No way we’re selling him for less than we paid for him. And in the stupid event he did leave, we need to be looking at Maher Carrizo…. Before we let another quality youngster piss off to some stupid league.

I think we lose Bilal, without replacing him. It’s the difference between easing the league, and fighting for promotion. He could on his day make that much of a difference in my opinion.

I appreciate that. But you have to consider the background, and the fact that he hasn’t had a proper academy upbringing. What impresses me, is the fact he’s had a season like he’s just had, at his first attempt, amongst many players who’s been at it for years. I think he’s got the mentality to push on to the next level. You don’t always need blistering pace, Daka is probably the fastest player on this league, and yet he’s an abomination… Kone strikes me as someone who will scrap to earn his place, and he is clearly coachable!

Kelman has also had an academy background. Kone has gone from the homeless World Cup, to non-league, to league football, and matched Kelman. So which set of stats are more impressive? @honeybradger People probably said the same about Antonio, and they definitely did about Vardy. Kone hasn’t come from an established academy background, which makes his impact last season more impressive for me. If I was to take a risk on a league one player, it would be Kone.

I think we will be okay. N’didi is going, and I think one of Faes or JJ will also go, potentially both. Even with this squad as it is, I think there’s enough to go up. CM concerns me a little bit, but at this level it’s more than good enough. And we won’t need Ayew to score hat loads of goals, as I can see us getting plenty from the other attackers. I would still be fairly confident even if we didn’t bring anyone in. The likes of Monga, Page, Aluko, Nelson and Alves could be like new signings.

We don’t need to generate funds for £5m…. For a player in league one, if we did, we would probably be in a worse state than Sheffield Wednesday………

We’re going to get goals from the wings this season. And I think Bilal (if he stays) is likely to chip in with a few too. I can see all three getting 10 goals at least each. That will reduce the need for a 9 to get 20+ themselves. I think Kone can press and bring others into play, and he’s likely to get 10+ goals too….. Cifuentes hasn’t been afforded the luxury of having some of the players we have, it’s hard to say that following last season, but already we’ve seen that the coachable players are taking to his style…… so he may have more luck with goals with this team, all of our attacking players have the ability to be aggressive in and out of possession, and we’ve got enough quality to get goals at this level.

He’s far too good for this level, as is Nelson. They could make a formidable partnership.

You’re spot on, I think I’m getting carried away because we’ve shifted Coady, and potentially Wilf. I think Hermensen will leave, but I’m pretty sure we can afford Kone now, I’d imagine it’s more of a case of if they’re willing to take a risk on him. He could be the next Toney, or he could be the next Craig Makail-Smith and flop.

But, would selling them over let’s say, JJ, Wilf (entertain me for a second) Soumare and Faes. And not being able to sell any of those mentioned, free up any money for a striker? As the money would likely cover their wages? So, if we can shift those wage leeches out of the team, that would be better. Whereas a huge some will help us, of course, the wage bill would still be huge.

I’m not going to be speaking ill of Wilf, he’s been a great servant and has had some excellent moments for us. He has reached his ceiling with us, and needs to move on. We’ve definitely had the best of him, and for his own benefit, and for our financial fragility, it’s time for Wilf leave with our thanks and well wishes!

Keeping the likes of Mads and Bilal won’t harm us financially, their wages aren’t going to be astronomical. If we can offload Wilf, Faes, and potentially JJ… along with Coady going and Vardy no longer on the books, that will do a lot for FFP, that’s a huge wedge off the wage bill.

And me, they’re a good set of fans, never met a Wednesday fan that I haven’t had a good chat about football with. It’s a crying shame to see what’s happening to frankly, a great club.

Surely we can afford £5m….. we’ve offloaded Coady and Vardy and soon Wilf, which makes a huge difference to the wage bill. I refuse to accept we can’t afford Kone….. it’s probably more down to the fact we’re weighing up if it’s a good move or not.

The midfield is definitely a conundrum but what’s the answer? Because I’m wary about Winks too, because he doesn’t seem to be at the races either…. And I can’t see us signing anyone in that position.

As the game went on I actually thought they were alright. Soumare rarely gives the ball away and is solid when he has it. His Achilles heel is his awareness of what is going on behind him, but, Skipp seems to cover for that pretty well. I actually think that’s not a bad partnership at this level, granted in the PL its bobbins, but there won’t be much better at this level.

I only watched a stream so missed this. But what a shambolic and frankly completely distasteful thing to do…. Absolutely no place in football for this. The sooner KP are gone, the better.
