  1. Thing is tours are booked en masse by a promoter.. there's a stadium circuit, an arena circuit, a concert hall circuit (de mont, rock city, Wolverhampton civic hall type thing), student circuit and finally the town hall circuit in your Loughborough and Basingstoke town halls. There ain't a demand or circuit for a 6k arena. Youve either gotta go massive and join Cardiff, Murrayfield, Wembley (and we could do that and there is a circuit ready, Cov currently do it) or go toe to toe with an arena with 12k The business case don't work. Add to that the appalling transport infrastructure Leicester has, means the venue can't reach out into the region. No trains from Cov or Grantham or Rugby or Northampton or even Coalville/ Ashby ffs
  2. The hotel would be leased out to a, say, a Marriott or whatever. Hotels rarely do the brickwork. So revenues are from hotel to the real estate - finance costs. I've doom mongered regards the arena and I have reservations on the viability of a hotel too. I popped into the lovely Brooklyn a few Fridays ago, Friday night, any other City would have it's central hotels buzzing. Not here. An absolute morgue. I was one of about three in the bar. The City of Leicester needs an entire root and branch revamp. A colossal project in how a post industrial, post office 21st and 22nd century city should function. I'm afraid this development is gonna struggle to attract both the investors and punters it needs
  3. Tend to agree. The club don't want a loan on this, they want to sell this as a investment. The surrounding development is, in a likelihood, fluff til some huge Chinese investment fund falls for it. Which I think is highly unlikely. A mortgage to find this effectively destroys the value of the club in one swoop. In fact, last year KP 'wiped' debts so as to window dress the club's value. The only loans KP like are either payday loans on guaranteed cash (for cashflow purposes, coz I assume we haven't got any cash) or loans from KP to LCFC
  4. Fwiw, I think the business case for an arena is weak. Could well be a white elephant. The arena music circuit bypasses Leicester for that filth up the road.... we should've offered a significant stadium level venue, like Cardiff does. They'd be better having proposed a roof on the stadium than waste money on an arena. Derby's cycle track, Bolton, Cov's ice rink are all arenas virtually unused.
  5. Pure supposition, but I read market dynamics as either, confidence in a prolonged stint in the PL and/or raising finance on the markets via a bond issue
  6. One extra spanner which I've raised here before is a super modest pension pot I'm likely to have. This cash more.or doubles the amount I could use to buy an annuity But thanks, I'll definitely watch those videos
  7. Thought he looked a little bit weak and desperate to impress, which is understandable. However, not to be given up on (like I have Casadei) and I hope he settles and finds his groove
  8. Maybe not the right thread for this question, but I started the thread so I guess, my rules.. Question is, I have possibly a few k coming my way in the coming months ... Interested in any financial advice that suggests A) use that to reduce my mortgage into double figures and obvs being down the monthly payments dramatically Or B) seeing as I can afford the current monthly mortgage instalments, should I keep as is and invest the few k elsewhere Comments welcomed and appreciated!
  9. I aint having that. He's absolutely dominant in the air. It's become an urban myth that big players who can play must be useless in air, or vice versa, see Peter Crouch
  10. Except we had the players. Three players who'd have made any team in the world that season. And another two or three that were performing at champions league level standards
  11. We have a PL team, PL players on PL wages....and it's tough for us Ipswich's form is so good it's unrealistic. They just haven't got the players to maintain it. We have got the players, and I don't think even we can maintain it.
  12. If I were Leeds (or even Southampton), I'd still be relatively content. Their sights are firmly set on Ipswich. I'd have complete faith that Ipswich will wobble and can be caught. I don't think either of them -leeds or saints - gives us a second thought
  13. It was, I agree. What makes it so notable is how few poor decisions he makes..in fact, you could probably count on one hand how many dangerous mistakes he's made this season....for a man that has almost always the highest pass stats on every game. He's been outstanding and I hope he sensed tonight how pleased the crowd were for him that he scored. He deserves all the good vibes he gets.
  14. Well, I'm annoyed but encouraged having seen a bit of Ipswich tonight. Annoyed that a team so ordinary is above us. Encouraged that it is absolutely inconceivable a team that average will stay the course. They are presumably stretching momentum and confidence to extraordinary levels to get this points haul. Hopefully we'll give them a footballing lesson they'll never forget on Boxing Day
  15. The 10 mins I watched he looked like you'd expect, pretty much a nothing player
  16. I watched 10 mins of their game midway through and they look a bog standard championship side. I'm mystified how they are doing so well if that small sample size is anything to go by.
  17. A true crime film where 99% of the public won't know the outcome. Add a sprinkle of poetic licence and there's a British crime thriller ready to pitch. Worth jetting off to Hollywood and go pitch a cigar chomping, bath robed fat Jewish guy getting out a hot tub
  18. Clearly we are gonna be cautious of over confidence, but if we got toppled, we haven't seen an 'angry' Leicester yet. It's all been super controlled. Over controlled in many people's eyes. I don't think any team would be comfortable being chased by us. I think Leeds' crosshairs are firmly lined up on Ipswich, even if Ipswich overtake us. Fwiw, I'd be amazed if Leicester and Leeds aren't 1 & 2 come the end of season, just on players alone, we both have too much
  19. Tue. But Every team in the championship does that. Win 4 on the spin then flip to being unable to buy a win for 4. Was ever thus.
  20. There seems to be plenty on here who chin stroke and nod knowingly about west Brom, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. From what I've seen, all are garbage.
  21. They despise supporters. The club simply don't like the vast majority of football fans as most tick every wrong box possible to be ticked.
  22. Gotta be money. I suspect the whole project is to be financed by bonds sold to nefarious far eastern investors/pension companies
  23. Bit annoying really that ordinarily a quick five wins over Xmas would see us into the mid 60s and needing a meagre 25 points to collect from January onwards. we should be home and hosed. But, we gotta be relentless. And, I suspect our style of play is well suited to a 'relentlessness' as we just will keep on doing what we keep on doing.
  24. Fair enough. Possible slight bias in the figures due to team tactics, in that our midfield is presumably more at the end of our attacks, whereas Leeds' wingers are at the end of more of theirs. Even so, impressive figures.
