See I would pass on keita and go for all the forwards personally. Would be great to get keita as an extra, but I do think we need to prioritise the forwards we are in for.
-
But what if the budget only allows for those. Which one you dropping for keita?
-
So who out of Fotis, wilf and Adam are you not signing over this lad?
-
Don’t understand the hate this lad gets. Id rather he be backup to a better left back, but he really isn’t that bad. Its if he gets injured that we are really screwed as we are then relying on Luke Thomas. Be careful what you wish for. Imagine we sell Kristianssen but don’t manage to get a replacement in and have to watch Luke Thomas every week til Christmas.
-
Me neither, at least not in the dressing room, at training etc. Poor attitude on the pitch towards the other teams, opposition fans and the ref = bonus points in my book😂

The Greek striker - bid of around 20m. We are on an embargo in the championship regardless mate because of breaching and rubbing them up the wrong way last year. As soon as we go back there, they’ll have our Crown Jewels for earrings. We don’t know the extent of the FFP stuff. on the face of it 40m seems reasonable, but when you factor in that we had to sell our best player for below his value just to meet last years targets, 40m is a lot.
-
I’m of this opinion. arguably we need a left back and a centre mid still. I have a feeling we will sit really deep in a lot of games though and attack using the front 3, which would explain the lack of creative midfielders signed/on the books.

Siri, call Alfie Doughty. ”Help is on the way dear!” No, that’s Doubtfire.
-
But we can’t afford to buy all the players we need mate. That’s why we are doing these types of deals. Its essentially transfer window Tetris. And as mentioned, why would he want to commit to 5 years when it’s likely the second year and maybe more will be in the championship? Also mentioned above is that we probably wouldn’t want the financial commitment of having him in the championship. We have struggled with loads of players on inflated wages without PL income, hopefully we have learned our lesson. He could be an absolute flop and nobody will want him, be able to pay his wages, or cover our outlay.
-
Him and vardy will be such a combo. A few years back I said my dream front two would be Vardy and Diego Costa. This would come close.
-
Me too. A triple swoop of Fotis, Hlozek and Zaha would be unbelievable. Everything crossed we can pull this off!
-
He basically was the palace team for years. They were abysmal. Zaha kept them going. Zaha still has a point to prove. And he may well want to come back to the prem permanently at the end of the season. If we stay up and he has a good season, I can see us signing him permanently. He still has a lot to play for.
-
It can’t be with a deal like this because what if the player decides he doesn’t want any to join, or then prices the club out of a move in terms of salary etc? Likewise, the club could have changed their mind on the player and deliberately low ball so he doesn’t accept. That then leaves the selling club stuck with a player someone had agreed to buy. So it all gets agreed before hand. Obligation to buy means the permanent purchase goes through on completion of the loan and meeting of any criteria (survival in this case), it’s already agreed and set to go.
-
It’s a loan with an obligation to buy. Same as with Fatawu. This means all the details around the future transfer will need to be sorted now - his full time contract that would begin in July next year.
-
I think every man and his dog knows mandaric is a crook mate. But he did have a habit of stepping in and saving clubs, then to sort them a bit and sell them on.
-
So we tried pleading poverty for the first month of the window, that didn’t work. So Top’s remortgaged a load of property and it’s balls to the wall from he on out! SIGN ALL THE PLAYERS!!!! …Just don’t change our home kit to red.
-
And Wilf will play everywhere.
-
Why on earth would anyone leave Leverkusen for us? Can he pop to the Bradgate for a once over when he’s in town for his medical?
-
No he won’t, I just hope Corberan is up for the challenge closer to Christmas because this clown ain’t here in January.
-
Things are bad at the moment, and have been since Covid. But seriously lads, give that head of yours a good wobble. Were you following us when we nearly didn’t have a club anymore? That wasn’t great, neither was the bit before that. Mandaric era? No that wasn’t great either. League one?… I could go on. Football, like anything, is cyclical. We ended one and started a very different one. Yes things are bad at the moment, but balance and context are important. As is life - up and down, bad and good, rough and smooth. Just got to ride it out lads, things will get better eventually, it just might take a while. Rudkin has needed to go for a long time, long before this recent shambles, but we have to accept that will never happen either.
-
And if we can get both of those we are laughing!
-
We are stupid to have not gone for this. Surely there’s time for us to jump in with a 12m bid😂
-
These ones are really frustrating. A lot of people have said there’s not much good value around this window. There’s literally loads, or at least has been. The problem is we’ve been sleeping and missed all of it whilst we were too busy paying 15m for Okoli. Very frustrating window, this lad for half the cost of a centre back we didn’t need.
-
Some strange stuff going on, I finished me bottle of metaxa I had left from me hollibobs last night whilst I were watching mama mia, and me and me mam split the bill for the curry.
-
This is pretty spot on. I don’t think this is good value at all, and I’d have rather us bought a few of ric flairs cheap tips in all honest. But, and I mentioned this rationale when talking about szmodics. The key question is, do we have a better chance of staying up with zaha in the side? And that gets the easiest yes from me. I think he’s good for the squad too and can be one of our leaders - him and vards will probably hit it off which is positive, that was one of my reasons for wanting szmodics too. Someone who can help get the best out of one of our best players. I think the young lads love him too, I think he will be good for the likes of Fatawu, Golding, alves etc. Providing we’ve not spent all our budget and can bring a few more in, this is a good move.
