I reckon it's partly Pep and partly the super advanced analytics now. Happening across loads of sports, I remember seeing the below on how it's changed basketball.

Not sad about this one though think we do need to add in some creativity with the funds now. Hopefully there is the chance to do this. -
Buying a striker is no guarantee of success either by the way. As a club we could say "f it" and gamble on a striker, but there's no guarantee of promotion, probably just a guarantee of more points deductions. Whatever striker we buy could do his ACL on his debut. We need to get our finances in order as a priority.

Think the difference this year may be that some of those who scraped by have been pillaged. Wolves lost Ait Nouri, and Cunha, with Strand Larson potentially going. Brentford are without Frank, Wissa, Mbeumo. If Spurs and Utd hadn't focussed entirely on Europe last season I think we'd have seen 17 teams finish on 40+ points. I'm not sure the promoted sides this season will be hitting those figures. Also, it's been 3 games and they've beat Brentford and West Ham. Let's see where they are come May.

Ipswich 2-2 Derby (AET)

Classic Ipswich.

Didn't expect us to answer HITC's "is this the best Championship team ever?" question so quickly.
-
Ipswich benefitted from momentum last time they were in the Champ, they have the opposite momentum this time. Was surprised how negative their fans were about their prospects.

He's not the long term solution but his stretching of the pitch is so valuable imo. He was fouled early after coming on in the last two for off the ball pulls, just causes defenders headaches. I don't know why we'd prefer starting Ayew who has the opposite effect. Play Daka and give us some space to play plus a long ball option.

You can see the evolution and what he has been working on. It's not perfect but the defensive shape is much better. Give him the couple of additions he needs now to link into an attack and we're talking.

3-0 incoming. Skipp hat trick.

Have been impressed with his in game changes. Hasn't been afraid to be proactive and make them early too. Got a few bits and pieces wrong, and we haven't started any game particularly well or generally played brilliantly, but he's still learning and has no idea what he'll be left with next week.

There's a lot of speculative stuff, but the Aperol post while his teammates were taking another beating on the way to relegation is pretty indisputable? He didn't have to post anything but chose to take a swipe at the club. There was still a possible redemption for him if he came back with the right attitude under the new manager but he hasn't. It couldn't be clearer that he doesn't want to be here. People only making excuses for him because our midfield is so weak.

If there's a way we can replace Winks for a new CM and remain PSR neutral on that transaction then we should do it. It would be best for all parties. The relationship seems broken, but at least he hasn't downed tools like a few players seem to have this summer.

Wout Faes (Besiktas interest, Fabrizio Romano)

If we can squeeze a positive PSR result out of a Faes sale then it's the easiest decision of the summer for me. Better for all involved. -
We need to lean far more into the academy side of things and Seagrave should be brilliant for this. I said before that I wouldn't go as far as mandating academy products into the match day squad, but I think actually we should. 3 academy players in every match day squad, minimum. 2 starters for all league cup games, minimum. Every manager should be hired with this in mind. No deviation. The academy set up should also be there to facilitate players improving and getting first team chances. The younger teams should play stylistically like the first team does. If the first team manager wants to try a youngster as a winger, he should be playing as a winger in the youth team. A joined up approach. We need to be seen as a club that will nurture young talent, give them game time and experience, and then not hinder a big move of they get it. It feels like we invested in Seagrave and then just ticked the "invest in youth" box on the checklist, but it's only part of the picture.

27 of our 41 shots were against Sheff Weds. Any overall stats are going to be heavily skewed by that anomaly of a game at present. Need 10 games ish before we can draw any conclusions. -
Mads Hermansen sold to West Ham - Official

Watching the highlights back it seems he was adamant that he was getting the ball for the 4th and 5th goals. Like he's been instructed to get his ass off the line. Doesn't seem to play to his strengths but maybe they have doubts over their CBs too. -
Is the transfer embargo in the room with us now?

Charlton 0-1 LCFC, post-match thread
Number 6 replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
I remember when we signed him and a lot of Palace fans were talking about his ability to win free kicks, but I didn't realise it was his only thing. You can see the cogs in his head turn when he gets the ball: "right, get myself between the ball and opponent, now fall over". -
Wtf is this. There's no embargo.

Terrible job by the man on the post there
