  1. Not sure I ever expect to love and relate to a team as much as I did to that 12/13 - 15/16 squad, some limited players but ones you knew would give there absolute all week in week out, Nige being the absolute legend he is and obviously Ranieri capping it off with the Premier league... if this squad, or more so the 22/23 squad, had even half the hunger and passion then we wouldn't be in the state we are now
  2. There'd be no reason to check - if he didn't go on with the ball and instead pulled up and stopped then it would just be a plain old offside, nothing for VAR to check as there's no 'other' outcome if he stopped
  3. Not sure if it was a tactical decision from sh!t the bed steve, but he was far too wide today, completely stunted stephy and led us to killing attacks on our left. Facundo came on and operated more centrally, we, and stephy, looked better
  4. I agree get Vesty back in, but alongside Okoli for me - Vesty is much more progressive with his passing but think with the confidence of being first choice Okoli will be more dominant, and make fewer mistakes than Faes
  5. Bizarre thing is I heard as we were getting cooper he was meant to be great at developing the younger players, yet... we're signing geriatrics, and he has seemingly decided Nelson / Braybrooke / Alves aren't even worth a look at? Buena coming off today for us to revert to 3 holding midfielders, would throwing Alves on to push for an equaliser really have been any worse? Guess I'm just dissapointed, I thought if nothing else this season we'd have some young up and coming talent to look at, some hope for the future in place of doom and gloom, and the way it looks now we're settling for a season with PL has beens Ayew and Bobby DCR
  6. Knockaert announced his retirement today - not the greatest to ever pull on the shirt but he was pure cult hero for me
  7. Hey Jim, let's look down the list of PL winners and see who we hit first... what an arse
  8. Agreed, it does next to nothing when you consider the actual earnings across a season generated by ticket sales, but gives clubs the opportunity at a thinly veiled up yours to the fans who will be easily replaced by the tourist fan spending X amount in the fanstore each week, sad state of affairs really
  9. I've just been scrolling through this exact comment thread and it's actually massively disheartening... quoting FFP and previous price freezes as justification for a whole demographic of our fan base literally unable to afford to support their club any longer. No wonder the fans get fleeced when the bulk response on there is to follow like sheep and 'fvck the fans that aren't as well off as me'
  10. To make it even worse I'm pretty sure it's his left one out the door... and we're extra fvcked if we're left with his right
  11. Despite how raw everything is now, I have absolutely no doubt one day he'll be remembered fondly for the moments of brilliance he provided. I almost wish his last moments for the club were following the fa cup win, he could genuinely do no wrong in my eyes at that point, he'd completed the dream set for us as a club and was a shining light. The last season and a half has somewhat tainted that, to the point I'm not sad he's going right now, more ambivalent, but I do hope if we bounce back I can forget the last couple of years and look back with Rose tinted glasses.
  12. I've got to agree he's almost ruthless in the way he sticks to his style and wears down his opponents in a war of attrition. I actually enjoy the tactical element of his games, I find the methodical nature of some of his frames fascinating, in the way he's relentless till he sets up an opportunity, however... I find the amount of time between shots quite tedious, particularly as he regularly addresses the shot, I focus on the screen, just for him to shake his head and start his planning all over again
  13. Follow up to this with some more positive news, I'll be back on the roads finding more things to annoy me everyday after Copart wrote the car off (CAT B) and insurance paid out a pretty good amount, only about 400 short of what I would want as a best case. Off to Manchester on Saturday to hopefully pick up a nice tidy new to me c class and a 2 hour journey of complaining about idiots in the 3rd lane of the M6 back
  14. Only the response paramedic attended, nothing else further than that. I wasn't thinking particularly straight at the time to be perfectly honest, I was extremely shaken up and a mix of gutted it had happened with pure anger at the cretin who did it. Only assessment I've had is through my private health care at work, as I regularly drive vehicles at 130+ mph and my fitness for work needed to be assessed. Only advice I received was take some paracetamol and ibuprofen at home from one of the police officers after going through formalities and breathalyzing me at the road side
  15. I wasn't no, which did somewhat surprise me as both the witnesses and my dad, who came out to collect me, commented on the fact I did seem shaken up and a bit everywhere
  16. Got a feeling you'd be better placed putting this one in the unpopular opinions thread, I for one like WYS and I know plenty of folk wanted it before... unless you preferred that weird techno drone we used to play before matches?
  17. Cars a total loss, copart are collecting tomorrow and should receive a valuation from there. Annoyingly as he's uninsured I don't get a courtesy car as costs are unrefundable, got a doctors assessment this week too as unsurprisingly I'm feeling pretty worse for wear
  18. I should of course add he then tried to fight the coppers too for good measure
  19. He smashed into passenger side and knocked me into the pedestrian crossing/traffic lights and back into the road. Now been told he's been charged with: - theft of a motor vehicle - driving over the limit - driving with no insurance - driving while disqualified
  20. Annoy might be an understatement, but drunk drivers. Got t boned late on Saturday night turning right from burleys way onto St Margaret's at about 40mph as a guy who blew well over the limit ran a red light... suffice to say I'm counting myself lucky, and I hope anyone who drives over the limit grows a conscience at some point

Squad in a great place, but at the point where I don't know where I want to go next, anyone else I'd fancy feels unobtainable at this point... on the plus side though, using all my 500k liquid coins on forlan is something I definitely don't regret

Hero pack today decided to spit out a lovely yaya for me, sold mascherano and pedri and slotted in cancelo after. Had some nice luck and good rewards this year, everyone first owner bar cancelo now. Is 32 chem but heroes on the app are bugged still

I actually really like Bouba and I'm surprised by some of the consensus on here - I feel like he brings a real balance to our midfield and has a bit of everything, while not being the best at any one thing he's pretty well rounded. Thought he was good again today, and would just love him to get the confidence to let the shackles off occasionally, when moving he's such a strong carrier of the ball and I hope he develops that further with time
  24. Watch the video of Pearson post match at Burnley 14/15, couple of pages back in the Pearson here and now thread... reminds you why we love the club so much and where we can get back to one day
  25. Having used it last week, its a pretty painful experience all round tbh 😂
