Hamza stood too far away from the crosser! I blame Hamza for this second goal.
-
Vardy had a few chances today which he didn’t take advantage of! Daka could have scored the last one! Good to see Justin come off!
-
Don’t really care about them looking sad. It is a good time to play them given their slump, and we need to take advantage. Don’t let them use us as springboard to bounce back which we all know they are more than capable of.
-
Haha. Yeah, a good description. He needs a good coach. Maybe RVN can help him out over the next few months.
-
Agree he is not Winks’ level yet but he is young and has potential. He is better defensively too. No need to write him off just yet.
-
He poses more threat than Reid but Reid is better at moving forward and into good positions. Mavididi wasted a few good moves due to his poor decisions.
-
Excellent performance considering how poor we have been. It goes to show the importance of having ballers in the team who can beat the press. Winks, Vesty, Soumare, Bilal and Bounoette have been excellent. We can’t play like this if we have Ndidi, Hamza and arguably also Ayew (who goes down too often) in the team. The weak link has to be Justin and to some extent Mavididi with his poor decision making (passing backwards a few times when he should have passed forward - wasting a few chances in the process). But overall we deserve to be at least on a draw going into half time. Winks (Skipp if Winks is unavailable) and Soumare have to be the central midfield partnership from now on.

Justin has really gone backwards
-
Mavididi decision making … just poor Excellent cross by Bilal. Why didn’t Vardy try to hit it?
-
Would have been 0-1 already if Ward is in goal.
-
If Mavididi has better decision making, he would have passed first time to Vardy in the middle who was free.
-
Where is Ayew? Not even on the bench?
-
Too many variables. Not worth evening thinking about it as a possibility now.

Agree, though it was bad that we lost 3-0 to Wolves last week. Now they are out of the relegation zone with another win over Man Utd. -

Losing Fatawu was monumental. He is the only guy with pace in the wide areas. -
What the hell happened to him? He is really shite defensively these days.
-
Bloody Justin again. Got turned so easily.
-
But then again it must be so demotivating for many who dont make it to see Ward does it.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

As I said before, fans and players were too quick to jump on the back of Cooper. While there were certainly a lot of room to improvement, but there were signs that he can at least see the following: - Ndidi cannot be relied on as a midfield pivot. He has to be used in a very limited way. - He helped to rediscover Soumare. Looks at his resurgence. - He saw the talents in Bounuette and used him well. - He also signed Bilal? Although he did not yet integrate fully Bilal into the team. - He saw our defensive problems and so he sacrificed one wing for help with defence. He couldn’t solve the Justin problem though. Having said that, he continued with Faes, left Bilal on the bench and didn’t utilize Mavididi well (although see last bullet point above). He was on to something but no one gave him the trust he needed to build on. When you don’t have trust, it goes downhill fast. Having said all of that, I like RVN’s winning mentality, which is hard for Cooper to match given he is not a winner like RVN. It is concerning though RVN picked Ward although I suppose he had no choice. Leaving our best player (Bounuette) on the bench though is concerning. Lots to improve on. But let’s get behind RVN and not repeat the same as Cooper. Support him. -
Geeze. I missed the Wolves game entirely as I was travelling and when I saw the score I refused to watch highlights until now. Of course, watching highlights is not a great way of analyzing performance, but did Ward make a single proper save? From the highlights, he should have kept all 3 goals out. Calamity defending. Otherwise it feels like Wolves had no proper chance and we had the better chances overall?

Usually I would agree but in our case it is different. Rudkin keeps giving extensions to the likes of Ward and Hamza on ridiculously high wages when it is clear there is not much upside. Fatawu is young with bags of potential. Looks at Fofana. He came back and made us millions from the sale to Chelsea. My point is, if we give out 50k extensions to Ward and Hamza, surely it makes much better business sense to tie someone like Fatawu up for a longer period (talking about 2 years) on relatively low wages at a time his stock is lower and he would be grateful - win loyalty and potential long term business gain. By the time he comes back, he would only have 2 years left on his contract? We don’t want another Tielemans situation. No hurry but something we should do towards the end of his recovery so we can assess the state of his recovery but before he starts gaining heaps of value (most likely) when he is back. This club has made so many mistakes in recent years - still disappointed over Lookman who really completed our team at the time, proven to be very good (but just lacked confidence when he joined us) and who was available on the cheap (12m).

Anyone but Ward.
