Feels like ages since we've had a whole day or weekend go how we needed it to. Even when we got the Sunderland win both Leeds and Ipswich won too. Results along the line you suggest would completely change the mood, particularly going into 3 more winnable games.

A manager like Enzo was an expensive choice given it came with a system not suited to the players we had at the club. With that said it's bizarre we didn't seem to get further loans from Man City given we'd play the system they do and it would be a cheaper route. Surely could have got an 8 or a winger from them in.

Said elsewhere that results trump performances at the moment, and that's true, but the trend in performances is very worrying. Given I thought we were worse against Sunderland than we were against Leeds, this bad run has not only been terrible for results, it has seen a decreasing level of performance.

Thought he was crap against Sheff Weds away. Admittedly may have not been helped by having very limited minutes this season. Again I think some rotation would have helped.
-
Doubt that Sheff U side would be getting promoted this year. 91 might only be good enough for 4th.

Not to mention on the business side their duty free had to go through a global pandemic where there was no travel. He's had to contend with things which Vichai didn't. I think the mistake here is to not have good football people in places to ensure good running of the club. He doesn't need to be all over the details of LCFC goings on if there are good people in place to do that.

I think it's probably better at this point to play a team on form than one were expected to beat. Slightly less pressure. Downside is that they're a good side though, and a win is far from guaranteed. Be a good one to break the run going into three winnable games though.

Looks an even worse decision from the other angle I've seen. The standard of reffing has never been so low. -
Not suggesting it's a bad position to take at all, just that with the view of the squad you have he's having a McKenna level season. I'd personally disagree and think he's doing averagely with a very good squad for this league. This is as much about my feeling that the league is utter turd as it is about us having outstanding players. As you say, so many variables in play and I don't think Ipswich or Leeds will win out. We won't know whether it's a good or bad season until that whistle goes against Blackburn.

That wasn't the bit I had quote responded to. There was a second comment about the team being miles better than the majority of the division, which is clearly true and clearly not in reference to the clubs up there with us. If that's what you think about our squad then you must be really pro-Enzo given he has such a terrible group up around the top of the table?
-
The bit you had responded to was a comment which said our squad was "miles better than most of the league", which is clearly true. It didn't said it was miles better than any championship team ever. Our midfield is wayyyyy better than average in this league.

Comparing to Leeds is not the point here is it? We do have one of the best midfields in the league: games against Leeds, Southampton, and even Ipswich account for 6/46 games. In the other 40 at least we have the stronger team. So the team is clearly stronger than the majority of the league, as claimed. We're clearly not performing at those levels at the moment though.
-
A big challenge for him is the experience of his competition too. Farke knows the Champ like the back of his hand and is very accustomed to winning the league. McKenna and Ipswich were pretty much in the exact same situation 12 months ago.

Except this doesn't seem to happen at all. There's always this theory that third will be deflated having been so close, and 6th may have a bit of momentum, but across previous seasons 3rd/4th is much more likely to be promoted. 6th hasn't won the playoffs since 2007.

Agent Cleverley doing a great job.

Dennis has been brilliant.

Balls. Brilliant hit.

Go on

If we don't get promoted then you think he'd be gone. If we squeak into second then he'd be starting with big questions over his head, and probably on borrowed time. If we go on a good run and go up then it may lift some doubts. Given the last scenario looks very unlikely it's probably not as ridiculous to think about sacking him as it sounds rather than wait 8 more games. We obviously made a move very late on last season too and even in a bad scenario there may be options who could better attack the playoffs.

They've kind of buried the myth that it's impossible to compete against the parachute payment clubs too.
-
Seemingly with an eye on the tough two games coming up. Smart management. Really poor that we only made 2 today.
-
We shall see.
-
Yes and at this point I don't think we'll get it. But if we do then we'll have deserved to.
-
Ok. Is that still true if we go on the get autos?
-
A completely separate point but ok.
