What a cluster f-@“! was looking forward to pre season, new players, getting rid of old, friendlies and enjoying the euros. instead add more uncertainty and upheaval to our list by having no manager and starting all over again with a new playing style against points deduction, losing key players in the most competitive league in the world. It doesn’t look good for us unless it’s yet another incredible chapter in the amazing story of Leicester City ( cue Kassnian ‘I’m on fire’) 😅

Football really is a world of its own! what other job can you openly get approached by another employer and get permission to discuss another job opportunity without the threat of an instant firing. If it’s the average Joe you have to conduct the interviewing in total secrecy. if Enzo speaks to Chelsea but turns them down I might still have a little respect left for him but if he says yes and then gets overlooked by another prospect I’m don’t think I can get behind him anymore for the future. The trust has gone and any love or respect tarnished. This is a big test for him and his reputation.

He’s been tearing it up in serie a since moving to Atalanta. Lookman had been a bit of a journeyman when he came to us. I remember noticing him at Fulham he showed potential back then. In an interview after joining us and doing well he said he felt happy knowing he’s finally found a home. His performances were better as an impact sub under Bodgers. Barnes was the same. The moment you start them & give them the game it all goes flat. Should we have bought him YES.,it was worth taking a chance but we didn’t have the money.

I liked lookman from the moment we got him. Gave Barnes the kick up the arse too to step up. Honestly thought it was a no brainer to keep him. The rest is history but Iike history hope it doesn’t repeat with fatawu like lookman on loan, looking for a home - feeling settled - playing well etc. Great individual performance from lookman today on the European stage. NBC sports here in the states have their annual end of season finale where they show all the premier league games simultaneously across all their affiliated channels. Also every channel will be beaming into the other games as goals start to go in. It’s actually well done and I enjoy it.

The 1st leg villa really dropped the ball and made it unneccesarily difficult in the 2nd leg. The Greeks managed both games superbly probably down to past experience. Playing in Europe is a learning curve

Newcastle owners be looking at what Emery has done at Villa with some envy. next season the expectation is going to increase. It was a highly entertaining game of footy folks! I'm glad I got to enjoy that and not be worrying about our troubles if we were still in the play offs. we've had enough stress for 1 season. Time to re-charge before we go again in the premier league. I will say though that Moussa guy is like our Daka. If either of them put their chances away imagine how comfortable our teams would have been in some of these games. Just poor decision making in the final seconds which is criminal if these guys want to be elite level strikers.
