I say this as a pro European 'remainer'....but a euro defence force would be right up there with chocolate fireguards. The only countries you'd trust to have your back in Europe in any kind of military war are France (!) - for its hardware rather than muscle - and Poland. I'd seen him a couple of times for Palace last season and he was hideously bad. Also, like in pure business terms, the largest of red flags is that the lad weren't good enough to make Palace's bench ( and they were happy to gift him to a relegation rival), why was he ever gonna be if any use to us? He's a joke and was always gonna be so..so much so even Cooper wouldn't use him.

Yet in convinced there's an appetite for a cabaret/club scene. I've seen a couple restaurants that seem to have an act on tonight (Nye). Problem is, as you say, the rent + rates + utilities.+ 2x chefs at 45k a year + cost of foodstuffs and brewery drinks + fixtures fittings + entertainment + service staff. And only viable three nights a week max. Impossible.

No matter how much or little I do in a year, I usually end up on NYE regretting yet another year of total failure. But, weirdly and more positively, am always convinced next year will be better.
