  1. Let's just say the results to date are somewhat less than ecouraging.
  2. Got beat in the air on the goal, I see.
  3. I didn't watch the first half but from what I could see, Kristiansen looked to be the main positive.
  4. When do we move on from Daka?
  5. Only thing that bothers me is Atalanta seems to be a much better run outfit at present and that's a heck of a fee for a guy who probably wasn't going to play for them anytime soon. But he also fits the description of the type of guy I think they'll need to have in order to survive. They need some steel - opposite of Faes and some others we've featured.
  6. This is the path back to prominence. Young talent acquired at a fair price. If accurate, I feel a little better about this whole situation.
  7. My guess is Bologna is going to wind up selling a couple of players and won't be as good next season. If you agree with that, then a return to the EPL for him may be somewhat enticing - granted with no European football. I'd hold my ground in terms of a price. We could very well use him.
  8. Bring Puel back
  9. There should be a 'Chelsea Tax' on any transaction done with them - at least +10%.
  10. Can we do a swap of him for Petrovic? He'd be fine. He just doesn't distribute it the way Enzo likes.
  11. I don't begrudge him leaving. The job keeping us up was going to be every bit as hard as getting Chelsea to Champions League and the resources, not to mention pay, are significantly better there so were it me, I'd leave too. I'm just not very confident in the club's ability to find the right replacement.
  12. It strikes me that Chelsea hasn't done their homework on Maresca. If they did, they'd realize that he's too wedded to his style and doesn't react well when the game plan isn't working. He's also going to be competing against a much better set of opposing managers than he did this past season. First set of bad results fans will be grumbling that he's in over his head. If Enzo goes, I predict that Chelsea sacks him before Christmas. And at this point, I think I want him to go.
  13. It's intriguing to me that a club that's spent like drunken sailors the past couple of seasons under Boehly is now going el cheapo with the managers they are reportedly looking at.
  14. Should've found a way to keep Lookman! That 3rd one was a rocket.
  15. Enzo's agent has to be pushing this. I'm fine either way with him leaving. He did a good job but I'm not sure he's up to the next step given his lack of flexibility.
  16. i think Enzo may be greasing the skids for an exit. Enzo ball will only work in the Premier League with that talent to play it and right now the club needs talent and may not be able to acquire it. And if penalties etc are going to prevent a serious talent upgrade, Enzo probably shouldn't return. Best to sort this out now.
  17. Congrats Enzo. You did it!
  18. Very appropriate that I post that just as #4 goes in.
  19. The Four Year Plan is one of the all time great docs.
  20. I had predicted early in the season that there would be game where everything just came together and they'd blow someone out. Then around late February I figured, not happening. Great time for it to finally happen.
  21. This result should get him the sack. Of course this is the same club that waited too long to sack Rodgers.
  22. Sticking with the same tactics and the same personnel game after game when things aren't working - yet expecting different results is just madness. This club and this manager are both done.
  23. Risky starting Ricardo on short rest. On the other hand it probably indicates how much the manager trusts Hamza at this point.
  24. Great to get the badly needed 3 points and nice to see Yunus making a difference. Ahead of giving up the goal, I thought they (again) lost focus. It happens to every team but seemingly more often with this group than it needs to. I'm glad they were able to overcome it. Vestergaard was excellent. It's crazy how he's gone from persona non grata under Rodgers to the anchor of the backline now. I didn't like Doyle being pulled at half but Justin was good for a change. This is a much better team with Hamza off the pitch and Ricardo and Wilf on it. Wilf showed signs of returning to his early season form. Ricardo was steady - and should hopefully get better game to game. What I liked seeing though is how much this meant to the players and Maresca based on their reactions after Mavididi scored and post-match. They were into it, and hopefully this bodes will for the remainder of the season.
