According to King Power's own figures we're now being fined by the EFL for trying to field 12 players. -

Tonight’s Attendance Prediction- Closest Wins

Club will claim it's 29000 with a straight face But expecting around or just below 20000... I'm gonna say (with the KP Season Ticket Lies tax) 23959. -
Honestly, while it's nice to see some new faces getting involved, we've still been cowardly in including them during a season when we had a real opportunity to integrate them. Alves and Braybrooke were both cast aside, the star boy in Monga got a handful of games before becoming a bit-part player, and the rest have drifted in and out. Nelson had a bad game in a shite team performance at Huddersfield and was cast out for months. And on the flipside, I'm not going to take any pride in Thomas and Choudhury continuing to be involved - they're still here because of our board's incompetence and neither improves us - Thomas actively makes us worse and is constantly targetted, as he was yet again on Thursday with predictable results. We had the chance to sell him and instead of doing it, we gave him a massive contract extension. It's madness. The whole point of having academy players is to give them a chance and see if they're good enough. If not, you let them move on. In Thomas' case we've done that, seen he clearly isn't, and decided to persist with him with increasingly embarrassing results for six years. Meanwhile there are others like Aluko behind him in the pecking order who can't get a sniff, but we're supposed to be glad Thomas is proving we trust our academy - surely you see some of the irony? KDH is the only academy lad from the past decade who has genuinely improved us, and he was sold the moment our finances went tits-up. Considering how much money we've thrown at Seagrave, we either trust the academy to be our squad's spine, which we were supposed to be doing this season, or we use it as a conveyor belt to sell talent to fund external aquisitions. The closest we've come to capturing that lightning in a bottle was somehow fooling Ipswich into parting with the wedge end of £10 million for McAteer, but none of that was even invested back into the squad - we got a few loans in return and will now be using it to pay Antonio's wages on a short term deal. We're just run appallingly and have no idea what to do with our academy - if a mediocre mid-table Championship campaign isn't the time to be giving the likes of Aluko, Evans, Alves and Braybrooke first team chances then what chance would any of them ever get if by some miracle we ever did find ourselves in the top flight again? We wasted half a season letting shitheads like Faes, Soumare and Winks clog up the squad and stink out the pitch for god's sake. Let's not pretend we've really trusted the youth this season, certainly not when we've not been forced to through injury and suspension.

Ugh, the more I mull it over the more this is an awful idea. Even if he's good, it's yet another year where we've wasted the chance to develop our in-house forward options like Evans. I'm not saying Evans is the answer either - if that was the case, the likes of Silko, Nelson and Monga would have already propelled us up the table. But f*** me, we've got statistically one of the worst forward lines in the entire football league (even Cheltenham's strike force have now caught us up, lol). If we're not going to give the youth players a chance ahead of the worst forward line Leicester City have EVER HAD, and choose to gamble on a 36 year old whose legs were essentially put in a blender, what's the point? Sends a terrible message to kids coming through - this club is not your friend and it's never going to give you the chance to break through. You'll rot in the reserves and you'll be happy about it. If you're really lucky, you might get a move to a League Two club once you're already in your early twenties with zero first team experience. Really sells our supposedly world-class facilities - KDH was the exception to the rule, the vast majority of our recent graduates have either stuck on our fringes like a bad smell or been cast off to various lesser leagues. I'm sure Jake is absolutely delighted to have sat on the bench and been cockteased with the chance of breaking through only to have the club instead cast him aside in favour of an actual charity case for someone twice his age who has spent more time in a crushed car than on the football pitch in the last 18 months. Then there's the angle of - if it does work out and he does turn out to be an improvement - which is almost guaranteed, the fella literally has to score four goals to catch up to our top scoring striker in Ayew - then it vindicates the board and our scouting setup in their own minds for "thinking outside the box" to find a solution. Part of me would honestly rather it be a disaster than for them to have any sort of false vindication and belief that they know what they're doing. Just another one to add to the pile of reasons to despise Leicester City in 2026.

Premier League 2025/26 Thread

not happening as long as the likes of Spurs and Liverpool keep rolling over and letting Forest scratch their bellies. Such a shit team and they're still going to spawn their way to the 25-30 points required. -

So sick of Forest being handed the best hand possible week after week. -
Martin O' Neill checking his missed calls this evening

Yayyyy well done Rangers Kasper clearly wants to be part of another fairytale ten years on from the last one
-
Yeah, it's probably not the time to mention it, but knowing how many footballers drive fast cars like absolute morons (we've got a boy racer of our own in Hamza) it feels like a matter of time before a member of our squad is involved in a serious accident there. And then we go and sign Antonio...

The irony of the first sentence wasn't lost on me, considering who is instigating their regime change.

I still stand by that, if he's not picked up in this window, him and Nelson will be our established CB pairing by the end of the season. It's a complete mystery whether he can come back from his long injury and maintain fitness and the levels required, but we picked up a similar mould of player in Wasilewski off the back of a broken leg and he was fine. Does feel like the final throw of the dice for our defensive woes though - and it's becoming more and more obvious that it's the fullbacks that are the main issue so it wouldn't be a magic fix even if he is better than Vesty / Okoli. If we have any brains and he's ready, he should play at least 60 mins in the cup against Cheltenham to see if he's up to scratch.

Without vardy and KDH this squad is not worth taking on. I don't think people realise just how pivotal both were to our success two years ago. JJ is essentially doing both players' roles right now and it shows. If he doesn't leave in January he'd probably get a tune out of Winks though, given the fella clearly still has a massive mancrush he never got over. That's about the only positive case I could think of for him returning right now. This is all moot though - he's not coming back in a million years, our stock has fallen even more than when he was an untested manager. He hasn't even done badly at Chelsea, they just have ridiculous expectations as they always have done. He's also vocally critical of ownership which KP wouldn't want to deal with given their increasingly fragile position. Another prem team or a bigger European team will 100% come in for him.
-
If ever there was a day for Rangers to show up, this would be one of the better ones. It would be very Scottish football for them to spawn a draw then Livingston to beat Hearts to make it a point gained for Celtic, wouldn't it? They're not allowed to have nice things north of the border.

made it three days into 2026 without some geopolitical bs happening though, must be a new record

They're actual fascists. I know that term has been thrown around so much in the social media era that its meaning has become diluted, but if an entire country engaging in imperialism rooted in at-best flimsy evidence, seemingly on the whim of a single, narcissistic old man who has a cult-like following of morons and sycophants... *breathe*... isn't Fascism, then I don't know what is. The USA is a f**king terrifying place right now and Europe can't rely on it as an ally until the orange man is removed from office.
-
Mulled it over and think that's it for me. I don't hate the bloke but he's clearly incapable of motivating these players to maintain their capabilities for more than 45 minutes, to the point that we're staring down the barrel of a potential second relegation scrap if the much-vaunted points deduction happens. He's got a squad that is honking for the most part, especially up front - but he makes it worse with the shit formation, obsession with wing play without cutbacks, and constantly inviting pressure onto the fullbacks through lack of support from said wingers. He deserves credit for improving our midfield after realising that Skipp, JJ and BDCR are the only three at the club worth playing there, two of which none of us had any faith in before this season, but that took 15+ games and it's still not led to a noticeable uptick in results. We can all see the tactical holes, and then you factor in the shithead players he's taken too long to drop and the almost guaranteed brainfarts from key personnel once or twice a game, and it's just untenable. I have zero faith in the board to find a different manager capable of putting a much-needed rocket up the squad's arse, though.

Leicester hospitals are doing their cheap tickets thing again for this one, which only tends to happen for games they're REALLY struggling to get bums on seats for. Last one was Sheffield United if i remember right, and that was £21 a head. You can get an adult ticket for this one for £14 - not sure if that's to do with categories or more proof that they're getting desperate...
-
Silko has been making some good runs, but the service from Fatawu has been absolutely shite. You know he's gonna get accused of being the ineffective one though.
-
Isn't that what we've been doing since Vardy left anyway?

Yes, 100%, lol.
