He's a huge loss to us, but if he doesn't want to be here which it sounds like then at least weve got fair money for him...assuming we are reinvesting it or some of it. This squad was already weaker than the one we had in the championship last time and we are diluting it further.

Great analysis. I still feel for Marti, whilst he hasn't done himself any favours playing Vestergaard in his system who causes you more problems than he solves. He's been dealt a terrible hand, so many players just arent applying themselves, it's difficult to completely criticise when he must be trying to get his methods across to arrogant and uninterested players who have actively downed tools for the previous 2 managers.

Sky Sports reporting 32m deal agreed, but palace stalling. 32m would be good business I think. My worry as most on here have is that we arent going to reinvest it actively making ourselves weaker.

Im a bit confused why we would need to sell to comply for the next accounting period. Everything we are selling now falls into the 3 year period from 23/24? We lost 19m that year...I assume the 2 years in 3 in the championship means allowable losses are dramatically reduced something about 65-70m? So if we are still having to sell to comply we must of been way over last season?

Bloated squad or not, we just have to bring in some new faces to refresh and bring a different energy to the squad. Its already far too late and they will be playing catch up. I wont hold my breath though, its just endless own goals with this lot in charge, pending points deduction and a slow start because of our failings at director level to sort the squad and manager out.

Southampton look much better than Ipswich. Ive been thoroughly unimpressed by ipswich in the first 3 games. Hirst is actually a worse number 9 than Ayew.

He had to haul BEK off because he wasnt trying. He's got players like winks storming off having a paddy because he cant handle his own ego. He mentioned several times post match theres a tough dynamic thats going to be difficult to break and take some time. Its been 3 games and hes figuring all of this out, how broken the team is and how the bad the attitudes of some players are, they were probably all smiles after beating Wednesday, but its in these moments this core group will show their true colours and he will really understand. Let's see where we are at in a few more games, and hopefully we can do a bit of a shuffle in player personel. Which I recognise is very much down to the incompetent morons so I wont hold my breath. If hes still starting players like vestergaard after all hes learned then fine, absolutely take shots, but its way too early to be going for him too heavy atm.

Quite a few of us on here said "what it will take" is a mediocre (or worse) year in the championship, for the fans to truely turn. The last 2 away games its starting to get very very toxic towards the players, I think you are seeing the above prediction coming to light.

This is exactly what lots of people have been saying. I agree hes our best central midfielder, but hes part of the problem, how can that be a positive thing to have in your squad teaching these academy players? Hes got it in for the club and the fans, because he fell out with the previous manager and cant get over it or himself. Pathetic.

I know its a fans forum where people just say stuff for a reaction. But honestly, people need to lay off Marti, hes inherited an utter mess run by a clown show, hes been here about 4 weeks and cant sign any players he wants for his system. Yes he needs to bin off players like soumare and vestergaard, hes still learning that they will let him down at every turn. All of the negativity should be aimed firmly at the people above him, they have destroyed this club and used every manager as a shield to deflect from their reckless and abhorrent management.

Nothing changes if nothing changes. Same bunch that got relegated again, turning in gutless performances and being shown up by a 16 year old. I cant see anything other than mid table without a lot of investment in the squad. Its rotten.

Its just a lack of togetherness and effort here. Going through the motions, half are hoping to be sold. Obviously we can still turn this around, but its the biggest issue for me, so many players that don't want to be here, squad needs new energy and positivity

I know its been said before, but it does need repeating. We have absolutely no idea how to recruit these type of players, no due diligence happens, we just sign whichever player is recommended to us by an agency. The experienced players we sign seem to be stroppy man children who are just interested in picking up a wage. Vestergaard Winks Soumare Faes Ayew They all throw a hissy fit at the first sign of adversity and take 0 accountability (remind you of anyone 😅) Its a crying shame that this crop of youngsters have this shower of shite as "role models" to look up to. The sooner we rid ourselves of these type of players the better.

Once again, all anger should be directed here and not at the manager. This is the clown or at least one of the main clowns, that has overseen the demise and set yet another manager up to fail and take the flack.

We absolutely have to fix central midfield. We cant play all season with one of skipp/soumare playing every week and winks who is comfortably the best of the lot, but doesn't want to be here.

I feel for him, inherited a broken squad full of mercenaries who dont want to be here. Minimal leaders in the dressing room and we are in the middle of a fire sale. Hes not even been able to sign anyone he wants outside of Begovic. Need to give him alot of time I think

I think hes a few more performances like that away from ending up as a league one/two journeyman. I appreciate hes one of the few who does care, and you can never fault the effort, but technically hes absolutely dreadful.

Nice to see a lot of the youth players given minutes, disjointed performance. Some of the senior players, mainly Soumare and Skipp need to hang their heads. We are desperately in need of someone in the middle that is decent and wants to be here. Soumare in particular put in one of the most embarrassing performances ive seen, even by his own atrocious standards. Not overly fussed, dont need the extra games, but weve got some bad eggs still that need to go.

Soumare is just so unbelievably bad. I cant believe I still have to watch him.

I thought KDH was in that period aswell? If not then yes not as much, but still quite a big number with a net loss. I'm just not sure we can invest that much, I think weve really messed up against PSR. 22/23 - loss of 89m 23/24 - loss of 19m 24/25 TBC But I thought because of the season in the championship we could only lose a total of £83m? That said 89m drops off after this? So depending on what we did last season we might be fine going forward? Apologies if any of that is wrong thats just how I understood it 👍
