Fulham won it in 21/22 with 90 points. Will probably end up being around 4th/5th in this season. Crazy pace set.
-
Scanning through remaining games I've got: Leicester 100 Leeds 98 Ipswich 95 Southampton 92
-
Have they stolen our set piece coach? https://twitter.com/diffanalysis/status/1766810592000581658?t=hGs_Jv87XMQaFSwhkh76Bw&s=19

The guy is on fire!

Context works both ways for this. I would be disappointed by second, I think given our position it would be a **** up when we could and should have been looking at posting a ridiculous points total. But if we hit say 100 points and get pipped to that title by Leeds then I don't think you could really grumble too much if we're posting what is normally a Champion's total.
-
Oh absolutely. Rodgers would never have been the right option. Should have bit the bullet and sacked him wayyyyy sooner. It's more about the decision made in the summer.
-
I think 100 points wins the league. As good as the top 4 have been, we're now at the business end of the season and slip ups will happen. There's a reason not many teams get above that 100 mark.
-
Would be an astonishing run of form in 2024 that would see them match Reading's points total. Fair play if they do it, but I don't see it.
-
That would have us on 103 and you fancy Leeds to beat that?
-
The rousing home support will see us through 😬
-
I think it was a good option in footballing terms, a really good one. It's more in the context of the financial issues that I'd question it.
-
All I'm saying is, on the last day of last season if you'd have looked at our squad and chosen a manager to get the best out of the current players at the time, you probably wouldn't have gone with Enzo. We made the transfer window more difficult imo.
-
It's better in the sense that they have a striker on 18 is all I'm saying. I think that's an area of our squad we are strong in and probably haven't utilised to its fullest.
-
The question was about getting the best out of strikers. Not what the best overall system is.
-
I don't think there's one right but one which places more emphasis on strikers than our current one does would probably lead to more goals. Southampton getting good returns from their forwards and I think ours are stronger.
-
In the right system any one of those 4 could be top scorers in this division.
-
The Enzo appointment was an interesting one and one I had very much been enjoying, but it does feel a bit strange given the financial stuff floating about. Negated our fullbacks which I think are very strong for the division, and probably doesn't utilise our striker firepower as much as it could. Arguably made a difficult transfer window even harder to navigate.
-
Sort of agree with this. I think this system is about long term payoff, if it fails in the Prem (should we get there) then it will have been a terrible route to go down. We've probably made it more challenging for ourselves this season. Having said that, a month or so ago we looked on course to set the points record.
-
Yeh probably the next on the list of tough games after Soton and WBA, but also at home. Norwich also have Ipswich too at least.
-
I think looking at the remaining fixtures across the top 4 I'm feeling fairly confident. We should get to at least 95. WBA and Soton the two toughest, both at home. Don't think there will be any gimmies for anyone now though with teams scrapping for survival/playoffs/autos.
-
I think so far this season there has been a symmetry to our games against teams. Many who caused us problems the first time also caused us problems the second: Leeds, Middlesbrough, Cov, Hull, Sunderland, QPR. Hopefully this works out the other way too!
-
2ppg for the remainder of the season would have us finish on 100 points, and you'd think that would be enough. International break has come at a good time. Get Ndidi up to speed, Ricardo back, and get this wrapped up.
-
Don't mind that point to be honest. Behind twice and showed some fight to get back. Seemed like we were still pushing for the win. Too often this season we've lost when we've played badly, having very few draws. The extra point could be really valuable.
-
I don't think that's a bad point tbh.

Tbf not sure how much a red at this stage would benefit us. They'd go very defensive.
