  1. I’m almost certain I’m a better footballer than Luke Thomas.
  2. No cohesion in this team at all. No obvious style either. What Cooper has done, is destroy all of the good work we did last season in a few months. Impressive really. This is ****ing tragic. The plug has to get pulled tomorrow, get rid.
  3. It’s coopers fault.
  4. At least Buonanotte is trying. Other than that it’s shite. #Cooperout
  5. Potter would be choice number one. Corberan would also be a major consideration, however, I don’t think that’s achievable at the moment…. Moyes would be a serious consideration, even if it’s purely for short term stability. Niko Kovac would also be hight on the list too, I think he’s a promising young managers.
  6. Ideal opportunity to give Bilal and Alves minutes, and doesn’t……. Cooper is sacking himself.
  7. So what’s the alternative? Keep him and needlessly get relegated again? Or sack him and stand a chance of surviving? If he stays we will get relegated. If he stays beyond Christmas we will then require a miraculous escape again. If he goes now we stand a chance of surviving, providing we actually bring in a decent replacement.
  8. Let’s not go down that road. It’s okay to have issues with his management and coaching style, but let’s not lower ourselves to this please….
  9. Basically code for “I’m not dropping my BFFL Ayew”.
  10. If Southgate takes over I’m done.
  11. Maybe I am, I’m rapidly developing an irrational dislike towards Cooper (as a manager, I’m sure he’s genuinely a lovely bloke)…. So naturally I’ll hang on anything that’s remotely negative, I just want him gone as soon as possible.
  12. He’s done his damage, now he can respectfully piss off.
  13. One thing as fans we’ve got to stop doing is comparing the past to present…. Each individual scenario needs to be looked at in context… yes, players have said things in the past, some got away with it, some didn’t. Maddison for example was Brendan’s fave, so he got away with a lot, whereas Vesty wasn’t, so he was instantly isolated. In the context of this season, there’s a general unrest around the club, some media outlets have already reported unrest in the dressing room, and then Justin comes out saying “we weren’t up for it” when taking on a relegation rival. Sorry, but it’s not cynical to suggest all isn’t well. There’s a direct correlation to the trash we’re seeing on the pitch, and Cooper. Justin is normally quite eloquent when he’s interviewed, and normally comes across really well, so for him to say that is out of the norm. When characters like Justin start saying things like this it normally indicates something isn’t right. On the balance of probability, I don’t think it’s too far fetched to suggest most of the dressing room aren’t happy with Cooper. That performance at the weekend did not suggest they were willing to fight for him, whereas Everton were scrapping for everything.
  14. Then he should have said “we weren’t good enough” to say “we weren’t up for it” indicates a complete lack of fight and desire to win the game, which in all honesty was abundantly evident in that first half. If he doesn’t mean it like that, then don’t phrase it like that, a very poor choice of words, and normally JJ is actually quite eloquent…. He knows what he was saying.
  15. Nah, you can’t come out and say that against a team that are sat bottom on no points….. it’s what a player in a bad headspace says. Something has irked him, considering the mood around the club, that’s a real Ill timed comment.
  16. A player coming out and openly saying “we weren’t up for it” for me just proves there are issues in the dressing room, you don’t come out and say something by like that if there wasn’t…..
  17. It’s hideous….. for me that’s the signal of the state of the dressing room. Could imagine him saying that under Maresca, Pearson or even Brendan? **** me.
  18. His comments are harrowing………….
  19. Should give him a go in a cup game if he’s fit! Lad shits goals!
  20. Seahawks sliding into 3-0!
  21. You’ve made some good points. I would still suggest that with Yannick, Coady, Ricardo, Justin, Ndidi, Winks, Skipp and Vardy there’s reasonable experience there. I take on board what you say about quality, but Ndidi, Ricardo and Vardy have all played to a high level with us. Granted they’ve aged since then, but if it’s experience you want they’re the ones you lean on. With all that aside, my biggest concern is there appears to be no plan, someone described it perfectly earlier as it looks like Cooper sends 11 players out and leaves it for them to figure out what to do. I want to start this next point by saying forget about what league we were in for a moment, but the bulk of this squad were able to almost immediately transition into a completely different style of play when Maresca arrived, and from the off there was evidence of Enzo’s system. This to me proves these players can adapt under the right management…. I just fear that Cooper doesn’t really know what he is doing with them, it’s very much like Dean Smith when he took over, no real identity just hope that it will work out, and Cooper has had a pre season when Smith didn’t. There’s clearly some unrest, due to the media articles suggesting some of the players aren’t happy, there never any smoke without fire in football and I’m sure he’s annoyed some of the players already. You’re not wrong when you say he needs at least ten games to show what he can do, ordinarily I would agree, but I personally feel that the writing is on the wall with Cooper, his in game decisions and general idea is baffling, I just think he is a bad fit for the club, it’s not working and the longer we leave it the worse it’s going to get. I get the board won’t want to make hasty decisions, but I genuinely believe his time here is already over and there’s going to be no improvement under him it’s just going to be a painful ride until his gone, I just hope to god they don’t leave it too late again.
  22. Naturally all manager make mistakes and bad calls it’s learning from them that counts….. Pearson and Cooper situations are different, yes we are in reality a newly promoted team, but also we are not. We’ve spent the best part of a decade in the top flight, so it really shouldn’t be a surprise to us, not like Christmas sneaking up on HR departments…… Cooper is making poor calls and bad mistakes continually, the squad we have now, is better than the one Pearson had, there is still a vast amount of premier league experience at Cooper disposal, and he is still making bad calls. There’s no defending the decision to play Ayew from the off at the weekend, against a 39 year old left back? It’s simply dreadful decision, and then that dreadful decision was compounded by the fact he didn’t even bring him off, he ended up bringing Fatawu on the opposite flank? Surely, surely any manager worth their salt would go full on attack and look to pummel Young….. Fatawu is learning his game, but he would have terrorised Young given the chance, and having two dynamic wingers would have given Everton multiple things to think about…. It was made all too easy for them, and this is a common theme from game to game. Cooper hasn’t got a grip of this team, he can’t strike a good balance between defence and attack, and if I’m brutally honest I don’t think all of the players are having him, Everton scrapped for everything, they won most of the 50/50’s and they never backed out of a challenge, for the majority of the game we looked like we didn’t want to be out there, and the conditions can’t be blamed, because it did not seem to negatively impact Everton’s game. The team have gone from a very likeable character, hard, firm and very sure of their identity, to a bloke who’s very flaccid in comparison. Naturally not all managers will be popular with the players, Cooper will suit some and not others, but I don’t get the impression the lads are fighting for him. He seems like a lovely bloke and likeable character, but his tactical ideology is cack, he simply can’t get the balance of this team right. In terms of results I didn’t know what was expecting, but from what I’ve seen so far I’m actually hopeful for this team. We’ve been in every game we’ve played, and in my opinion it’s been Cooper’s tactics and decision making that have cost us points. So reflecting on the past 5 games I think we should have more points on the board and at least one victory. The longer he stays the more toxic it will get and the worse we will get he won’t turn this around, so in my opinion what’s the point in prolonging the inevitable?
  23. He’s got to go before the next international break…… He can’t be allowed to carry on. It’s a pain Arsenal are the next PL fixture as it’s a free hit, but we’re going to get pummelled and then we face our bogey team in Bournemouth which no doubt will be another defeat, then we’re up shit creek…… the script is written, Top just lacks the foresight his father had isn’t isn’t proactive enough.
  24. He has been given a chance and failed. He is way out of his depth and Saturday just highlighted this. Im sorry, but there’s no defence for not attacking a 39 year old left back, and then deciding to bring Fatawu on with 88 minutes on the clock, and on his weaker side and proceed to leave Ayew on who’s completely infective. Cooper is a shocking coach, and a hideous manager. He has got a pretty decent team at his disposal and he can’t even get the basics right. He should never have been appointed, it’s a monumental mistake by the club and they need to recognise this mistake very quickly and correct it. If they’ve got any sense they will be talking to his potential replacement now, and have him gone after the Walsall game. We will not win a single PL game under Cooper he’s simply well out of his depth.
  25. He has been horrible, which makes Ricardo’s situation even more staggering.
