  1. I didn't think the allowed goal was blatantly anyone's fault. The ball bounced around and West Brom was in a position to capitalize. Love the response though. West Brom got greedy.... and got burnt.
  2. Love him. I think he's our best player.
  3. Just keep grinding out those results. Great job by all involved tonight. Cassadei a little unlucky but he impacted the match. Justin's goal was sublime watching the replay.
  4. Is that the same Patrick Roberts who got offered to us as part of a Mahrez deal at one point?
  5. It's coming - and maybe more than once. They're getting better and better each week.
  6. It seems like when the opposition scores, it's almost a fluke. Contrast this to a year ago.
  7. You could argue that Brendan's performance last season was one of the worst of all time leading a club in any sport. The level of under-performance with so many players was kind of mind boggling.
  8. I don't think the club could have been rebuilt well enough in one summer to stay in the premier league. At least this gives Maresca a little more leeway in terms of transitioning the club to his style. They've still got a long way to go to the get to the point where they won't be favored to go right back down should they get promoted. They're going to need more depth as I would still expect Premier League clubs to come for their best players.
  9. I'm not sure whether you folks in the UK got same announce team we did in the US but Kasey Keller was a little critical of Hermansen's refusal to boot it downfield late in the match. His feeling was don't get cute with a lead and just knock it out of trouble. He did acknowledge he's kind of 'old school' in feeling that a keeper's # 1 task is keeping the ball out of the net. Personally though I love watching him.
  10. Can Coady play left in a 3 back system? Based on performance if you're going to move out anyone it would be Doyle.
  11. Last week, I thought the commentary was from the audio because he was describing ball locations on the pitch. Not so this week.
  12. I think if we want the strikers to play well, Casadei needs to start. Still trying to figure out what Wilf contributes in the position he's playing.
  13. Managers can be like young kids at Christmas anxious to use all their new toys. And I think that's what happened today. In doing so Maresca undid whatever cohesion the team had - granted they hadn't played all that well the past couple of league matches. The squad just looked disjointed - guys would get in position to make a play and the last pass was off or they shot when they shouldn't have. KDH was poor for a good part of the match. Doyle had a clunker. Winks had some letdowns. Akgun couldn't mesh at all with his teammates. I think Maresca deserves some fault here. Go with what's been effective and work the other guys in vs moving McAteer and starting a guy who hasn't started - even with his former club. That said there's plenty of potential - and talent. That's pretty obvious.
  14. Did Ricardo get away with a hand ball late in the match? Looked like it but no replay so it was hard to tell.
  15. To me KDH and Ndidi were underwhelming for a good part of the match - which was a big reason why Rotherham was still in it. Casadei coming on had a big impact. I think we'll get more out of the strikers once he's starting. I'm good with selling Wilf if they can get a reasonable offer. Need one more body there though if Praet is in fact moving.
  16. To be fair, he's 6' 6" and plays like he's 5' 10".
  17. If Iheanacho starts regularly he'll get 20. He'll have some clunkers for sure, but he'll also have some multi goal games. Keep starting him.
  18. Nice to see Albrighton involved.
  19. A Keeper who doesn't kick it out of bounds all the time - who knew? In the first half I thought what was lacking was Maddison/Tielemans as there was no linkup to Vardy at all. Praet helped with that to an extent. But Wilf isn't the answer. Winks is a stud at this level. I thought Vestergaard was OK - not great - but he can play at this level. I thought Ndidi was at fault on the goal but it was well taken by Coventry.
  20. He did a number on this club and his departure I think played a big role in LCFC's relegation. After that fiasco I'd boo him regardless of who he plays for. And while I love that this comes back to bite Boehly in his fat arse, two major injuries to a guy who's pace and quickness help make him elite is not at all good. He's likely to never be the same player. You never want to see that. I do hope he can resume his career and still at least be able to play in a top league.
  21. One of the online types says the fee has the promise of further installments based on appearances and achievements. Not sure whether this is accurate but if so, that makes a little more sense. Keep in mind this guy was constantly hurt and missed quite a few matches through his entire LCFC career.
  22. I long for a return to the qualitee and intensitee of Puel - but if we can't get him back, then I'm onboard with the Enzo era.
  23. The first 2-0 away defeat should do it...
  24. I hope it is Maresca. And I hope that the supporters will have patience with him. Arteta's Arsenal team struggled big time his first season. Granted it's a good time to be changing the organization's philosophies, but I imagine that this is going to be a slow build. What might speed it up though is a key loan or two from his former club.
  25. I'm getting the same vibes from this process that I got last summer when were all waiting for signings that never were going to happen. By dragging this process out they're falling behind on recruitment since the new manager will want his own type of players. They're starting to dig their own hole yet again. Apparently no one has learned their lesson from last season.
