The security checks are tighter at the Leicester turnstiles 😃

In fact I think it was just a box you connected to the TV, no downloads or programming involved

In the 70s, one of the first course options at our local Chinese restaurant was a glass of orange juice. We thought it was a treat. Those were the days when orange juice came in a tin, or as crystals that you dissolved in water.

I remember the tennis game. There were 2 "bat" sizes - the smaller one being for "advanced" players

I was pleased to see the questions about the ridiculous and futile searches at the turnstiles

Good news! Burton have stayed up, so another local derby 😃

Eight days after winning the FA Cup in 2021, when we lost to Spurs and so didn´t qualify for the CL. Then the summer signings.......
-
Agreed. We didn´t sign a decent replacement for Vardy (we signed Daka) when we had money to spend. The last 2 windows we´ve had no money and ended up looking for bargain signings in Poundland, with the results that are obvious. The same goes for Cifuentes and Rowett - we appointed them because they were the cheapest options, again with the results that are obvious. As everyone here has stated many times, the recent lack of money is the result of gross financial mismanagement since summer 2021.

West Brom - Potential PSR breach

We'd be in the Conference now 🙂 -
In ironic mode: League 1 is proper football with proper clubs and proper fans, not like the Championship with its diving players, foreign owners etc. etc.

In Spain, and perhaps elsewhere, each club has to submit a valid financial plan for the following season before the current one has finished. If the Spanish league doesn´t accept it then that club is relegated, before the current season has finished (but still has to fulfil its fixtures). -
Him and Moore, that´s two players for next season then.

Bulbs can be a good choice as they flower, die off (don't cut them down when green) and flower again the next years.

The strangest thing ever at a football match

The Leicester fans who climbed up to the floodlights at Oxford, during an FA Cup game in January 1988 -
Their appeal has been rejected also

They will have to sell any player they get a decent offer for

Is the Championship heading for financial 'catastrophe'?
DJW1 replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yes. Stop the agents and other spivs from creaming off vast sums from the game. I think players can use the services of PFA representatives, for a fixed fee, to negotiate their transfers, contracts etc. I remember, in the 90s, that Chris Sutton used one to negotiate his 5 million quid move to Blackburn and he was charged around 1500 quid. -
You´ve got to get back to the station as well!

I was waiting for this before making my travel arrangements for these 2 games. So Friday night it is. Two possible outcomes are: 1. We lose, get relegated, Millwall go up and we get taunted by 3000 cockneys 2. We win, stay up, Millwall miss out on automatic promotion and 3000 cockneys are trying to kick our heads in I´ve got to get to the railway station afterwards. I can´t run very fast now, but I´d still take the second option

At the time we thought that game at Watford was a disaster, but with hindsight It was the catalyst that kickstarted the later triumphs

If it was serious they should have subbed him off at HT

City of Leicester & Leicestershire - The Good and Historical Stuff

In many cities you can spot buildings of that style (Art Deco?) (often former CO-OP dept. stores) from the 20s and 30s. As you say, new buildings tend to be just functional but not attractive. -
BBC and/or ITV only showing the second half of a live game (when live coverage of league games began, in the 1980s)
