  1. Yes , you are almost certainly right tbh. When I saw it, the pavilion and pitch and outfield are all first class standards but you'd have room only for a deckchair beyond the boundary rope, not even a footpath
  2. 88th min but yeah, I agree that that had the excitement value and had the feeling of game over
  3. I put one forward earlier Both were slightly strange midweek games, right? In the most expensive part of the year. Not excuses but it will have an effect
  4. Basically not many then. We are trawling 30 odd years to find six or seven examples - and half of those are draws. Contrast and compare to how many we've thrown away in that same period. I'd wager we could quote 50+. Bizarre really.
  5. If only Pope hadn't pulled off that save from Castagne last season. Would've been the ultimate in thrilling. Sliding doors moment
  6. True. Though nobody in stadium kinda dented any celebration
  7. Have we? I can't remember any. 80 odd mins yeah, Cov and QPR
  8. Prior to yesterday, I'm really struggling. Slim pickings and Rodgers teams were always out on their knees by 70 mins, so badly conditioned they were. Puel the same. I think Wes got a late header at Burnley in a routine end of season game. Kels got a VAR winner v Everton but nobody celebrated as the flag had gone up.
  9. I saw big H on the pitch applauding excitedly for the winner. Hang in there H. Lots of us really think the guy has a role still Much as I used to despise the Brendan 'bring on an extra defender to defend a lead and totally surrender midfield'....these championship cloggers who hurl the ball in as we've seen the last two games might well have second thoughts if Jannik and Big H are there. Vestergaard performed heroics on his own yesterday (even initially winning the header for the goal) but he could maybe do with a hand. A tactical removal of a winger if we are likely to face the usual long throw imbecile
  10. Having a ticket isn't a right. I'm gonna guess there are 1200 or so who have extreme priority due to attending every game from miniscule away ends at Bournemouth to the big allocation Cup games at Forest. Instead, whatever the allocation, a max of 50% of it goes to extreme priority, then the next batches go down in sliding scales. It means those with the highest priority if they fail in the first tranche have to battle it out on tranches 2,3,4 etc with the riff raff. All away games should have at least 10% down to members with a buying history.
  11. Middlesbrough and Watford are garbage. Just coz Middlesbrough beat us with a freak 35 yard free kick perfection don't make them good. The other three are tough.
  12. I can't see how, say, dropping a wide player (McAteer) and instead playing Vards and Kels, with one having a roving role loosely on the empty wing wouldn't help us. Maybe the excellent @StriderHiryu can explain what effect that might have...
  13. I think others have said on this thread though, can't we mix up high press / possession / falling into shape / hitting it early or long? The man city comparison people make is nonsense. They are far more attack minded than we are (and in comparative terms, our squad in the championship is like theirs in the PL)
  14. But that's kinda the problem. We can control games totally and end up losing/drawing down to pure 'hope'. It's not good enough just being better than the opposition. You have to beat them too. Enjoyable as today was, we very nearly threw away more points to an inferior team. Edit, to illustrate my point absurdly, if I was in the ring v Tyson Fury, it doesn't matter how much better he is than me if he doesn't throw a punch
  15. For me he's hands down the POTS so far. His consistency has been unreal. In fact, I think he's getting better (he seems to win everything in the air now and gets a foot in Faes style than he did early season) Even allowing for Winks and Hermansen and Wilf and KDH
  16. They won't be anywhere near the promotion shake up.
  17. GD of just +4 though. How do they manage that?
  18. Imagine the pressure in Ipswich too. Keep winning yet can't shake Leeds and Saints off. I'm convinced that'll take its toll in the end
  19. Anyone else think he nearly missed that at the end? 😂
  20. I followed us all over from about 92-98 ...and I've discussed this on threads in the past, I frequently in those days felt an edge and threatened by our own fans as much as opposition fans. We've never done camaraderie. But we do do the ice cold glare and 'you want some' face pretty well.
  21. I think at rcb he's be 20% better. He's taking one for the team on the left. Wonder if they've thought about putting Wout at LCB?. If JJ was 20% better and Faes 5% worse (if that makes sense) it'd pay off.
  22. Had to go for a long stroll after that to let the beautiful feeling ferment. Walking in a dream like state. My takeaways on that walk... Vestergaard, Ndidi, KDH - and to a slightly lesser extent Faes and Winks - absolutely immense Thought we started much much better,.much more aggressive for the opening 20 mins but ran out of steam a bit The Casadei sub was absolutely mystifying. Suicidal. If there's one thing championship clubs can do well - and I think it is literally the only thing they do well - is hurl it into the box late on and hope for a chaotic lucky bounce. Forest still feeding off that chaos theory.
  23. What's going on here? I can only assume his head has gone and mardy arsed side is on full show again. Pining to play again in Italy in freezing dilapidated concrete athletics stadia
  24. Thing is, some of us rated Kane (tho not to the extent he has become tbf). He was a good player even back then. It was inexplicable that Pearson played him on the wing.
