I'm gonna try to be fair and offering OTT money was our way of persuasion. Pretty blunt instrument but it worked with Fofana. And Maddison. Kante. And many others. It's the lack of business acumen that fails to see that persuasion of that sort isn't always needed. Sometimes bluffs need to be both played and called. Rudkin isn't qualified to do that. He has no track record in business.

He did, you're right. And the performance levels were mixed. Culminating in the Leeds away miss. There were some good things ....but - and I accept many won't buy this - the Centre forward role under Enzoball last season was a thankless task. A self sacrificing team role (the drop deep to pull centre halves out of position /, the numerous runs on the shoulder which never received a pass as the object was dummy runs to create room on the wings)....

We had this with Kels for years. Expecting a player to come on for 5 or 10 mins or start 1 game every 29 and expect a finished product. Patson is far from perfect. There's better to be signed without doubt. But he's here and he needs a run. A defined role outlined by his manager and a bit of confidence. He's useful, scuffs and all

I don't think he was The refusal to play Eduardo illustrates that

It'll be for the best

The manager ain't well, is he?
-
Absolute amateur in charge. Coady ffs.
-
Prime happy to have a game later in season

Even so, nice piece of luck that KP found a Youth team football coach who was also an expert horse whisperer, at the exact same moment they needed a football and horse employee. Like finding an astronaut who's also a qualified plumber, at the exact moment the toilets are blocked up at cape Canaveral
-
Remember our DoF has to look after a horse racing stable too. Something alternative DoFs are plainly unqualified to do.
-
What about Coady? Not good enough for Wolves and Everton two years ago and not good enough for a Championship side last season. What sane manager would play him v Liverpool? Even Cooper wouldn't pick him FFS.

The Blackbird rendition at the wedding was a proper lump in throat moment. It was lovely. Perfectly chosen, perfectly scripted to fit the gentle bittersweet vibe of the whole 17 years.

The situation is in no way comparable. Enzo was asked to work his football theories essentially in a level below the players' standard. He was handed the highest ever wage bill, the biggest ever transfer budget and an experienced PL squad ..then asked to compete against inferior teams. It's a situation where an up and coming manager could (if they could deal with the resulting pressure) test themselves and learn on the job. Everything was stacked in his favour. -
More or less. Tho I might move some personnel for Hamza's pace and tenacity..., Okoli perhaps for pace and muscle.... and add Skipp as an extra body into midfield to shore up against an onslaught... at the expense of an attacking player
-
Blimey.

If Ward plays or is even on the bench, I'm out. If Coady starts, I'm out. If Ayew starts, I'm out. If Buonnotte is on the bench, I'm out. If McAteer starts, I'm out. If Winks is on the bench again, I'm out. Think the chances of me watching this are slim to none!

You have to play the hand you are dealt. We had two fit midfielders. He NEEDED to add a third body in there as they were ALWAYS going to get mullered. But he does no research on his players, so maybe he didn't know. -
Just written a post slating Ruud, but this type of appointment is far more heartening. An actual coach. Thing is, I don't get the connection. Where on earth does RvN know this guy from? Is this a club identified appointment?!

Ordinarily I'm pretty patient with managers. But sometimes you just gotta call it when you see it. He's a surgeon without ever being a doctor. He's way way under qualified for this job. I'll ignore the bizarre Ward and Buonnotte decisions, instead highlight his other red flags; His decision to replace the winks/wilf (our best players) like for like with inferior players (Skipp, Hamza) at Newcastle and expect the same performance levels defies all logic. That was the first major red flag. He surrendered the game by hanging Hamza and Skipp out to dry. To admit he'd done no homework on Ward (and presumably therefore no other player too) is excruciating in its ineptness and disrespects the job he's taken. The arrogance in being in Holland for his announcement appalls me. Get on a fcking 45 min flight you arrogant cvnt. What dreadful disrespect. I admit personally I didn't fancy him from the off. I'm not easily persuaded by a cashmere sweater. So yup, I've been dying to get rid since he's been appointed. This man is all wrong for us and it'll end up like Frank de Boer at Palace. Two more absolute whuppings and he'll be gone -
I was there. You're gonna have to remind me tho. He missed a sitter. What else did he do?

Love your contributions mate, but there's clearly a huge difference between your supporters club then and ours. -

I've kinda said this multiple times these last 24 hours, but I really feel a loathing for this guy. Real strong. A deep seated instinctive dislike for the man He ain't one of us. You could tell that from the get go. Fortunately I give his tenure just days to live. Few weeks max. -

You just know what the process looked like was when cooper was sacked 1. Sacked with no succession plan 2. Arrange meeting following morning to discuss options 3. Spend 48 hours or so sorting through agent texts and emails touting their client 4. Narrow the list down to those they've heard of 5. Have an informal chat with Ruud's Moyes' , A N Other out of work manager's people. 6. Land on the one who ticks most boxes; fame, wages, CV, fan reaction They'd be virtually zero discussion on his philosophy, his views on where we are going wrong, his views on our individual players, his battleplan, his coaching staff. -
Not a caption, but I think he's just doing this;

I guess yesterday you thought it was a typical hysterical fan overreaction when many posters predicted your easiest win of the season. Now you know, we knew ..... incredible,.isn't it? The fan in the stand knew You know, seriously, I'd be on the blower to GON agent today. I liked him. He's a pro. I think he'd make a fist of a rescue job for us as he did for you and Bournemouth
