doing so well, such a shame.
  4. I don't think the online guide prices have been updated for a while. We had a similar project at the old house about 8 years ago and, if I recall the costs were about £80m². That was just tarmac and block edges. As with everything recently, costs have escalated. We asked about resin for that and the costs were at least double then! I've just divided our overall quote by the m². If it was just for an actual drive and no other groundwork I'd hope the cost would be a bit less for you. We must have about £1k in there just for new top soil! And meters of edging kerbs for said flowerbeds. We're literally ripping up the whole of the frontage of the house, the whole area is currently an awful gravel thing and starting again.
  5. We had quotes for ours a couple of months ago. For block or tarmac with block edges. Our quotes did include some landscaping i.e. creating 3 new large flowerbeds and replacing 2 steps. The prices ranged from £130 to £180m² You'll pay a lot more for resin. Edited to add. Work should start on Tuesday. I'll let you have the details, if we're happy and assuming you're Leicester based.
  6. Having watched 2 trained chaps carefully, cut down a tree half that size in our garden, it stuck me as very odd that a 16 yo just rocked up in the night and managed that so cleanly.
  7. Why does anyone else at all care about the Mrs V and Mrs R antics? Millions of pounds in court for a "she said, you said" silliness!
  8. Would anyone like a free compost bin? Collection from Whitwick.
  9. Unfortunately, some people had that attitude at the height of the pandemic, so it's unlikely they'll be more considerate now.
  10. Cov have a new third kid. Which there are no words to describe....
  11. Are you spying on me 😳 You're spot on, unfortunately. And, every medical professional you meet starts their sentences with "at your age". Said professionals all look about 15, just to make it worse. Collected an upgraded set of varifocal contact lenses today so, I'm feeling the age pain
  12. Gave up on Radio 2 a couple of years ago. It's now full of the Radio 1 djs that caused me to leave that.
  13. There was an additional tweet about contacting providers and refunds.
  14. None of those are me
  15. I'm in the Kop, behind the goal. I was standing, everyone near me was standing. I'm not sure what everyone more than a few seat away was doing as I was watching the penalty.
  16. What do people consider the protocol or appropriate action if you've got Covid now? Are people isolating and/or their household? One of our footie group arrived on Saturday and said their partner tested positive during the week. Partner isn't well so is at home. Mate cancelled a visit to elderly (ish) parents but came out with us. I'd sort of assumed people would still stay at home. Given we're being told this is a new bad version, I wasn't sure how to feel about their decision. I know we can't do the whole hide away forever but surely we should show some caution. My primary concern was they could not have it but, still pass it to me and I've to take my very elderly parents to hospital appointments this week. So can't avoid them to be sure.
  17. According to Google, red card suspension applies to all domestic competitions. In 2020 the rules changed for yellow card suspensions, and they're only applicable to the competition they were issued in.
  18. Attempted to switch to Octopus Intelligent tariff today. Followed all of the instructions on the app. Nope. Error! Despite the car being on the approved list, it's seemingly not connecting. Not a great start.
