  1. Eh? There were actual news articles about Potter joining…. https://amp.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/jun/18/leicester-appointing-graham-potter-manager-replace-enzo-maresca And then Ornstein on talksport explained about the backroom staff scenario…. So how exactly is that joining dots? Even Percy stated in his article the club went for Cooper as it financially seemed the best option. I don’t understand your second point, when my second point was about Cooper being a PRS appointment, which he very clearly was. And that is utter nonsense… Potter and his team took Brighton to a new level, not Chris ****ing Hughton, that’s a wild statement, Potter changed the way the scouting was done, and along with their board helped them to essentially perfect what we had tried. Potter is a brilliant coach and he did an excellent job at Brighton, regardless of what people try to say, and he earned a shot at a big job. In fact, there was a steady decline under De Zerbi as they finished the season fairly poorly before he left. And you can’t surely think Corberán isn’t a good young manager? He has transformed WBA into promotion candidates with a budget the size of a Freddo…. I’m not saying he’s an internationally renowned coach, but he’s proving so far to be a pretty decent one! The reason that he’s a pretty decent choice is that he’s doing it in the UK, which already is a massive bonus. You talk about offering up no facts, but then sight Klopp as a “style” of manager we should go for and then offer no examples? And then class Enzo as up and coming and Corberán as being not very exciting?
  2. The guardian and other media outlets were reporting the story RE Potter 72 hours before Cooper was announced. Ornstein also mentioned something on talksport at the time that there was a disagreement about backroom staff between us and Potter which is why the talks ended and we moved for Cooper. It was rumoured that he wanted to bring his own scouting network and we wouldn’t pay to release some of his staff from other contracts. Cooper was definitely third choice…. He was the only one without baggage and the club didn’t know what was happening with regards to PRS, so they aired on the side of caution and went with a guy who they believed would be good in a scrap. And I respectfully disagree regarding Cooper being the best of a bad bunch, if anyone thinks he and Potter are equals they’re insane, Potter a vastly superior coach to Cooper, I don’t get this weird thing some football fans have where they think some coaches are crap without any real argument, there are better coaches than Potter of course, but he laid the foundations for Brighton to succeed and he definitely isn’t crap. We turn our nose up at him, and when I mention his name to my peers they piss themselves, because they think he is far above our level. Cooper is a diabolical manager and his appointment is a huge mistake by the board, we may as well not have one and we would be no worse off. If Cooper was ever a best of a bad bunch, I’d hate to see the bunch….. Peter Taylor would have to be one…… with Mark Magee a close second?
  3. Possibly. To be fair, Moyes isn’t the my preferred choice, but I just think he’s better than Cooper…. Which clearly isn’t hard.
  4. Come on…. He would. He’s a vastly experienced manager, Cooper isn’t fit enough to sniff the sweat around his bollocks. Moyes would be a million times better than this bellend. Moyes has a proven record and I would say he would definitely keep us up.
  5. I agree Potter is likely to be fairly dull, but I think he is capable of building a side that will comfortably stay up. I also think he’s more aligned to Enzo, and I think the players would respond to that… however, it wouldn’t surprise me if he wants another job now. So, I would probably think about Moyes….. just because he is likely to keep us up!
  6. To be fair they will probably play in second gear. Big game today for them, so they will likely come out for a kick about, so we might get away with a 4-0 and be done with it.
  7. Potter didn’t bin us off. We didn’t agree to pay to release the team he wanted from their current contracts with their respective clubs. So because of this he didn’t want to take the job, which is fair enough. Cooper was appointed because it financially was the best option, because we were not sure what was going to happen re PRS. Potter wanted the job, we couldn’t make it happen for the reasons above. Potter is far superior to Cooper, and if we were to sack Cooper and get Potter it would be a monumental coup…. Some will try and suggest he isn’t very good, but he will end up with a decent job and is well respected in the game. Now that the PRS isn’t an issue this season, it may well be the club act quicker than we expect.
  8. Calm down with the positivity!
  9. The biggest mistake was leaving all of the attack down to Mavdidi……. If he had played Abdul or Buonanotte from the start off the right, Mavadidi wouldn’t have had to provide all of the attack. Whenever he got the ball Everton put 3/4 players onto him, so he had to work hard to beat them, which he did exceptionally well…. Appalling management from Cooper, its schoolboy tactics. Give them multiple threats to think about, and I know I’ve mentioned it a million times, but Ashley Young…… he’s thirty ****ing nine.
  10. Early afternoon sacking?
  11. His recovery runs are what makes the difference. He is a bit scrappy on the ball, but he’s not going to be bullied, and he’s very aggressive. I just worry about him and Faes as a pair…..
  12. “Like for like” Does Cooper know the difference between a left foot and a right foot?
  13. I agree, Smith would have been better than Cooper.
  14. If we keep it under 10, it will be a good day. They’re going to ****ing destroy us.
  15. After Cooper has been binned.
  16. I just think they didn’t want to spend any money on releasing a manager or their staff from contracts, purely because they didn’t know what was going to happen with PRS. All of the media reports at the time suggested Potter was the man, he may have wanted to bring people from Chelsea and Brighton, which creates an issue. For Coberan, it was probably £5m for him but extra for his staff? I don’t know… but it’s clear they weren’t prepared to spend for management. Ironically, it’s the one area they really should have……
  17. Vardy will get him sacked. We need Kasper back, he was the one who often started the rebellions, allegedly.
  18. Still some of if staff there I believe. I also heard he wanted to bring his scouting team, which was another issue. I mean, considering where Brighton were when he left, why the **** would we not do that?
  19. Purely a PRS decision. Potter allegedly was all but sealed but we wouldn’t pay to release his staff from Chelsea…. This isn’t necessarily an issue now….. so I do wonder if the board would make a decision based on this and who’s still available. We won’t win a game under cooper.
  20. He offers absolutely nothing other than holding onto the ball and occasionally driving up the field. But **** me, to start him over Buonanotte and Fatawu when Everton’s left back is 39…. ****ing vile, if I was Top, I’d be sacking him for that decision alone, it just proves incompetence.
  21. Our club is a circus.
  22. Like you said yesterday, imagine having Fatawu on the other wing and Buonanotte on as well? Mavadidi was exceptional, especially as he was having to beat 3 or 4 players every time he got the ball. The fact Cooper failed to recognise this is ****ing hideous, it’s like the titanic captain sailing towards a **** off ice-burg and deciding not to sail around it and just twat it…. I wanted OPA to ask, any reason why he chose not to put actual attacking players on Young, 39 years old…… I’m genuinely staggered, it’s one of the worst tactical decisions I’ve seen in a long old while, he is already one of our worst managers ever, and he’s been here 5 games.
  23. The simple facts are the longer Cooper stays, the worse we will get. It was a horrendous appointment and the board just need to admit they’ve got it wrong and get rid ASAP. If you want pragmatic you go for Moyes. If you want to try and go back in the direction of early Todgers and Enzo, you try for Potter or Corberan…… There are much better options out there than this clown. Moyes would be my option, despite people not wanting him, he is a billion times the coach Cooper will ever be, and he would probably guarantee comfortable safety.
  24. Even if we appointed Moyes, we would immediately be a better team….. this guy is as bad as Sousa was……….
  25. Has he gone yet?
