  1. Yer, good luck with that mate. https://www.espn.co.uk/football/story/_/id/40325886/aston-villa-owner-sue-premier-league-spending-rules Aston Villa owner Nassef Sawiris has said he is considering taking legal action against the Premier League over its Profit and Sustainability rules (PSR), claiming the financial restrictions "do not make sense." The regulations stipulate that a club can lose no more than £105 million ($132.54m) over a three-year period. In an interview with the Financial Times, Sawiris said: "Some of the rules have actually resulted in cementing the status quo more than creating upward mobility and fluidity in the sport. "The rules do not make sense and are not good for football." British media reports said Aston Villa had a request to increase the threshold for allowed losses to £135m rejected at the Premier League's AGM last week, with just one other team voting for the motion. ESPN have reached out to Villa for comment. "Managing a sports team has become more like being a treasurer or a bean counter rather than looking at what your team needs," Sawiris added. "It's more about creating paper profits, not real profits. It becomes a financial game, not a sporting game."
  2. Pretty sure they show it at least once a month. Same with Deeney Day.
  3. You're stuck on a desert island. You're allowed one condiment. Which is it to be?
  4. Pegguy signed for us on a free transfer, and left for Liverpool on a free transfer. (Apologies for ruining your joke)
  5. Where do you see yourself in one-year's time? Because if the answer is ''managing Chelsea'', you can **** right off now.
  6. It's a fine balance. Obviously it's important that the club get this right. And that takes time. But also we've seen the club already handing out/offering contract extensions. And rumour has it that we have to make a sale (or sales) before the end of this month to comply with PSR. I'd like the new manager to at least have some say in the make-up of his squad. So I think the new man needs to be in before the end of this month. Maresca was appointed on June 16th last year and we are only a week away from that.
  7. That's settled then. Gary Megson it is.
  8. Not buying this clique excuse. VK was simply shite. But he wasn't the only one. Maybe it was too much, too soon, in a struggling team. Looks like he's improved though at Bologna, so would be worth another try. Especially if we bin off the inverted full back tactic and go back to a more traditional back 4.
  9. Why would anyone want to manage us then if our predicament is so unappealing?
  10. He could well do. But he won't get a top job again. We are currently the calibre of club he would be looking at now.
  11. Because he wouldn't get a better gig.
  12. Who are all these top clubs that want Moyes then? Come on, I could do with a good laugh.
  13. Because he could get a better job? That's your reasoning? Well that rules out Potter and many others too.
  14. I should think he's set for life after the payoff he got from Chelsea, so he'll be in no hurry to get back to work. It would probably take big money to tempt him back.
  15. Looks like Michael Jackson moonwalking.
  16. Red Bull are really cheating F1 fans by having Perez in that seat.
  17. Can't believe he doesn't want to swap sitting on the bench next to Dad, while Bellingham, Vini Jnr, Mbappe and co run rings around the opposition, for a relegation battle at the KP with Bouba Soumare and Patson Daka. No ambition this guy.
  18. ...Well the list gets less inspiring....every daaaaayyyyy... ...And we'll be down...sent down...by Christmas!!!
  19. Get off the fence and tell us how you really feel Seriously though, if Enzo could only take one player with him to Chelsea I reckon it would be Fatawu. Maybe Hermanson. But I think ball playing keepers are easier to find than dynamic wingers. The only thing that may dissuade Chelsea is that they are already fairly well set for wide attackers with Palmer, Sterling, Mudryk and Madueke.
  20. At Man Utd you would always see Solskjær asking Carrick and McKenna what to do. I don't think he has any tactical nous whatsoever.
  21. We're obligated to sign him. But that doesn't guarantee that he'll be a Leicester player come the start of the season. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there are one or two clubs that will try to tempt us into making a quick profit over the summer, including possibly Chelsea.
  22. Better to have a stinker in the warm-ups than in the actual tournament. But I have little faith that Southgate has the ability to get the talented attacking players we have to gel.
