  1. What a wasted opportunity that was, refused to pay the money and within two years we'd spent £6 million more on Oliver Skipp. Collective failure from Rodgers and the Board.
  2. Good stuff, slowly but surely sorting the future of the squad out.
  3. Think it's time him and Monga swapped the role with him coming on for the last 30. We all know how good Stephy can be , but he's the weak link right now with our wide players. I'm not sure if it's a confidence thing, or he just needs a kick up the arse, but he's missing the edge to his game we saw two years ago. I trust Marti to make the right call... bloody hell, it's been a while since I said that about a Leicester manager!
  4. Jakub Ricky P Vestergaard Faes Thomas James Monga Winks Abdul Ayew Carranza Think Stephy needs dropping, but wouldn't be averse to seeing him play more centrally. That said, if Ayew is on the pitch he's gotta be in the 10 role - I'd rather not see him constantly drifting to the wings and slowing the play down.
  5. KP reaping what they sow as far as those huge blocks of corporate seats sat empty go. Turns out Asquith and the rest of the trust fund babies Top hangs out with at Polo don't even know what a Coventry is, let alone want to fly into Leicester for a second tier lunchtime kickoff when rain is forecast.
  6. Looked alright for the short period he was in at 10 behind Carranza. Despite his lack of dynamism I'd rather have him there than out wide where he slows down play too much. It's frustrating when he holds on to it for too long and dribbles into cul-de-sacs by the 18 yard line, but his hold up play when it's done more centrally really does free up those around him. Monga shone because of it.
  7. Any crusties complaining about the TIFO yesterday out of curiosity? I was stuck in a queue and didn't get in until 5 mins after kickoff, but I read the Union FS poster on my way up and noticed it had specifically addressed this, ridiculous they have to go to that level of walking on egg shells to get them on board. Just seen this brilliant tribute from Sunderland and couldn't help but think if that happened at the KP there would still be some melts complaining that they couldn't see Soumare and Skipp tripping over their laces as they trudge out of the tunnel.
  8. Oxford are decent to be fair given their technical limitations. I thought their pressing was impressive, far better than anything Cov or Brum did to us. Only other team to do that to us to that level so far has been Preston, and we saw what happened. Horrible to play against, they're going to struggle to get the points but they're clearly up for the fight.
  9. I'm still pissed off that our game in the blizzard at Portman Road didn't get called off all these years later, but at the same time we'd done the damage to ourselves by going three nil down before it was unplayable, and the ref bottled calling it off. So yeah, wouldn't be the first time Ipswich have had spawny luck from mother nature.
  10. The NFC reader failed for me and I had to fumble around getting the backup code up to scan. Took over 30 seconds to get in in the end. Happened for multiple people, was why the queues were so long today. Load of shite, this is the future they forced on us.
  11. Wow that's floored me, shocking news. RIP
  12. Pretty meh, first taste of the safe standing today as well and it was basically the same as last season but I had something to lean on when there was a lull Hard to get up for a 12:30 even against these to be honest, they were a really crap end considering this was their actual cup final. Shout-out to the muppets back in Cov that paid actual money to watch that at the cinema
  13. I really want Stephy to find form again, because we know how good he can be - but on merit Jeremy has to start at the moment.
  14. Proper weird day of football, this.
  15. G'won Barry lad
  16. They gave us way more space than I expected to be fair, we just didn't really create enough with it. I like the look of Carranza, he was working with scraps but his positioning looks excellent.
  17. Me and @Jattdogg are offended
  18. Highly possible we go second with a win by the way. Time to turn it on and stamp our mark, fingers crossed.
  19. I think this is it. Forest are the pits for me, then this lot, then Derby. Which is probably an unusual order for someone from the north of the county, but then I can't remember a time when Derby were anything besides an easy three points and someone Bernie used to take the piss out of while standing in a pile of horse shit. If they ever win against us and rub it in, I might think different, but there's less fire to our games with us than the other two IMO. I still look forward to all three games.
  20. Jesus Christ, I think it was a stupid tackle to make that put us on the back foot for the rest of the game lads, thinking he's an idiot for that doesn't mean I hate the fella, cool down
  21. Just drove back down for this. Not been back for a few months, but didn't need a map - got out the car and there are flags on lamp-posts everywhere and everyone looks like this. Definitely Leicestershire, welcome home.
  22. Yeah, I do agree he was crap at Huddersfield. But then again, based on Oxford one of them needs dropping and I feel like an Okoli / Nelson partnership could be a disaster if neither is ready to lead without an experienced head alongside them. For that role it's gotta be Jannik, Faes is on paper the best defender at the club but he's just as capable of shitting the bed as anyone else, and I don't particularly want him providing either of them mentorship given he's always the first to point fingers and absolve himself of any blame when we concede. Sidepoint, but will be interesting to see what happens when Souttar returns. It should be around the point of us entering the FA Cup so if he's up to speed he could have a chance to break in through our squad for that.
  23. I held off posting at the time so that my post wouldn't get lost, so here goes a few hours late... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAAAAAAA HA
  24. F*** me that's tragic. I appreciate playing this rabble more frequently nowadays, it's a timely reminder that, despite our decline, it could be worse. For some clubs, even ones on an upward trajectory, playing Leicester City is the best it gets.
  25. Skipp is one of those fellas who would instantly look better (and 5-10 years younger) if he bit the bullet and went for a buzz cut. I do wonder if it's something that bothers him mentally. Then again, I'm still not over Paul Konchesky showing up to pre season one year with a full head of grey hair. Always thought the fella had alopecia, don't even remember him having eyebrows before that.
