  1. Macron and Schulz did their best to get matching suits, Cameron didn’t even try!
  2. I can identify with that. We had a vicious geography teacher called Mr Morgan, who used to love skippering kids. He was obviously a Trekkie, because he used to rate his “efforts” warp factor xxx depending on how hard he hit you. Think I got an 7 once. The 70’s was such fun!
  3. The Boys season 4 coming next week. Nice.
  4. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/05/31/boris-johnson-donald-trump-conviction-liberal-hit-job/ From one unfit PM to one unfit President. Two peas same pod.
  5. I think that’s in large part down to the disparity in media coverage between the two countries. Let’s face it, there is a lot less to report on an autocracy. The same could be said for North Korea and many other countries that are similarly reviled.
  6. That was class, never judge a book by its cover.
  7. Sorry I should clarify, I am not saying that you have some sympathy with the Saudi regime, just that I find the differences between the cultures are night and day and am not more prepared to accept those differences.
  8. I get that. I am probably at the point where I should 'confess to being Anglo American' ( on my father's side). It's been a very long time since I was there( actually just after Clinton was elected)! The older I have become the more alienated I feel from them. Trump's arrival on the political scene has certainly exacerbated that feeling. I have to disagree with you though about Saudi Arabia. I think they are an odious regime and a fair few people I know feel the same way. An amazing time to be in the US though!
  9. Those conversations must wear you down. I don’t mind contrary views, but when rationale goes totally out of the window, I struggle. I hear what you say, but still hard to believe they could believe a professional grifter like Trump. If the boos were anything to go by, they did not sound like they believed him last week when he spoke at their convention!
  10. That’s an interesting perception, particularly as you are living out there. I would like to ask these independents/libertarians how would they see Trump’s second presidential term of office playing out. You mentioned ‘government overreach’ but they may prefer to vote for a man who admires totalitarian leaders. It is clear from what Trump has said that he would like to make the government in his own image, that would include seeking retribution against news media that he doesn’t like, rolling back of LGBTQ and other civil rights and we know his extreme views on immigration. This would seem to be total anathema to the Libertarian party.
  11. The jubilation is because Trump is quite unpopular outside his maga base. The fact that he is now a felon is another ‘first’ for him. Only time will tell how much this affects the election.
  12. I suspect his conviction would turn off a lot of independent voters who were struggling to make up their minds.
  13. I think Bob De Niro would cheering him on from the side lines! 😭
  14. More likely some sort of probation/community service. I would like to see him pick up litter on Times Square.
  15. Think the BT guy was on a wind-up! 🤣
  16. What’s that got to do with them, they should stick to serving coffee and cake. 😜
  17. Trump has this down to a tee.
  18. Brilliant by Littler, how many of these is he going to win. Talk about a licence to print money.
  19. Found it difficult to believe, she had no idea the post office conducted their own prosecutions. If true (which I doubt) makes her look like a dimwit.
  20. I will be happy for him to continue managing them, although I would expect him to get sacked at some point during next season. Seems a square peg in a round hole there.
  21. Thing is Ten Haag spent a lot more money than Arteta did over first two seasons.
  22. I agree, I have always thought that his teams don’t actually excite me. Liverpool, on the other hand under Klopp’s reign for the most part have played attractive football. If he had managed someone like Aston Villa, or West Ham and guided them to multiple titles I would have been impressed.
  23. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news Many of these carers had no idea they were being overpaid. Just another vulnerable section of society this despicable government wants to go after. Meanwhile Sunak’s wealth rose by another £122m last year. Welcome to the Twilight Zone!
  24. I think Vardy will have that one for quite a while yet. 🫣
