What players will be here next season in Div 1
Tom12345 replied to StevieH's topic in Leicester City Forum
He won’t stay, but I would love him to. He is old but experienced enough. Also, he is better than most fans give him credit for. He is good with holding up the ball and has also scored a few crucial goals this year. We need some experience going into League 1. It is hard to find experienced players who is willing to join us now. We might as well look at who we have and I think he is one of a few who can be that character. I definitely don’t like the likes of Hamza or Thomas - they are crap. I doubt Ricardo will stay even though he will always be a player I hold in high regard given all the years he has been with us. Who would you find as an experienced head going into League 1? -
I think given he is a proven loser, and there is no hope with him, we should sack him right now. Don’t care who we bring in.

Yes we should have because of who we appointed after him. He was poor with QPR. Rowett was even worst. He relegated a few other teams? Why the history with these managers were not considered as part of the recruitment process I don’t know, but if anyone had a sense that was relevant, we should never have appointed either. We needed to appoint winners like Lampard (even if inexperienced), but we appointed losers (with experience in being a loser too!).

The stats are damning. It is a reflection of the bad team organisation and mentality we have. We have some good players and any team in the Championship would be happy to have one of them let alone multiples of them. But we have some really poor performers and poor team organisation that ruins it. The worst is that we always have players that tend to slow down play, play backwards or lump it forward aimlessly. Football is about those moments in transition, which we often miss because of these elements. We have a few bad actors: Thomas, Hamza to name two. The manager should tell them to give it a go and not wait. The manager should organise the team much better. The biggest downfall is we always let the opposition team settle back into their shape before attacking. Instead of quick throw-ins, we always have Thomas and Ricardo run all the way from afar to take them when a quick throw-in would be much better (only for us to be put under pressure for a quick hoofing up after the opposition has set themselves up). Instead of quick transitions, when the ball gets to Hamza, he passes it back (he lacks skills and confidence)). As a result, we then have to work in predictable ways to try to break teams down. But we are not Man City (we have good players but they are not that good). The stats show this approach does not work. This to me is the biggest frustration. For a club like ours with the money invested and the players we have, say all you like, but we should never be below many of the teams that are in the Championship. Look at Coventry. If that team is managed by the Leicester hierarchy, they would surely be relegated. They always play with purpose in a coherent manner. We are just a random bunch of well paid players without positive organisation. This is a catastrophic failure in management of our club, and this starts from the very top.

It was a bad choice to appoint him. You get what you pay for.
-
So shxt. Constant hooping it up. And what is the fuxking point with his long throws to give the ball away. and why always him to take throw ins to allow the opposition to set themselves up instead of a quick throw in? He is the biggest culprit to allow opposition players time to settle down and for us giving the ball away.
-
No. Our team on paper are full of Premier League quality players. It is the lack of organisation that is the problem.
-
Absolutely! And what I hate the most is the team always waiting for bloody Thomas or Ricardo to take the throw-ins even if there is another player right next to the ball, allowing the opposition to set themselves up. Why why why? This has been ingrained in the team since Rodgers but it is so stupid. Why never take the quick throw-in. Also, instead of chesting down high balls, we always hoops it up and then we give possession away. It is like the team is afraid of playing.

Pompey 1-0 LCFC, post-match thread
Tom12345 replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Pathetic. How can a team with decent players play so bad. Thomas is shxt. The entire first team coaching staff needs to be completely replaced. So predictable. Always wait for the fullbacks to take the free throws. Why why why??? -
We have had plenty of Danny Wards in our team. A few of them still on our books: Daka, Hamza, Faes.

Watford 0-0 LCFC, post-match thread

How did we not win that? Better today. But I don’t get the insistence of the team always leaving free throws to the full backs, often letting the opposition settle and challenge! Often we lose the ball by just throwing straight back at opposition players. Why do we keep doing that??? -
Horrible mentality. This is beyond embarrassing. Disgraceful. The title of this thread is spot on.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

Horrible manager. -
How far have we gone down. We are talking that it was good to get a point … against Ipswich … in the Championship (a tier below the Premier League). We have good players. But our mentality is crushed. Don’t even have the mentality of footballers trying to play. Why could we try to keep the ball in the second half instead of aimless passes as if they are scared of playing football?
-
It was horrible. It was like watching us play in the Premier League against Man City. Many of these players are ex-EPL players playing like League One players. Guess they will be next season.
-
Can’t believe two seasons ago, Ipswich and Leicester were top two in the Championship. Today, we played against Ipswich as if they are Man City hanging on without trying to hold on to the ball. Just pumping up the ball randomly. Geeze, what a poor second half.
-
I don’t even recall that. It felt like months since much activity anyway.
-
This is my first post for months. I am sure it has been said. It is really embarrassing that a club with so many players still on EPL wages can be in the relegation zone, even with the points deduction. Absolutely unbelievable.
-
Luke Thomas is not a bad player for the Champiomship. Hamza though would fit right into League One.
-
We must still have the biggest wage bill in the entire Championship? And we are near relegation zone?

Is Foxeshub streaming not working for others?

Great addition to the team. Can someone confirm we do have an option to buy him? For EUR 5m? Our midfield is better than what we had last year with him and Ramsey added. Without Ndidi and destroyer of our own moves, our midfield looks a lot slicker in moving the ball up the pitch.

So how are we all feeling now the window has closed.

It is really time for Vesty to go. His lack of speed is constantly exposed including in the Championship. -

I would have liked Alves be given a real chance this season in the second tier, but it seems he is not fancied. Still feels sorry for him that ***** broke his leg just as he was getting into the first team. That has set him back 2 years already and not counting the potential for him to never get to his full potential because of it. I am pleased as the poster said that some refresh was done. While acknowledging their contribution, it was time for Justin and Ndidi to go and for new blood to come through. The only blip is that Bilal has gone. I hope though Rudkin has inserted a sell on clause in the sale contract so that we get a slice of the future profit because I am pretty sure Bilal has a bright future and will be sold for double in a few years time.
