They’re going to have to pay silly money for him. Here’s no way they’re paying £30m when they could go into Europe and get someone cheaper.

First point, king power didn’t get us back into the premier league. Nigel Pearson did. They took over, and he left, we were a mess, and then they had to get him back in to sort the mess out. Yes KP initially offered an increased financial boost, but that was overseen by Nigel, it was him and his team that set the club up to be successful…. King Power benefited from this period massively. Again they didn’t deliver us the premier league title, they didn’t go out a buy the players they didn’t set the team up….. again, they and Ranieri massively benefited from how the club was in operation at the time. It was a glorious one off, that will never be repeated again. After a bit of PL mediocrity Brendan Rodgers came in, and arguably took us to another level, he inherited an incredible squad, and produced some of the best football I’ve ever seen us play. But even then he called out the fact the squad needed refreshing, he was part of the issue at the time, but he wasn’t wrong with stating that though…. Because it was true. Our demise has accelerated since the loss of Vichai, but there were mistakes made even under him, the difference was he had the ability to correct them, and the foresight to change things when things started to go wrong. Top has none of those things. He’s proven that he’s a petulant man child who doesn’t understand how to run a football club. He has over seen some tragic transfer windows, and he has allowed Rudkin without any accountability offer ridiculous and unsustainable wages….. Top and his team are entirely to blame, plenty of other premier league clubs, smaller than us manage to operate competently without breaching the rules, and we have done now, on more than one occasion… I don’t like the PL and how they apply the rules, but we’ve only ourselves to blame for breaching them. The fact some fans can’t see that what is happening here is unacceptable and frankly embarrassing is alarming….. we’ve had close to half a billion £ pass through this club since we won the PL, and we’re breaching FFP, and are now a million miles away from the likes of Nottingham Forest. We’re in this position because of incompetence, and negligence at the board level, and nothing else. Top and King Power are done here, he can’t run the football club, and we’re another bad mistake away from being Sheffield Wednesday. But I guess a free beer and cake will make all the problems disappear?

Either Brentford are honking. Or Forest are excellent. To be fair, they’re paying well, Brentford can’t cope with them.

Brentford look poor. Relegation won’t be straight forward this season. I fancy Sunderland to ease it, Burnley I expect to go, but other than that it’s fairly open…..

I’d rather players come out a day things like this, rather than cup their war to the fans. He gives a shit about the club, and he wants us to be the best.

The frightening thing for me is we are already showing a complete lack of fight.

The dressing room is one of a few roots of problems at the club. The levels of disrespect we’ve seen over the past few years has been staggering. Vestergaard, Faes and latterly Winks….. it’s unacceptable…. Last season I think we saw new lows of disrespect mainly from Winks…. Firstly to be seen holding that sign, just proved that this group is rotten. How can it be successful? When there’s no desire to play for the club? Preston beat us because they fought for it, they wanted it, they’re not better than us, they just wanted it more than us. This will just continue to be the problem until we’ve rid the club of all of the players contributing to it. This probably means we disappear into the world of nothingness for years, but the damage caused by the board room, will take years to correct……

Got to be worth giving him a chance. Can’t stand watching Thomas shit his way through 90 minutes again.

They’re quite energetic and have some good pace in the transition I think? Again, appear fairly robust too. Another routine defeat.

Most of us, including myself boo hoo’d this idea, but clearly there’s only one man who can do this kind of thing….. I can’t imagine the likes of Dyche allowing Winks to walk around sulking.

Such a shame that he is breaking through now. We as fans won’t be able to properly enjoy his time here, because he is largely going to be carrying the club. But in the same breath Rodgers wouldn’t have allowed him to play like this, at least Marti will encourage him to be individual and express himself. Try to savour it people, enjoy watching him, he is the only aspect of this club that we can look forward to at the weekend.
