West Brom (Home) Pre Match Thread - Jan 5th
Number 6 replied to RedSoxUK's topic in Leicester City Forum
Feel this will be a bit like the Derby game. Two poor sides, winner will be whoever makes the fewest mistakes. -
Surely with the level of individual ability we have in the squad you'd attempt to work out a way which keeps us defensively solid. With that as a foundation these moments of individual brilliance would be more likely to be worth points rather than consolation goals. A basic level of competence would have us in and around the playoffs.

Sheff Utd 3-1 LCFC, post match thread
Number 6 replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Having one of these types of game on a season would be bad, but there have been multiple games where we just haven't turned up. The squad isn't great but Mart is getting far less out of them than he should be. -
I feel like we're the opposite of the Prem Stoke team. If a "cold wet night in Stoke" is the benchmark for a night you know you're going to have to work for it, any game against this Leicester side is an underarm bowl.
-
And yet, having watched that half, it feels like that chart has a generous amount of blue on it.
-
And there it is.
-
Do we even train?
-
How is that not a booking?
-
One man pressing. No cohesion. Look very poor here. Guess there will be spells on away games where you have to dig in and hold on, but we look much the inferior side thus far.
-
Decent results for those worried about a potential relegation.
-
In that case they were fairly supportive of bombing out players he didn't want weren't they? This seems an unrealistic expectation on what backing he was going to get to be honest.
-
We may disagree on how well backed he's been. Huge investment in the squad before he arrived too, he's hardly short of very good footballers. If he requires that level of investment to do well then maybe he's not that good a manager?
-
Sure. But you can't expect a club like Chelsea to be delighted to be used in that way.
-
The standard of keeping for that Wrexham opener 😂
-
This would be two jobs where he was very quick to ditch and go elsewhere though.
-
Ornstein suggesting this started when Maresca informed the higher ups that he was talking to Man City about the potential vacancy there (as he had to per his Chelsea contract). Can kind of understand Chelsea's view in that case.
-
Points wise they're as close to 16th as they are to 2nd to be fair. I don't think he's done a terrible job but this season hasn't been great. People like Palmer are being hidden a bit in the system too. I think the bigger impact will be the one we felt too: an organised and thought out transfer approach. They'll go back to scatter gun signings now and will be a mess.
-
Ah our one good player scored.
-
Giving them the chance to rectify mistakes against Watford made sense. Not changing now after another defeat in our most congested period fixture wise seems odd. We don't have brilliant options but could have given Monga a start or mixed up the formation a little, just something different.
-
Yep, people say they want the young academy lads to get game time and learn but it's a ****ing awful environment for that at times. Not helped by this crowd response when someone's going through a poor patch.

Do we really want promotion this season ??
Number 6 replied to Timfox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yeh just having a scan back to the last time we were in the division. This seasons Coventry would be sitting third, 4 behind Ipswich and 7 behind us. They'd be 6 ahead of Leeds and Southampton. -

I think promotion becomes harder with each passing season that we don't achieve it. Sooner is better financially, even if we were to go up and just take the money and finish 20th, it would help the finances immensely. Problem in the Champ is building is difficult. Very susceptible to players getting poached and ultimately we'd need a season like this where the relegated clubs struggle. -
The only thing that could quell my anger over this game is a free can of Chang.

Well this thread's about to get hot.
