We didn’t under Rodgers….. it’s the modern thing to do. Our problem is we’ve got no midfield anchor at the moment to get on the ball, and build from the back…. This is where we need Winks, he’s the only one who can get on the ball in the half space. But we also can’t go long, because we just give it away, unless we try Ayew in that position to play off, but I don’t think he can do it.

What do you expect? There was no defensive midfield. Newcastle major strength is their midfield…… it’s as good as any in the league. We turn up with two pub team midfielders, it’s never going to end well. It’s only Ruud’s third game in charge….. hopefully he sees this and realises he can’t adopt the same tactics away from home…. But he really wasn’t helped having to play Skipp and Hamza, I would have even felt sorry for Cooper if that’s all he had to play.

They’ve been horrific……. They’re suffering from the same issue we did under Rodgers last season. Haven’t been able to invest and need an overhaul.

Fully fit we are better than Southampton, Ipswich and Wolves.

He is ****ing diabolical. I was dead wrong about him, thought he was a shrewd signing, but I can’t actually tell you what he does, he can’t tackle properly, has a shocking first touch, can’t pass and can’t keep hold of a football. He’s absolute dross. Junior Lewis levels of dross.

But again, with none of our best CM, available…. We didn’t concede as much against Brighton. It’s just a bloody crying shame we lost all of our midfield in that game too. Ruud had a rough one today, but it happens. At least he sets the team up to be open and have a go…. We would have been just as bad under Cooper and probably would have lost just as easily with all the players available.

He’s not premier league quality, and he needs to leave to kick start his career….. he needs to find a new home to build something that resembles a career, we should be looking to offload him in January. He was dreadful today, and it’s not really his fault being thrust into the first team like that.
