No, we just need a change in structure and for Rudkin to do one. If that was possible under the current ownership, I’d rather not have a new owner. Chances are, we would end up with a sh*t one - like an American consortium that tries to Americanise us, and use our club votes to go with those voting for games in America, changing the league structure to get rid of the competitive nature (no relegations etc.) Honestly, I would only be happy with an oil rich country buying us over what we currently have. Be careful what you wish for, the grass isn’t always greener. Our current owners are the best owners we have had, at least in my lifetime. I appreciate that my opinion won’t be a popular one.

Though the conspiracy theorist in me thinks may be the board wanted us to get relegated the season that we did to do the psr fiddle. If that’s true, you would like to think we see a change soon. We literally can’t get relegated again because the EFL is will screw us royally.

It would only make sense if we completely changed our model and brought in a recruitment team like Brentford, Brighton etc. But we wont be doing that as Rudders is king.

I wasn’t in favour of Moyes in the summer. With the way things have panned out, my opinion has changed. I watched a podcast with Moyes and Allardyce a while ago and they were talking about how they are different to modern managers. Both were talking about how they go in to a club and figure out how to get the best of what they’ve got, rather than how they can fit what they’ve got into their system. For that very reason, Moyes stands apart from other, and is what we need right now - essentially a good version of cooper.

If Potter goes to Everton we absolutely have to go for Moyes. Not his biggest fan at all, but think he would be well placed to keep us up.

Moyes is dreamland lads. He won’t want to come here. Watched a podcast recently where he admitted he’s been close to going back to Everton several times (4iirc) since leaving them. Everton are more attractive than us at the moment (pains me to say it) especially to someone with a connection. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s already in talks with them.

The 84 one is the best. Sadly the most recent remake has ruined it and it doesn’t feel authentic, or at least not for me. its a small detail, but I had one of the first retros of it which was a 1:1 copy. The newer one has a stuck/ironed on admiral badge, where as the original and the early retros were embroidered. I only know this because I bought one to replace my battered one, and ended up taking it back. The green one is the same now sadly.

This just highlights that PSR and the currently football structure is a mess. Chelsea have shown it up. Man City have shown it up. That’s all fine because they are the big clubs who are allowed to do what they want - they are encouraged to squeeze through loop holes. We have an OJ Simpson moment and walk free and everyone’s outraged. I would also like to point out that if, like it should bed the football league included the whole pyramid, we wouldn’t have got through the loophole. i find it really bizarre that the premier league and the football league are separate entities. are the clubs in the premier league not playing football anymore? Surely the whole pyramid needs to sit under the same umbrella, or every league needs to be separate. The current set up makes little sense to me. an amalgamation of it all would make much more sense, and would address the issue of finances not filtering down. the premier league should never have been a separate entity as it is part of the English football league system and should be treated as such.

Makes you wonder if they did it on purpose - it certainly felt like it at the time. None of us, or most of the footballing world for that matter, could understand how such a talented group of players managed to play so poorly over the course of the season.

Loved big Sol. He was ahead of his time in a way. Now we see centre backs bringing the ball out of defence, even getting into the opposition box or on the edge of it. We have Faes and had Maguire too. Sol was doing that back then. And yes I know history has centre backs that have done that for a long time, but I feel like we see it a bit more nowadays, though I could be wrong.

I’ve had a look and it appears that Soumare and edouard were in the French youth teams at the same time. I really wouldn’t be surprised if cooper has seen something in Soumare, but recognises that he has struggled to settle. This could have been a factor in why we have brought in edouard, to not only give us a striker we needed, but also to help Soumare.

Anyone know if Edouard played in the same team as Soumare in the French youth set up? If so that could be an interesting thing.
