  1. Thursday’s episode of The boys, crying out loud, how many fetishes can you cram into one show! 🤢
  2. The short answer is no. The President can only be removed prematurely through impeachment.
  3. It is Biden’s fault, through his arrogance to run for that 2nd term and equally The Democratic Party for their acquiescence. It reminds me of 1980’s Soviet Russia, when three aged presidents dropped dead in office within three years( they were all younger than Biden btw). They looked a bit like waxwork dummies and Biden is starting to resemble one! The Democrats should have had a succession plan worked out and Biden could have nominated his successor be that Harris, or someone else. Too dangerous to placate an old man’s vanity, by not giving themselves the best chance to beat Trump.
  4. Just hope it’s a decent game. So far this has been the worst Euros I have ever seen, France in the semi final without a goal from open play. Unreal.
  5. Hard to believe he could not empathise with his background. Not having Sky should have been a vote changer.
  6. A lot of people don’t have children or grandchildren, so only concern themselves with the here and now. Selfish possibly, but logical from their point of view.
  7. Well done Lib Dems and Greens, but very disappointed that our smug Tory held on to his seat by his fingertips (124 seats from Labour!). Low voter turnout continues to be a problem. When will they change?
  8. Do you mean his “I will end the war in 24 hrs” nonsense? The oil Russia ends up selling to the US in their shadow tankers, is a drop in the ocean compared to the billions they make selling to China and India. As for weapons, is he also going to supply US troops to Ukraine, as lack of man power continues to be their major headache. I am aware he would be like to be known as a strong man, but really 🤣. TBH, I can’t remember any foreign policy triumphs from his last term, so what makes you think he will better next time around?
  9. More like the US is f***** if Trump gets in and one of the first things he will do is to cut off funding to Ukraine .
  10. Polling is not known for being particularly accurate in the US, so I wouldn’t be swayed by that.
  11. That decision could actually help Biden. Independents should be looking at that ruling and think how that could play out if Trump wins in November.
  12. 20 mins in this is muck. Might have to switch back to Wimbledon.
  13. Labour to get our local smug Tory out (elected in 2005!), but prefer Green policies.
  14. The final was always going to be an anti climax, England are too good. Unlike the football team they played to their potential.
  15. You can say “older people should work longer” as well but in reality it’s harder and harder for people over 70 to either be physically capable of so much labour or of being actually able to find a job as many companies just won’t hire older people. Edited 3 hours ago by Sampson I agree with this, sadly I’ve known lots of people that have never even made it to the original pension age of 65. To my mind 67 is too old to expect to work full time in the fast paced and modern world we live in today. Of course there will many people who are happy to continue to work beyond 67 and many people that for financial reasons feel they have no choice, but to do so. I don’t know how governments should deal with the tax angle, but pushing the working age ever higher is surely not the answer.
  16. I realize I am coming late into The Terror(ITV), but two episodes in quite impressed. Excellent British cast, authentic sets, hope it continues on that level.
  17. How pathetic was that ‘ I’m better at Golf than you’ are exchange. Two kids in a playground.
  18. If your hypothesis that the entire government apparatus turns Republican comes true, it can of course have terrible implications for the wider world. Trump has made veiled threats about withdrawing from NATO, in a way that no previous US President has. He never seems to publicly criticise Putin and is likely to surround himself with ‘yes men’ including military commanders. Just hope this nightmare scenario does not play out.
  19. The only positive for the Democrats is that there is still four months before the election. The next debate is September. Just not sure how they improve the optics without removing Biden.
  20. Just watched the highlights of that debate. What a shitshow. Biden at times looked as though he had just wondered off from his carer and Trump lying his arse off, as only a pathological liar can. Hard to understand why the Democrats couldn’t field another viable candidate. Wonder how many people just won’t bother to vote.
  21. Today we won the adjudication from The Deposit Protection Service, after our previous landlords tried to stiff us for £400 for redecoration costs. This is for a property we rented for 7 years, in which time there had been no redecoration undertaken during our tenancy! Petty bastards, so glad it went against them.
  22. Feel the same, need to remove the tories, but it’s all very meh for me. Jaded by the whole shooting match.
  23. I just wish they would make up their minds, is he ‘sleepy Joe’ or ‘jacked up Joe’? Thing is they can say what they like, because their base will believe anything they’re told. Like to think the independent voters will be more discerning.
  24. First US Presidential debate tomorrow and MAGA have been peddling this tripe recently.
