  1. I would've said thats the generation we're raising but when you look at Scotland who've had a huge rise in younger fans going to games many of which are involved in the ultra groups, I wonder why this seems to be a uniquely english thing?
  2. Many moons ago I was laughed at for suggesting such a thing....fast forward a decade and there no question the atmosphere in the MLS is better than here. People can go to YouTube and post the fight and win video all they like it means nothing in isolation. But if we had the freedoms the yanks have and the clubs that actively encourage their support/ultra groups we might have a good atmosphere too but the game is sold completely differently here than it is in the US. People keep going on about the Americanisation of the game over here as a reason for the poor atmosphere but those obviously haven't stood in the supporters sections at a MLS game...beats pretty much all sections in England. Just look at Scotland if you want to see how a quiet diluted atmosphere can be transformed when fans organise themselves.
  3. Picked them at the start despite them losing a few players, many people dismissed them but this is the championship, you dont have to be that good to do well.
  4. why do i never expect us to hold on...they'll lord this over us for years.
  5. Money and ranking points. He doesnt seem to like any venue in England. And I have to say most are pretty grim.
  6. Possibly their best?
  7. The sort of time and game you would love see fans unite and boycott.....never happen of course.
  8. If true, this could be the end of Reading Fc.
  9. I was thinking the same. Its so sad. I remember wilco Johnson saying he had terminal cancel and was given around a year to live, but lived for around 9 more years.
  10. we all know it will be Liverpool v Chelsea.
  11. Stay classy millwall.
  12. This is why foxestalk members aren't managers.
  13. You realise Glasgow is in the UK right?
  14. Exactly, the reason why most clubs have introduced 'safe standing' isn't because its what fans have asked for but because the club risk having areas of the stadium closed because of the SGSA. If it wasn't for that I'm sure clubs wouldn't have introduced it, the clubs only care about fans when there's a chance of a reduced capacity.
  15. TV Picks Palace v Everton - Thursday 4h Spurs v Burnley - Friday 5th Sunderland v Newcastle - Saturday 6th Middlesbrough v Villa - Saturday 6th Arsenal v Liverpool - Sunday 7th Wigan v Man Utd - Monday 8th
  16. It wouldnt cost much, its more likely they dont want to risk a more rowdy element to form.
  17. It's probably based on the club being so reluctant to give any indication that safe standing is in their plans.
  18. I don't know if the Celtic model is different, but every time I see the GB in their section they looked really crammed in. But given how lax they are in Scotland fans might migrate from other parts into that section.
  19. Yet the atmosphere has never been worse. I was one of safe standings biggest fans, and I still think its important, but I genuinely thought it would improve the atmosphere.
  20. I dont think it increases the capacity..?
  21. I sadly agree. But to be honest if we're just going down the usual bodge job safe standing, I aint that bothered.
  22. I agree, just whacking a rail up isn't going to change anything, but i don't think the clubs care they just don't want areas shut down, so just throw a rail up and give it no more thought.
  23. Blimey I wouldn't have put Bournemouth at the top of my list for safe standing. No doubt it'll be the bodge job we always do in england.
