  1. Says the UK’s wonderful recent Prime Minister!
  2. Anyone old enough to remember ‘All in the game’ a football competition shown on ITV in the 70,s that comprised of fitness and skills events such as beat the goalie and free kicks over a wall that were then put in a basket by the keeper. I think half a dozen First Division clubs(inc Leicester)and some Scottish teams took part. The legends that were Dickie Davies and Brian Moore were the hosts. I can’t find a clip unfortunately!
  3. Yes the opening episode of the True Detective has a slightly Fortitude feel to it and I loved Fortitude!
  4. American Nightmare, 3 part docu on Netflix. Absolutely bizarre case and once again US Law Authorities don’t come out of it too well.
  5. The deceit, lies and sheer vindictiveness shown by the senior officials in the Post Office should result in criminal prosecutions. Sadly corporate criminality is rarely punished. The game is severely rigged.
  6. Not where I live.
  7. Toffee apples.
  8. Poor Jordan, did he not like the desert heat?
  9. On the BBC News this morning they interviewed a Trump supporter, who had just cast his vote and said he could not understand how anyone else would not vote for Trump. It really does not bear thinking about the damage he could cause if re-elected.
  10. Watched the second episode and quite like these kind of black comedies, chaotic but has a certain kind of charm.
  11. Inflicting your musical tastes on other people in public is narcissistic and frankly scummy. The amount of times I have been on a train and some tosser has been playing their music, sans earphones and I have had to resist the impulse to rip the phone out of their hands and stamp on it. Mine you I do have quite low tolerance!! 🤬
  12. Put a spurt on and if our eyes meet, flash a weak smile.
  13. The game is rigged sadly. Unless you have money and influence, although then you probably wouldn’t be battling it, you would be part of it.
  14. I know what you mean. There are certain players’ throws I like and dislike. I admire Peter Wright’s precision in his action, like he has his elbow fixed on a table. I used to love Jocky Wilson’s (showing my age) idiosyncratic throw, particularly when he jumped off his feet and yet still found the 60 bed! I don’t like Joe Cullen’s action, as I cannot work out how he aims his darts! Brendan Dolan’s action also irritates me, it looks like throw and pray! It is very exciting to watch players capable of hitting the turbo, particularly when it’s close. For that reason and because he seems like a nice guy Humphries is very watchable.
  15. Most incredible match I have ever seen. Sorry for Dobey, but you can see why Cross has already won this tournament.
  16. I would like to see a Littler v Dobey semi final, as it will be interesting to see how the youngster reacts when put under real pressure. These two guys for me have so far been the stand outs.
  17. The bath plug.
  18. They were shocking, we beat them 11-2 on aggregate and Adebayor of all people got a double hat-trick!,
  19. A little bit like Rooney when he was he 16, maybe minus the beard,!
  20. Yes, I will be in the situ as you in a couple of months. Hopefully you get most of yours back and can challenge any piss-taking. We have already been asked to fill in any holes in the wall caused by hanging pictures, even though they know we have never hung pictures.
  21. He was the star of The Driver, a great 70’s thriller with Bruce Dern.
  22. Yeah, I think foxesdeb has summed it up very well. Appreciate the empathy though.
  23. My partner and I just got served with a sec 21, after living in the property for 7 years. Fortunately we knew it was coming and have some funds to find somewhere else decent. Sadly a lot of people won’t necessarily be able to do the same. Governments generally don’t give a toss about renters. I suppose a fair few MPs are landlords themselves.
  24. Yes awful stuff, as of yet I know nothing of these kids’ backgrounds. However, thinking back to the Bulger case Venables had a relatively ‘ normal upbringing’ and Thompson’s was horrendously abusive. Yet Thompson has apparently stayed out of trouble, while Venables has been in and out prison. Brianna’s killers may have had difficult childhoods, or they may just be inherently evil. It will be interesting to know what motivated them to act as they did, as the trial progresses.
  25. Just started ‘Lawman Bass Reeves’ on Paramount plus with David Oyelowo and Dennis Quaid. Two episodes in it and it looks impressive.
