Totally agree there is that too and like others have said maybe it’s a perfect storm of cluster Fuchs our players are experiencing. It’s really quite spectacularly bad what is happening. Worth even a scientific paper being written on. For me there is way too many individual errors going on in missing clear cut goals at the top end and absolutely clangers in the back! I would love to the see the stats on this for comparison. It’s the worth combination to suffer. Look at teams that win titles and it’s a very solid defence coupled with a dominating midfield and strikers that convert 90% of their chances.

Sorry to distract from hillsborough chat but does anyone else think the manner in which.arsenal stumbled yesterday reminds you of Leicester in its current predicament? I know we’ve blamed a lot of people for our struggles but maybe there is a psychological factor being on top here we aren’t considering. Why else would the players be blowing these games? It’s a collective mental issue.

Stick the ball in the back of the bloody net! We create enough chances just not converting nearly enough of them. That’s the shocking truth. Goals win games period.

Isn’t it a statistical fact that majority of players or teams that come up against a quality opponent; step up their game? The mindset is different it’s all psychology. You may still lose due to a gulf in quality but the game has a different dimension to it. anyway, I don’t care where the win comes from but it needs to come asap. It’s so exhausting to watch we all keep fearing what may happen next as the same patterns of play repeat themselves.we should be able to watch in comfort and enjoy our possession play but instead we’re all stressed out that we have’nt scored a goal as a result of it. It wasn’t even like this is the premier league (different stress ie, we do score but we can’t hold onto the lead)

Anyone watching the man city game? since Enzo wants to play this way no matter what I’m trying to see what man city do better. Luton have put up a good low block and city players been taking pot shots outside the box and eventually score. wonder why our players can’t do that or practise doing that?

Be nice if Ipswich drop their pants today too. At some point our players have to sort this debacle out and just go on and win these games. No more flippin excuses. find out what was working at the start of the season and do it again. Drop daka as he’s asking for it. Bring in canon and tell him he has 1 chance to prove himself. Let’s see how many goals he can bang in. They need motivation to fight.

This team needs a sports psychologist, a new striker coach, a new defensive coach, a new set piece coach and new back room staff that know more than 1 style of playing in the championship. It’s all a bit late now though

Enzo looks like a man who's crapped his pants and hoping no one has noticed. This game has gone sadly

I really really don't understand our team. We have totally dominated just not been clinical than we drop our pants on one break away and everything falls apart. Are we that weak and ineffective? It beggars belief. Plymouth could just park the bus now or go for a 2nd wouldn't surprise me if concede again. we have a weird team but atleast they are trying to get an equalizer!

The ol saying 'like flies on rice' comes to mind. Time to bang some goals in this half so we can just manage the game out easy 2nd half. No need to make this hard work.

This is a great thread in that it’s a worthy conversation to be had about coaching in general and all the challenges that come with it. There is no perfect time so might as well be now. Enzo is a very single minded chap we’ve firmly established that. He’s a graduate of the pep school of football. So was Arteta (his 1st season for the arses not good also). All things being equal we could have had a manager that has no identity and tries everything with little to no effect or results are inconsistent. We’d still likely complain. Personally I don’t mind Enzo ball if it’s played to the max speed & intensity. It’s a system and style that is not very forgiving if ALL the players don’t contribute and perform. If players are tired (like now) it’s mentally stressful to play it knowing your not at your best and you will make mistakes and the team will suffer but you have no safety line. see Enzo’s threat to madds mistake! i get Enzo has drilled the players into playing this way but given what’s at stake in these final games can he not throw some caution to the wind and use his subs more maybe practice a few different strategies. He does seem quite stunned when the opposition are unpredictable becoming paralyzed in the process. I know he’s learning but still the club could have insisted on maybe getting Walshy back as one of Enzo’s back room staff to provide some experience and support playing in the championship. It’s the nuances that Enzo doesn’t get and unable to adapt to. I hope for his sake and ours we get promotion and then ‘Que sera sera’. History will look back on it as an interesting experiment. Many other coaches will also be disecting our season to see how they could emulate the positives but avoid the negatives of playing this style of football.

As long as we don’t lose I’m fine. All 3 teams look like they will no longer win every remaining game - this much is true from what we’ve seen. We have to try to win and if we can’t don’t lose. Take the point and move on. Millwall deserved their goal but we should have had enough to grind out an equalizer. Teams that have a champions mentality always find a way.

I couldn’t watch the game as I didn’t have a stream so watch the Madrid/city goal fest! Quite an entertaining game. tbh I though we’d get a straight forward win today. I don’t understand what happened the buzz from the last game? Where did it go? Why no fight to even get a point and not lose. Where is the urgency and separation to play each game like it’s the last one? Didn’t Enzo and KDH say this is how they are going to approach every game ? FFS we could have pulled away today. Thank god Leeds drew. Ipswich might get 3 points tomorrow.

I get that - not saying they shouldn’t pass out from the back. What I am saying is it needs to be smart and variable in speed. In some games it’s looked robotic like without any purpose unless the players are deliberately killing time. Other times it feels like there is a lack of ideas so reverting to type. That’s probably why it comes across as messing around until there’s a press which is fine if they don’t lose the ball. The old saying ‘asking for trouble’ comes to mind. maybe when the players are mentally and physically tired they could do something else that’s quicker and more direct. Will Enzo allow them to?

Enzo needs to stop being so pig headed. Most of us fans have bought into his philosophy but with 2 conditions and that is positive forward intent and no pointless passing around in defense especially when it goads the opposition into a high press. use the time & space sensibly and reduce the risk. Avoid self inflicted errors please. otherwise tikki takka all you like.
